Judging by the look of the display models, each light-up brick appears to be the equivalent of 4 studs square with a plug-in port on the side to connect them together before attaching one to a power supply.

A mod might want to create a new thread a new thread - although isn't 'LEGO'.

Edit:- The Brick Shop did a review. "Just the one review", they add!

^Its a rip-off of Lego Friends and Lego light up bricks...

...They did a very bad job!
  • TheOneVeyronianTheOneVeyronian Member Posts: 1,372
It's not only Lego Friends they've done a rip-off of... oh the horror they've gone and done rip-offs of City and Hero Factory too! :-) Check out these other products (if you dare!) :-S

(note: please don't ask why I provided the link - I'm astoundingly bored this evening!)

Took the rarely used big toy out yesterday for an impromptu blast about the Devon countryside and this resulted in a stop off at Toys R Us and a purchase of Lego Pirate key ring for my dad(he seems to be collecting Lego key rings) blue base plate, large grey base plate and 3 series 11 mini figures all of them London Bobbies which up until recently had eluded me now I have 3! Still kept kids and adults amused in the car park when I got out with them all trying to work out what sort of 'Ferrari' the big red car with white stripes was, clue it's not even Italian...

I only finished rebuilding it last night, having had to look under my bed and under the wardrobe occasionally for missing pieces. Thankfully it is now fully present and accounted for.

Aha, you got to enjoy building the set for a second time! ;)

A few months ago, I thought my Lego hobby was all but over. I/we have hardly touched it for months, even though Brickset is my homepage and I follow the news and trends all the time.

Hard times meant I had to sell quite a few sets that I'd got saved for a rainy day, even my beloved MISB Greengrocer had to go :-(

As I've been sifting through my sealed boxes gradually getting rid of them one by one, I've found all this handling of Lego has reignited my interest. I decided that I'd keep my hand in just by collecting minifigs, meaning there'd be less space issues in the house, and I could free up some funds to help cashflow.

It kind of all went wrong through two factors. Minifig hunting became a weekend sport, trying to find the ones we needed, and then we built a #6211 Star Destroyer. The build was so enjoyable, now I feel the urge to get a couple of sets that I've lusted over for a while...

So as soon as I can sell my current wares, hopefully I'll treat myself to a #10240 Red Five and a Grand Emporium before it goes EOL to compensate for my GG loss.

I'm also kicking myself for not getting a #10212 Imperial Shuttle last year when the were being sold off for £170ish. At the time I didn't have the interest in SW, nor the money. Now it looks like it'll be a struggle to get one at a sensible price :-(

What is it with this hobby? I've played ping pong with it for years now.

Lego status today: Hooked again. Going to STEAM yay!

Has anyone tried to build with LEGO without using your thumb? i'm going to have to try as I smashed mine open at work today. At least it was my left hand :-P i'll spare you the rest of the details ;-)

Feel a little bad. A parent contacted me about a sealed Cafe Corner and why it was so expensive as his son just got into Lego and loves the modular line and now wants them all. The dad told me he contacted Lego and that his son was devastated when he heard that they stopped making the older sets. I'd like to help him out but I couldn't sell that set at the offer I received.

I'm sure a lot of parents run into this situation when their kids are introduced to Lego. The good news though is that there are lots of options for the modular line still available for new fans. So while re-sellers joke about FB never retiring, it's actually a good thing for situations like this.

^Link him to the current Ebay and BL offerings, then provide him with a price lower than the lowest available that you're still happy with. Whether or not it's within their budget, is not within your control. But by offering the cheapest option by a margin, you fulfilled a role of sincerely trying to help.
  • RennyRenny Member Posts: 1,145
Thanks, I did offer it at about the Bricklink average but he was looking at the $200 mark which is just not possible.

Anxiously awaiting tomorrow morning. At 10:00 our first LEGO store in Utah opens its doors. I went over to the mall tonight to see how it looked. It's a beautiful sight. I am so excited I can't sleep!

