After getting some for fellow Brickseters, I also got myself a few but I wonder how they will do long term (I'll be getting rid of mine now though), being that the Lego games were mostly a flop.
Some positives are that these 2 were only released in what appears to be very limited numbers & limited locations plus Batman & LOTR have cult like followings. I'm sure if these were standard construction sets that the sky would be the limit, but being games I'm not so sure.
I say this only because that is what the 2011 holiday sets are going for now (though this is a vehicle and not a room scene)
There's a reason they don't just throw freebie Star Wars sets into shipping boxes like they did with all the Speedorz this summer.
It may well be for good reason, or it might surprise.
I've been picking up 5 of this and 10 of that when I find them for more than 30% off. Generally most sets are worth having 5 to 10 of at 30+% off.
Doesn't mean I want 100 of them, but a few never hurt. Well... Home One not counting. :)
It is an obscure ship from ROTJ that never did anything, never fired a laser, never blew anything up. It appeared for, what, about 8 seconds of screen time?
The A-Wing would have made a better choice, an A-Wing took down the SSD, so it actually did something.
How about a UCS TIE Fighter, that would make ten times more sense.
LEGO should not have tried to make lightning strike twice.
There's an idea though, Architecture Studio: Black. Coming soon to a B&N near you.
(Note: Not actually replying to the thread between you two, just to the literal idea of the Studio in other colors).
Inventory says they have over a thousand in stock. If so, ouch, that will be here for awhile then.
Sorry, link for the lazy. :)
:)
Ok, maybe a little bit... but not really, now stop that! :)
Any time I can get a copy for $100 or less, I pickup a few more.
The only downside... it may not retire for another two years, like FB. Grr... But it really is a nice set.
Boxes sealed but plenty shelfwear.
To buy or not to buy?
If numbers don't lie, now is the time to stock up on your GE.
Also look at the DS pushing over 2000 days on the market. It is time for that set to go.
