^Batman Scuba suit is a welcome variant, as it's been seen in the books and cartoons before. Unlike the Electro suit.

Obviously the name was known some time ago, but even so it's nice to see The Penguin in a cheap set. This will go nicely with #76000.

And I hope that's a Penguin variant and not the same one from AA. But the pic doesn't look promising in that regard =(

Oh, and notice the new DC logo? Also says 'DC Comics' instead of 'DC Universe'. I'm hoping for either a face with a breathed mask on one side or a whole different cowl, the former is more likely but doesn't hurt hoping for the latter.
• The_CreatorThe_Creator Member Posts: 19
Hey, why on earth does my #76000 say Aric instead if Arctic? Was that ever fixed?
• binaryeyebinaryeye Member Posts: 1,831
^ Early versions were labeled "Artic" but newer versions have been corrected.

Drat, my OCD has kicked in, I feel the need to buy a new version. :P I believe I got mine for $10, so I guess that helps.

My TRU had the Iron Man vs. Fighting Drone and the Robin polybags for $4.99.

^^Fantastic new Avenger there. Is there a female version in the Marvel universe of a Iron Man-type character for your Marvel fanboys out there?
• graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^^ Isn't that just Pepper Potts in Iron Man 19 in another 40 years?

Sure it wasn't Iron Gran vs Fighting Crone, and the Robin polygrips?

If we even get half of the characters that will be in that game... I'll be elated.

I'm not familiar with the video games. Typically are all the characters involved produced in real-life fig format?

Not necessarily. I would say it means nothing as far as which minifigs to expect in the future.

Not usually. Most of the characters in LEGO Indy were never made, and it seems likely (if rumors of the line ending are true) that LotR will go down the same road. Heck, there are even characters from the Star Wars games that haven't been made yet.

LOL!
My TRU had the Iron Man vs. Fighting Drone and the Robin polybags for $4.99.

I'm slightly confused now...

I've heard chat that the Robin poly 30166 is part of a TRU promo. If it's a promo, what exactly is the promo? If it's 'for sale' where are you (what state/country) and where in the store were the bags? I'm trying to find the Robin & Redbird Cycle with no luck - my local TRU haven't a clue about it (I'm in So Cal, USA).

• graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^ I believe it was advertised to be part of a promo for spending some amount on SH LEGO tomorrow but most TRU's have been putting them out for sale where ever they normally put polys (different in some TRUs).
• LegogeekLegogeek Member Posts: 714
Thanks graphite. I'll have to check again tomorrow - maybe I'll have better luck then.

They must have been leftovers from the spend X amount promo to get one. Although they did have a lot… They were on an end cap in the LEGO section. But I've seen poly in some strange places at stores so look sharply. I'm in the upper-Midwest.
So, did your local TRU actually never even run the promo…? If so, hmm…

I did go back to the closest TRU to me today, and looked, and looked.... the only promo going on was build a Joker Mini Mech Bot and the only give away promo was the 5-pack minifig deal with a $60 purchase. I finally spotted some polybags (Friends and Super Heroes #30167 near the customer service counter, so I asked if there were more poly bags anywhere. The employee said she had a box under the counter and that I could look through it, and there was one bag #30166 the Redbird Cycle which I bought for $4.99.... so I'm happy.

Until right now I still wasn't even sure what the promo was supposed to be. But since I got back home I checked online and the TRU website is advertising for today only #30166 and #30167 with any $20 purchase.

I can second that. The video games are great fun, and reeeeeeeaally showcase how great the minifig range could be for the licenses, but the TLG have NEVER tapped the potential. In this respect the video games are also extreeeemely frustrating, in that we get to see what might have been.

It's a total crying shame. It really is. Especially when TLG seem to have largely accepted that the figs are driving licensed set sales these days, yet they pay no heed to the wonderful designs in the videogames. I mean, in production terms a fig is just a fig, no different to any CMF.

It's a shame they don't/can't use cuussoo or something similar before ditching a license, just to see what fans would like to see made before it gets dumped.

Sorry for OT bit.

I'd love to see more SH MF. As long as they are not promo MF (toy fair, comic con) and are all widely available to everyone

Sir von Lego over on Eurobricks have revealed the set names for the 2014 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Spider-Man sets. They have also given a bit more detail on what we should expect next year. I have also included details that we’ve already reported on.

Spider-Trike vs. Electro (76014) – Spider-Man riding some sort of “tricycle”. Electro has a green torso, yellow hands, and yellow legs. – $14.99

Doc Ock: Attack of the Truck (76015) – Includes Spider-Man, Doctor Octopus, and a driver. The truck seems to be a bank truck that Doc Ock is robbing. – $24.99

Rescue of the Spider-Heli (76016) – Includes Spider-Man, Green Goblin, and a woman minifigure. Sir von Lego mentions Spider-Man’s love which is either Felicia Hardy (Black Cat), Mary Jane Watson, or Gwen Stacy. The vehicle is an “Avatar-like Helicopter in red, blue and dark grey. – $49.99

Hopefully Spider-Man will get a new suit design or three. The current version is fine, but having a half-dozen of the same figure if you buy all the line is rather lame.