Frustrated . . . Was happy to find I could order granddaughter's birthday gift from S@H and have it shipped direct . . . Unfortunately it arrived minus one set. Have emailed customer service and hope they will correct it, but the invoice listed the order correctly even though the one set never made it into the box. Anyone had a similar experience?
  • SirKevbagsSirKevbags Member Posts: 4,027
@AFFOL_Shellz_Bellz I had a complete package go missing. Card posted through the door by the delivery man saying it was hidden behind my bin. There was no package. I assumed it had been stolen. One phonecall and the entire order was re sent no problem at all. I'm sure they will just send the missing item.

Bought my first 16 of the latest series of collectable minifigs from Smyths Toys earlier with the 20% off they're currently doing. Not opened them yet, so don't know how many duplicates I've got yet.
  • RennyRenny Member Posts: 1,145
Kind of Lego related. I am picking up the Wii U Zelda bundle later today and will also buy the Lego City Uncover game. Been looking forward to playing that since it came out.

Eagerly awaiting the arrival of Monday - so I can go and buy this with the arrival of new funds - and hoping it's still 30% off when the weekend's over!

Oh the anticipation and potentially huge risk I'm taking is killing me! :-P

I so bet the set is going to go back to £100 on Monday though - that would be typical :-P
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,827
@TheOneVeyronian - I trust you. Pm me your details and I'll buy it for you now and get it delivered to your address so long as you see me right on Monday. :-)

Must say - @Legoboy is a credit to Brickset, having helped me obtain a #70010 for £70 where I may have missed out on such a discount otherwise. Status is, I'm delighted with the generosity and helpfulness of Bricksetters in general! :-)

I hope to return the favour to @Legoboy someday :-)

My status today is everyone in this house is getting LEGO at the moment apart from me! But I'm not bitter or jealous, well not much anyway, lol.

Had 6 duplicates on the series 11 minifigs I bought on Friday, so went back to Smyths at Cribbs Causeway today to see if I could find the ones I'm missing. Managed to get 3 out of the 6.
Pretty sure I'd found the Grandma with the cat, but if I did, I must have put it back accidentallly X(
Also couldn't identify a saxaphone player or the scarecrow, so not sure if they didn't have any of those left or if I just missed them while feeling the bags, so still hunting for those 3.

^^^ I wanted to update on my last post here - my status is I am so happy I took up @Legoboy's generous offer of help - the price of #70010 just shot up to £79 this morning on Amazon.co.uk. Thankyou once again @Legoboy.

And how I managed to predict a price increase would happen today on there - that was a bit spooky as I'm normally rubbish at that sort of thing :-)
  • LegobutterflyLegobutterfly Member Posts: 488
^^ @AySea I was in Tesco Living at Cribbs the other day and the boxes were mainly unpicked over and also they had a few still sealed boxes so if you are going that way again, it may be worth a look/feel?
  • AySeaAySea Member Posts: 66
    Thanks for the info @Legobutterfly
I probably won't be up there again until after STEAM now though.

Grabbed one of those kids magazines for my son as it had a Chima poly attached, not often we get Polys in Australia. I also stopped by Kmart and couldn't go past the Coast Guard Helicopter #60013 for $25
  • messymessy Member Posts: 253
Very pleased as today my ebay purchases of #30201 Ghost poly and #5000062 Darth Maul poly arrived safe and well.

Also picked up all three advent calendars on 3 for 2 at Argos.

    Come on December the 1st!
  • LegobutterflyLegobutterfly Member Posts: 488
Has had a very good day LEGO wise, I managed to reserve 3 SW advent calendars in the argos 3for2 so now have one each for my husband and both of our sons, providing they are actually in stock when we pick them up that is.

Ordered a light temple for our oldests birthday and have been planning more Christmas purchases :D

I do love a day filled with LEGO planning fun, yay!

H.a.p.p.y! Got Lego! Finally a day when hubby and I both felt up to a trip to the Lego store, so I called ahead and they had everything in stock that I was hoping to buy! Now I already have a list for October . . . Have to keep them in business.

A status of gratitude and thanks for the Brickset community.

Many thanks to @sidersdd for going out of his way and traveling through Indianapolis traffic to purchase me a #41999 and then also taking the time to ship it.

I've had nonstop work the past month and have unfortunately not had the time to build/buy any LEGO. This will certainly satisfy the LEGO itch/craving/....addiction (for the time being). :o)
