Waiting for the mail to come, to resume nefarious Lego activities...
  • backbencherbackbencher Member Posts: 16
And just had to buy the 2014 LEGO calendar...

@backbencher your post reminded me that I had LEGO coming too so I actually checked my mail box, thanks!

So my daughter is building Andrea's beach, my husband, after spending time with @atkinsar, @legoboy and @carlq last weekend and being contaminated, is psyching himself up to open his ADU Walker and thanks to the generosity of @gurooo I'm enjoying a completely unexpected BR minifigure. Yay for a LEGOey Saturday!

Status is: I received my #75015 through the post today, 3 days earlier than expected, which has really put a smile on my face on an otherwise miserable Saturday. Upon opening to start building it, I noticed that bag 2 had become glued to the box seal like this:
    image
Note the bag isn't touching the bottom surface. Not once have I seen this happen before, and I've opened over 500 sets! Ah well, I thought it was odd anyway :-)

Have a feeling this will be more commonplace as Lego continues to reduce the size of their boxes :-)

I bought Eglor's Twin Bike. Looks pretty cool, going to build it now.

Demolished the bank from #79109 and the two wagons from #79111. They're the beginning of two short passenger coaches for my WV display. Dug out some spare from my stash. Now I just need to bricklink a "few" pieces...

Took apart my #10224 Town Hall today. Need the parts for a MOC I've been planning for ages and have started building recently. Kind of a shame to take it apart, but when I orignally bought it, it was only for the parts and not to build, so it's finally being used as intended really.

Lego #10233 Horizon Express very kindly purchased for me by a friend of mine, can't wait to get my mitts on it that's for sure.
Also been messing about with my Lego trains and City whilst I still can before big move and new business venture, very exciting stuff for sure.

Just ordered Winter Village Market #10235. I intend on going full tilt boogie with my Christmas display this year. Thanks to Series 11 CMF, there will be elves everywhere. Oh, the joys of Lego at Christmas time.

Feeling a bit frustrated over a BL order. Ordered 3 mimes, had to contact seller to get an invoice, then after I paid he told me he could only find two mimes and asked if I wanted another mini-fig. Hoping it's finally settled or I'm done with this seller.

Have come up with a design for my 2 train coaches, placed 2 Bricklink orders, 1 Lego replacement order and 1 PAB order. Now I'm just waiting...

Just came from the Watford Store, where a bunch of very smiley schoolgirls were happily building MMMB Igloos from last December. It's a great little kit, and the kids were really enjoying the build. Well done, Watford Crew! :-)

Is cuddled up perusing the latest [email protected] catalogue whilst sipping hot ribena and occasionally glancing up to look out of the window and watch the waves crashing onto the beach.

It is so cold and windy outside, I am glad to be snuggled up warm inside with a LEGO shopping fix and a couple of kits to build later, good times!

Sold my Green Grocer today. Was hard taking that first step and breaking up a complete modular collection but it feels good not to have that compulsive desire to own everything in a theme anymore.

I received the smallest LEGO book in the world today! Out of the 260 made, I got 32. Really glad to have this in my collection. Here are some pics:

@LegobrandonCP- Where and how did you get it? I remember seeing it a few weeks ago, I think Huw posted about it, but not much info that I recall.

I sent in my minifigures to DK for them to take pictures and put it in the book. This was their token of appreciation. :)

Have negotiated the use of the desk in the sitting room for the next 3 months for the WV display. Some extra track arrived from Amazon this morning to complete an oval. Still waiting on more stuff to arrive.

When will it be ok to start building? November 1st? December 1st?

^ I would say November 1st, gives you longer to enjoy all that winter themed goodness and may even help keep spirits up as the cold of winter sets in :)

But whenever you decide to start building and displaying, enjoy :)

  • BrikingBriking Member Posts: 768
@iso3200 - Thanks, ended up getting it on ebay in the end. £100 incl packaging. Oh to have bought it in a post Xmas sale when it was new.
  • LegoMom1LegoMom1 Member Posts: 651
I see 2 sets of boxes. One on the desk top and one underneath. Trick photography, photoshop or you have 2 of each? Just curious.
  • BrikingBriking Member Posts: 768
^ I had been buying them for my CFOL over the last few years. It was only at STEAM last year that I admitted to my Lego addiction and finally decided I wanted my own sets. So I started with modulars and am slowly moving into other themes. My name is Briking and I am a Legoholic.

So those below are his, whereas mine (still un-built) are on top.

Helping hubby build the #8274 Harvester. I surprised him with that and #8284 to build while he recuperates from a toe amputation. Also waiting to be built is #21018 and #8263 is on the way via us mail.

^Ooh. Hope he recovers quickly. Sounds like a good remedy at least.

@Bumblepants, Thank you he is doing well. The surgery was Monday, on Wednesday it required a bandage change and the surgeon was pleased with how well it was doing. The Lego is a wonderful distraction.

Good day out at Westfield today. 3 large PAB cups, #102335 WVM for me and #70404 King's Castle for my CFOL, plus various other bits and pieces. I was allowed to stack it in 3 separate transactions so we picked up 3 of the freebies as well. And my VIP points balance is very healthy now :-D

But how is your wallet's health? I've found the two are inversely proportional. :(

^Oh, sorry. When I overspend (and since joining this forum it's been often), I cringe, but I always wind up saying, "Oh, well," as there are worse ways to spend money. This way brings so much pleasure.

P.S. Looking forward to seeing your Christmas display.

Dug out an old winter jacket yesterday. Put in on and discovered I'd left a great big bulge in my pocket from when I last wore it.

I was at Target testerday and saw series 11 CMF's for sale in the wild for the first time. I randomly grabbed 10 packs. When I was at the register i was looking at the poly's they always have there and saw hidden behind 6 or so polys a couple CMF packs . I love finding LEGO that people have hidden in the store. I figured why not and grabbed them too. When I got home and opened the packs I was amazed that out of 12 random packs I only had 1 double...the Lady Scientist. Just incase you want to know the two packs that I found had the Yeti and Ginderbread man.