Looking at superman sets, they don't seem to give a damn.

I'm guessing the helicopter will be the one revealed from the video game.
I'm getting fed up of Spiderman too. When will we get X-men or Fantastic Four??
• vwong19vwong19 Member Posts: 1,191
I don't mind if we get the same Spider-Man as long as we get new minifigures along with them. Whatever gets kids and their parents to buy sets and Lego to continue with the Super Heroes theme is fine with me.

X-men are due...

More Spidey is fine with me, but I echo the statement of wanting a new design of any figures.

But, X-Men is where it needs to be at. There is an enormous wealth of characters to plunder, theres some classic sets you could create (X-wing plane, Xaviers mansion, Weapon + set, danger room sets which could be expandable, a Sentinel set with a brick built sentinel etc), the opportunities are huge. Considering they have only made one proper X-men set, and one limited edition figure (Phoenix), its daft they havent made at least another few.

Heck, even the best known ones would be an easy sell. Cyclops, Beast, Storm, Xavier... throw together a basic Superhero scene which is what they seem to be going for a lot, stick a few of those characters in and it would sell like hotcakes.

The issue with making set based on Fan Favourite character is that they aren't really known to the average 10 year old, which is the target audience for these sets. I think the two Marvel shows, Ultimate Spider-Man and Earths Mightiest Heroes are using a lot of the characters as 'buddy' of the week' sort of guys (watched one this weekend with the Guardians of the Galaxy in it - can't think why :) ). Anyway Batman, Spider-Man and Superman are the big hitters with kids with maybe Ironman starting to break into that club, but most kids under 10 have no idea who the x-men are as the films are out of their reach and the comics are way out of their reach (actually I would argue all DC and Marvel comics are out of reach for most under 10's), same for most other characters. Bottom line is we will get one of the big three in almost every Superhero set we get with the extra character fed in throughout the line in support of one of the cartoons or the latest film..

The Spiderman sets sound pretty decent, but another Doc Ock? Aren't there other villains? Electro is great, and a Green Goblin in Cartoon/Comic form instead of the ugly movie minifig is very welcome. I wonder what "superfriends" we will see in these sets.

Although not a fan of the blue/grey Batman that does look nice, much nicer IMO than the previous darker versions.

^ If that Minifigure is indeed from a Juniors set, I will be snapping it up. I had presumed it would be a bit like Jack Stone but perhaps not judging by this figure.

As far as Batman goes, I'm in the 'Adam West Batman is great' camp. Sure the films are good too, but nothing has ever said batman to me as much as the campy colourful TV shows. SOCK! POW! WHAMMY!

So that fig is right up my street.

Just wish they'd do the whole cast of heroes in that style. I mean, how many moody black-cowled scowling Robin's do we need? Let's get some colour in these heroes! Otherwise everyone just ends up in black, and how dull is that?

^ For me it has to be a mix of Batman from the Arkham Asylum an Arkham City video games, and the 60s Batman. The detective elements comes above the fighting element in my opinion.

Gosh, I'm ready for the 80s Frank Miller Batman. I'm done with the Adam West cartoony Batman look as well as the Tim Burton Batman. Give us something else LEGO.

Yes, I know LEGO is targeted towards the younger audiences but I can dream and desire.

^^ I tend to think of the blue/grey Batman with yellow/black symbol as a "Neal Adams & Jim Aparo" version rather than an "Adam West" version - SO much cooler! ;-)

I think a bright blue Batman is fun, and it's definitely a good choice for a set aimed at younger kids, but my optimal Batman minifigure would basically be that same figure with black in place of all the blue. I've actually put that together myself, but an official release would nice.

Truly optimal would be to have the bat symbol from the DKR set on a a torso otherwise styled like the one with the yellow oval, but that would require a new print, so that might be a little greedy of me.

I want a Arkham Origins Batman suit, Injustice suit or the New 52 suit. We need a decent black suit to replace the SDCC one as the best rendition of Batman made as a minfig.

After playing Arkham Origins over this weekend (not constantly I might add) I am desperately hoping we get some more villains in Minifigure form in future. I am crying out for a LEGO version of Black Mask in particular!

The Arkham Origins suit would do nicely as suggested by @legodude too.

I'd much prefer a painted Flash helmet but he looks pretty nice otherwise.
• GeddesGeddes Member Posts: 574
Would appear the new 52 is getting lego support. Currently green arrow, batgirl, nightwing, aquaman and the flash! Surely more are to follow!
