Creator Cars and Minifigs

LegogeekLegogeek Member Posts: 714
Out of curiosity ~

I'm trying to find some extra cars for my Cityscape and was wondering...

Are these Creator Cars minifig scale?

#31017 Sunset Speeder
#31002 Super Racer
#31006 Highway Speedster
#6913 Blue Roadster

I know some are 8 or more studs wide.
Will they accommodate a minifig 'as is'?

I would leave #31006 out, to big for a minifig. The others would probably work, but they might look rather odd next to the other City vehicles.

When in doubt, MOC it! ;-)

Thanks @rancorbait - I sort of thought 31006 might be a bit too big, and I realize that the others might be on the 'wide side', but my MOCing skills suck. Ashamedly, I'm one of those AFOL that lack the creative skills to MOC and I completely rely on ready to build sets & instructions.

Mine MOC skills suck to..been getting better. I look for older City sets at decent prices especially if they have multiple cars or other vehicles. To start with you can just change a couple of tiles to make them different from other cars or vehicles or similar type.

I used mostly the lego City Vehicle, just 3177 and 8402

They don't seem to fit well with a city layout. I have a #6743 that I picked up in a bulk lot, it is 8 studs wide and iirc then you cannot fit a minifig in the seat (without making it a drop-top car). Cool plates for doors though...

One option is buying the sets with the cars in (the new auto transporter or #4207 are good examples, albeit #4207 expensive for cars!), or alternatively just download the instructions for these (and #3177 and #8402) and bricklink the parts in whatever colour you want.

There are car models in #7898 and #7939 too.

Thanks for all the recommendations @jediami65 @bsiu922 and @luckyruss

I do happen to have each of those sets and more, but I'm always looking for another vehicle. "Variety is the spice of life" I always say. ;-P

Due to the fact that it appears minifigs might not even fit in the Creator cars (unless with some slight modifications), I may just pass on the idea. It sounds like Bricklinking the pieces for other designs is probably the best option.

I wish LEGO would have a better selection of race cars too... I was putting off getting #60025 , but now with #60053 coming out I may get both and will just have to Bricklink the competition in different colors.
