Well done PeriJove. Will likely be picking this one up.

As I also mentioned on the Breaking News comment, Awesome! I've been waiting for this since it's original debut on CUUSOO. Glad to see it will be available soon. It certainly looks true to the original.

I will definitely be buying this set, and it will probably find a place next to my Hayabusa.

    Congratulations to @Perijove!

Hopefully this partnership with NASA will spark more space related sets. I've been reading Canada's very own astronaut, Chris Hadfield's book, and I'm getting more and more interested in space flight.

The space rover looks like a really awesome set, will definitely be picking it up.

An ISS model would be fantastic.

It could definitely be a series with a lot of potential, I'll definitely be picking this up. Would love a Saturn V or a jumbo jet with a shuttle on top

At first, it looked like the label in the corner said Cuusoo #035.
I was wondering where the hell I had been.

I'm surprised they haven't released a spaceman with a guitar too.

If my 6 year old can recognize this sets as a Mars rover, they have done well with it. :-) We will be getting this set.

Fantastic, I echo the calls for this to spark more space/exploration themed sets. Cant wait for this.

Loads of iconic designs, unfortunately I lack the skill to enter a Cuusoo project. Probably mostly been done, hubble, some of the earlier rockets, lunar module, an astronaut minifig series, some of the Russian stuff, even some of the concept ideas, etc.

Just bought one this morning, looks like there is only a limit of one person at this time and they are out of stock until January 20th ish.

Interesting. Limited to 1 in the US but 5 in the UK.
  • PaperballparkPaperballpark Member Posts: 4,268
It'll probably be more popular in the US, given that it's based on a US rover.
  • mathewmathew Member Posts: 2,099
So is this available in stores yet?
  • CalvCalv Member Posts: 904
Not in the UK stores, it is online only in the UK at least. Not sure about elsewhere.

Nah, love for the Curiosity Rover or NASA for that matter is pretty much universal - pun intended.

On second thought, I need to strike 'NASA for that matter' from the post above.

@Paperballpark, while it may seem that the Curiosity rover was solely an effort by the US, it was really an international one. Spain provided the High Gain Antenna, Germany helped with the Radiation Assessment Detector (RAD), and the Rover Environmental Monitoring Station (REMS) was contributed by Spain and Finland. That's just what I could remember off the top of my head. There may have been contributions from other countries, as well.

US is a volume market, and it's currently limited volume. The limit of 1 makes sense to me.

I ordered this set yesterday. Since it's backordered, it will not ship until 1/14/14. Can't wait though!

Same here, ordered it some days ago, will not be shipped until February. My first Cuusoo-Set!
  • jediami65jediami65 Member Posts: 474
Got mine Friday built it Saturday it's a great set, I really like the wheel assembly/rocking arms that resemble individual suspension, had to pry it away from my son "It's for display only" I told him. I will probably get him his own he's been asking about it. It has been a conversation piece for us and going through the manual with the pictures that were included from the real Rover were a nice addition.

We need more sets like this.

I really like the look of this model. Pity I can't pick this up, no stores in Singapore carry any cuusoo.

Yes, that is the thing I did not understand. Why would my order on 1/7 not ship until yesterday, while orders two days after mine shipped last week? There seems to have been something a bit wonky happening with this particular order/back order process.

I almost posted yesterday about it and before I did I got the shipment notification finally.

    Wonky!

Yeah, I don't get it either....

I ordered two items, Curiosity #21104 and Cargo Terminal #60022. I was surprised at the quick turn around.

FYI - I'm on the west coast USA.

well, I finally broke down and ordered this last night. It's a great looking little model. Was going to just wait awhile and hope it shows up in the store at some point, but now I think I don't want to risk it.

It said it was back ordered until March. I'll keep you all posted on that

Do they have them at regular LEGO Stores?
  • dougtsdougts Member Posts: 4,110
^ eh, I'm in no hurry. I've already ordered it, so I can wait until it arrives.

  • ColoradoBricksColoradoBricks Member Posts: 1,659
Status changed from "Sold Out" to "Out of stock, expected ship date 8 Mar 2014 "
  • mathewmathew Member Posts: 2,099
Don't worry, it will be out for at least a year. No way they would release a set and then discontinue it 30 days later.
  • ColoradoBricksColoradoBricks Member Posts: 1,659
^ I hope you are right,,, just went back to Sold Out again

^^ ~cough~ #41999 ~cough~ now that they seem to have speeded up the reviews and even with just three a year not four I can see some of these becoming very short runs.
  • ColoradoBricksColoradoBricks Member Posts: 1,659
#4199 was expected being a LE, the one that surprised me last year was #21050
  • cheshirecatcheshirecat Member Posts: 5,331
True but it was limited to 20,000. They've publicly stated that cuusso are start with 10,000 and then go from there. That said it's 'available now' on the UK.
