I've been guilty of this once or twice myself. Wake up' can't sleep, silence and darkness all around. So what do I do? Quietly retreat to the guest room to build. It's those darn crinkly bags that always stress me out thinking I'll wake the Mrs's up! Never happened but I always fear. HA.

^ Excellent! Was it added to your bag when you were ordering, or did it come as a surprise? Hoping now that I might get one with the Winter Village Market I ordered yesterday.

I also got the poster, with an order I placed on Cyber Monday. It was shipped from the center in Mississippi, if that makes a difference. It was not shown in the cart when I placed the order.

It was not in the shopping cart when I ordered. And, FWIW, I actually received two of them in the same package - dunno if that was on purpose or not.

Just finished #10229 as part of our growing Christmas builds every year. Is was too tempted by it to leave it for my children to build it later today. I thought, "day off, wife at work, children at school....my turn!".

Anyway, they will have enough if Santa brings what they would like!

Has spent most of today building with our oldest who was home poorly, we have spent some very enjoyable time building extra little LEGO presents to go under his Christmas tree from the decorating the tree poly.

Completed yesterday, Winter Village Market is my favourite 2013 set (I think!).

Lots of detail, great minifigs and plenty of them, and a brilliant centre piece in the carousel.
    I just love it!

Just realised yesterday that my 3rd bedroom (barely large enough to be called that), which for years I have called my "Computer Room", has suddenly been renamed my "Lego Room" independently by both Mrs Q and myself. I guess the amount of sets and loose brick stored there has finally reached tipping point....!

Received my missing bag of parts for the Fire Brigade from Lego yesterday. Didn't get to build it last night as my daughter was preforming her piano solo at the school Christmas music show. She played "requiem for a dream" and Dad was very proud. Tonight the kids and I will start back up on that FB now that we have all the pieces.

Just been informed that my lovely girlfriend has ordered me Lego for Christmas, I'm far too excited now! Although she won't tell me what I've got which I think is more than a little cruel. Also my Horizon Express gift should be here soon, it's only been a month since my friend passed it onto my friend to pass it onto me.

It's my little boys 3rd Birthday today, watching him open his presents I noticed he's already doing the shake the box to see if it's Lego :)
We got him more Cars Duplo and the look he gave means we will have to find him the last 3 sets to complete his collection.

3 is a very sweet age. Happy Birthday to him. If I may, I would suggest not to be so quick to complete his collection though. 3 is very young to be a completist. From my experience (my son is 15) it is better they enjoy what they have and not overwhelm them with massive numbers and complete collections. Having a few special items to play with is easier for them to relate to at that age, rather than an overwhelming number to choose from. This also leaves other sets to look forward to in the future. Of course, this is just my opinion, but it comes from experience with my son at that age and MY attempt to aquire as many Thomas the Train sets (the biggest thing at that time) that he showed interest in. He loved the one simple set we started playing on the floor with and several extra cars he had. Then Santa brought him the table and 3 major sets and lots of cars and buildings. He lost interest w/in 3 weeks. Too much to choose from and too many to deal with at that age. (As I said, my opinion, and all kids are different, but they are also very similar in many was as well. Please don't think I'm critisizing or trying to teach you how to parent your child, just passing on my experience with a similar matter.) :)

My son, who just turned three a couple months ago, is the same.

I bought him a couple of the City "great vehicles" earlier this year and he had a lot of fun with them. So I got him a few more, and now he doesn't show much desire to play with them (he still likes playing with my sets, though!). Similarly, his grandpa got him a Bruder backhoe and he was ecstatic about it, even napped with it. So of course grandpa got more Bruder vehicles; a bulldozer, an excavator, etc. Now that he's got more, he doesn't show as much interest in playing with them.

I don't know if it's a paradox of choice or simply that young kids quickly move from one interest to the next.

@LegoMom1 it's ok I know all families are different, yes I love the sets with him and I know I'm the completist. I also see how all 3 of my children play together with them (oldest is 7) and I'm sure baby number 4 due next month will also get good use of them. Another big interest of all my children is Thomas take and play sets, I love that they can all play together and share well most of the time :) I do see your point of overwhelming them if we just had the one child. He is a big Cars fan and he already knows which cars he doesn't have and is asking for them, I just want to get them before I can't get them. We only give sets to them at Birthdays or Christmas and with his Birthday so close to Christmas it's hard to get everything. I think that because all of them have the interest in the things together that the interest seems to last longer and that's probably because of them being close in age :)

My 2.5 year old gets all disappointed if Daddy hasn't made a new set for him to see in the morning when he gets up. I've been finding the creator 3 in 1 sets perfect for helping with this.

However I do think he does get a bit overloaded - hence quite a few sets are high up not in general eye view with a selected few at his height. He seems to forget about the ones he can't see to concentrate on the ones he can see. (even though he was playing with them constantly a week or so ago).

Sorting through about 20lbs bought off Craigslist today. Lots of great stuff that could be complete. Now the question is to just take a few of the easier to find sets and sell the rest for what I bought it for or dig through all of it and make a nice profit...

I was so confused this morning when my oldest son was sent a Lego Chima magazine, I had no idea who had sent it. I didn't know the handwriting and there wasn't any clue as to who it could be from. I did find out in the end and I should have known that @Jenni would be behind it :) Thank you again :)

The way I see it, you have one of two choices. Either go out and find a store and buy yourself a little something Lego, or, hit the hotel bar and start drinking. :)

Is full of a virus again and just not feeling it at all today.
Note to my sons, leave the germs at school!

Going to huddle up under a blanket with hot ribena and the Christmas tree lights on whilst building the #40082 that the totally amazing @carlq was tremendously kind to send to me :-)

^^ @Legobutterfly, sorry to hear you're poorly - me too; fluey and in bed after a long and sleepless night :-( - but I'm glad my gift is going to cheer you up a bit. Lego is always a good idea at times like this; I've cracked open my #40083 and have the parts scattered across my duvet as I type this. :-)

@carlq I am so sorry to hear you are poorly :-( I prescribe plenty of ribena and LEGO building!

I have found now that sleeping propped up means I can actually get a few hours sleep a night without keeping the whole house awake sounding like a sealion begging for fish!

The gift was very well received and has been just the job in cheering me up today, thank you SO much.

I hope you're feeling much better very, very soon x

    @Legobutterfly & @carlq - Get better quick!

Christmas tree is up, and nearly decorated. Winter Village is up but not complete yet. Grandson has been a great help, and better yet he raked the leaves from our huge black walnut tree! He's even built some Lego with us.

Legoland Windsor did a great job yesterday, the kids absolutely loved it despite the weather.
    The Grottos were superbly done.

(And I picked up a couple of things in the shop but really it's hard to spend big when I know it's about a third cheaper on Amazon.)

When I saw it, pretty much the whole theater chuckled when Peter had his cameo.

I also find myself justifying the purchase of the entire Lego Hobbit line now that I've seen the movie. Funny how that happens.

Disappointed and kicking myself. Purchased a few Friends sets on eBay advertised as complete. Turns out - far from complete! I've been having a really good run on eBay too, so I left positive feedback before putting the sets together. Total mistake, should have known better, especially when the shipping charge was double what it should have been :(

On my way home from a day abroad, to hopefully find 5 bricklink orders waiting on the doormat...

I wonder how many will actually be there?
