Quick Version:
I would like to build a MOC of Camelot for DISPLAY ONLY at my sisters childcare center. And would really appreciate your help/advice.
Long Version:
My sister has worked in childcare for over 10years and her dream was to own her own place; over the past few months she has joined with my father and borrowed a fortune from the bank and this month opened Camelot Day Nursery. I have spent a fair bit of time there painting and decorating and building things ready for its opening and whilst working in the reception area it occured to me that a nicely built model of Camelot would look great in the entrance to the building.
Now I have to admit I really appreciate MOC's, but have not really created m/any of my own.
I have bought 7946 - Kings Castle as a starter, but would like to 'Camelot' it up.
So I would really appreciate any help/advice on any elements, e.g.:
It is display only (due as much as anything for safety) so should it be glued or in a case or?? (90% sure a case would be best)?
If a case I assume perspex is probably best, would anyone know what sort of size would be required to fit, Kings Castle + some spare to 'MOC' it up? Where to buy?
Does anyone know much about Camelot + Characters to add, other than Arthur and Merlin??
Any obvious mini figs that would fit the roles?
Any parts that would lend themselves easily to a round table?
Any simularly themed MOC's I can take some inspiration from?
Any other input, thoughts, help you can provide?
I really would like to make something nice for the children to appreciate each day. I even thought I could go in and make some modifications every now and then to keep it interesting, (Santa visiting at Xmas, Maybe Lotso (TS) being thrown in prison, Giant Rabbit at Easter, Alien Tripod at ......erm Alien Tripod Day!?!?).
So any thoughts, help, advice, would be really appreciated.
:)

As a first thought I'd direct you over to the eurobricks site. This is an index of all the castle moc's deemed worthy of catalogging:

Have a look through, it's great for inspiration.
In terms of other sets/pieces that might come in useful, I'm thinking a lot of gold! So if you can get the city of Atlantis and some other the Prince of Persia sets cheap, there are some great pieces to use. Something like this:

Let us know how you get on!
Lancelot is a must as is gweiniver. Most obvious image is the victorian version of the myth with its concepts of camelot and the one most people would know. so things like spiral towers and great dining halls. or you can look at the site of tintagel in cornwall which is meant to be Arthurs seat. so bordered by the sea. has merlins cave etc
