^ prices for these sets are the lowest i have seen.. of course we can always go lower.....
this is without the ebates and redcard etc combination... which can add another 5+5=10% of savings.
~45% off on sail barge, pirate ship, and constitution sucked me in
~45% off on Sail Barge and Pirate Ship? Those are no-brainers.
For example:
LORT Pirate Ambush $99 at WM even 50% off after X-Mas = $49...Target is $55
If you can find 50% after Christmas, then I can see why you might wait.
Talking strictly from pricing point why are all these retailers stuffing these discounts? It surely looks like people aren't spending enough and they seem to have lot more inventory. Look @ Walmart pricing now .. Which is not much discount after they burned through the inventory. So, target is late to the party and it so seems that they will have to discount more to move their inventory no? Otherwise why back to back sale?
Target does one of two things to authenticate that you are attaching it to your own bank account:
1.) Allows you to login using your bank's online banking login information (Usually bigger banks)
2.) ACH's a couple trial deposits that you'll have to verify on their site.
If you bank with a smaller bank, it'll take 2-3 days for the trial deposits to hit your account, so you won't get the card number for online use instantly.
In-store, they have your check, so you get your account details on the spot, and you can use it in-store and online.

There remain deals on Target that are worth buying, stuff that is going out now that they still have on sale, and frankly, I'm shocked to see still in stock.
I get that they are good deals, especially if you missed cyber Monday deals at Amazon, do not happen to pay sales tax in your state, and have the red card, but I do not feel a knee jerk reaction to getting another card (ie temptation to spend) to save 12-15 dollars.
That and I have had my fill from Amazon and TRU sales this past week (not to mention yoyo.com) I have to cry uncle at this Target sale as tempting as it is.
"Frankly my dear, I don't give a damm..."
Now get off my lawn... or something... :)
"Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn."
However, do keep in mind that most of my purchases are for resale, so that rules doesn't really apply.
Every thousand dollars spent saves $50, which for sure adds up over time.
Is it about the deals, credit card or where your getting the deals?? Me personally...I like knowing I can run into Target knowing I can return something. Every Lego I've ever received from Amazon looks like I just bought it from a 2nd hand/thrift shop.....that's recovering from a tornado. Everything else from Amazon has been fine....but LEGO...0 for 6....and 0 for 6 on returns. The last was a VW Camper for my nephews birthday. I had family ask if I had dragged it behind the car first before wrapping it.
I know it happens though. I guess I've just been very lucky so far.
I think it's just my bad luck....or there's a box at the bottom of the agreement that says "check this box for new, perfectly shipped boxes.....otherwise they'll show up pretty crappy"
