So, my pick a brick order should be delivered today. No minifig. :(

I even asked CustServe about it when I had a question about the delivery time and they ignored my question about the minifig.

Lego customer service was very good to me! When my package arrived without the Lego Shop minifig, I called explaining that I checked when the order was made and assured that all boxes were getting the extra minifig. I was nice about it and the customer rep said that to make up for it she would send me a random free CMF11. Ok, cool. I'm thinking about ordering something again to get the poly, when my package arrives from TLG. Not only was there a CMF11, but the Lego Store Dude! I guess my VIP account is in the Goldilocks zone.

I would never expect to get a freebie with a PAB order. I assume that PAB orders are processed from a completely different location.

I got a LEGO rep polybag with the spring bags. Additionally, I got a thicker paper stock fire prevention instructional sheet along with a pic of a LEGO fire dept scene, anyone else get this?
I am in the US, for those wondering if I was anywhere else and got the bag.
  • vwong19vwong19 Member Posts: 1,191
^ Home Depot had a Lego fire truck polybag give away last Saturday along with other Fire Prevention awareness activities. Included was a pamphlet that was similar, but not exactly the same. I think on Octobert 10, Lego also had a Lego City Fire mini model build regarding fire safety, but I didn't attend that.

PAB is processed in Denmark where the set orders are processed locally from a Lego distribution center. This may be the reason that PAB orders are lacking the minifig.

My last PAB order was 18minifigs to fill my city scene up with. Well there was a nearly 2 month delay in customs for my order... I was hoping that the US customs officers were not going to be upset with my sending 18 little people across our border in a box. I hear trafficking people is a major federal offense.

I just got it. Placed an order online for Winter Market, City Advent, Thanksgiving Feast and Fall Scene and it came with it.

It's actually Poland for PAB, not that it makes much difference for those who live in the US.

@madforLego I got that fire prevention, unfortunately it was stuck to the tape that sealed the bottom of the box and destroyed it when I tried to remove it. A shame because the back has a decent picture on it.
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,789
^-- That is a shame, it is kinda neat.
Though I still plan on buying more this month from LEGO as soon as the Holiday set#1 is available online. So I'm guessing more of these will be had, as I imagine many others are also waiting for that set to be available before buying from LEGO.com

  • cheshirecatcheshirecat Member Posts: 5,331

So I ordered exactley $75.02 worth of items (to get free shipping, of course), all non-Star Wars. I get the box yesterday, and open it hoping to find the store employee minifig. Much to my surprise, I do indeed find one included! As I take out my items, I spy...a Clone Lt. minifig also included! So at this point I'm estactic, of course, and reach in to take it out...when I find ANOTHER Clone Lt. included. Free store empoyee minifig + 2 Clone Lt's. = happiness

I spoke to my friend (who's a UK LEGO store manager) the other week and he knew of its existence, but doesn't know exactly what and when it's for. Mine and his theory is that it could be for store anniversaries, but don't quote us on that. The anniversaries for Shepherd's Bush and Cardiff are coming up so I guess we'll find out soon. This is just speculation between two friends though, it is by no means official word from LEGO.
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,827
'I'm told' it will be coming to the UK via the mobile online thingy. It's worth noting also that the pick of who receives them is completely at random. There's no guarantee of receiving one nor any special criteria to meet.
  • LegoMom1LegoMom1 Member Posts: 651
^^ @Wil348- Gotta read the thread. The first post on this thread gave info and links as to what the reason for this promo was, therefore come up with as many theories as you want with your friend, but this figure was given as a thank you for shopping at [email protected], no further speculation needed really.

^ @Legoboy- I don't know if the mobile online thing is true or not, but from what I've read here so far, seems you are right about it being a completely random thing as to which orders receive this promo. Large orders, small orders, online or phone, some are getting it and others are not. Go figure!

Well it was unknown at the time that it would be via the mobile service. But I think it would make sense if they made it available in Brand Stores too.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong here, from from what I have gathered:
These are only available via [email protected] orders, not the store
I think anyone in the US is getting these figures in their orders. Maybe US only, not sure if Canada is seeing them.
PaB orders appear to be excluded from this as well.
But I would not call it random, as I have gotten one in each of the three orders I have recently placed.
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,827
^ Definitely random. If you have ten orders, maybe only 9 would have a fig. Just a high percentageness of randomness it seems. :o)

In any case, I'll take one off your hands if you want to send one my way. ;o)

Place a small order and get one. I don't think it's random either, seems like every order is getting one. (except for PAB for obvious reasons) Not sure if it's still going on though now that there is the Christmas promo.

Brighton had its anniversary last weekend, we didn't get the store minifigure - just the birthday cake and 3 lego figures in clear container

Both of my orders had a store minifig. if you're close to a Lego Store that's the best way to get it, and i have another pair of awesome friends animals & the great parts they keep coming with too. Probably gonna make a couple more orders like that today because I want to get enough to give to the store staff who haven't gotten them. The Assistant Manager by me has a pretty strong resemblance to the figure... if the hair was black you could make a strong case it IS him =-)

Yeah the minifigure has quite a strong resemblance to my friend (who's the manger of a UK store) too. The uniform is inaccurate though, it's missing the yellow and the LEGO logo, but this isn't meant to represent a specific country's uniform by the looks of it.

Someone mentioned that it's supposed to be a customer service employee, but why is the background of the packaging in a a LEGO store?

I ordered and received my Winter Village Market a couple days ago...no extra minifig.
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,789
I ordered a WVM and got another figure, I'm in the US though. I think people need to also confirm where they are at if they get a fig or do not.

I got a coupon code for free shipping direct from LEGO. I guess they do that if you don't order online for a few months. I used it along with VIP points toward some PaB parts. Not holding my breath, but it'd be cool if the minifig poly comes with my order.

If all you ordered was PAB, it's not likely.

Nice work Murph! I'll have to place orders for friends bags. Didn't you have to pay for shipping twice then?
  • murphquakemurphquake Member Posts: 651
@bmwlego Shop & Ship! No shipping on orders placed in-store for home delivery, I don't use it much, but have a few times to get [email protected] only promos or clearance sales (Cad Bane Speeder, CMF Book Poster). Pro-Tip: if you're in store and planning to pay cash but need to use S&S because they don't have something you're looking for have them go through the purchase online they can do that for you by selling you a gift card for the amount the order total is ;-) (don't forget to log in to get your VIP points & make sure they log you out as well)

    I guess I'll play along...
I ordered #850487 Halloween Accessory Set last week at the LEGO Store closest to me (they have none in store so free shipping made this small of an order worth it). After taking a slight detour in the mail, it arrived yesterday and the bonus LEGO Shop minifigure was included. Either I got lucky or this shoots a bit of a hole in any theories about needing to spend a certain amount. Oh, and for tracking purposes, I am in the US.
