Is this for real? It looks incredibly detailed, more like a moc than an official set. I suppose MMV was much the same though. Looks fantastic!

I'm pretty sure it's real... But I've been wrong before.

That's funny... I just kind of stumbled across the pictures and set details somewhere else. I beat the official Lego announcement by 11 minutes.

Wow, thats an absolute beauty. Makes up for the rather disappointing mill and skillfully merges the afol centred timber style with the kid centred stone style. Beautiful piece of work!

nicely done. and $119.99 seems pretty reasonable.

Looking closer at it, I think its real too. There's a large amount of new printed pieces that would make it unlikely to be a moc/fake. I'm pretty excited about this, glad they're going down the realism path for Castle with the Mill Raid and now this! Combine those with MMV a whole medieval town can be set up!

I can assure you that it is absolutely genuine as I built this set to be displayed in the morning at The Great Western LEGO Show in Swindon in just a few hour time. It's a fabulous set and include a number of lovely details.

Watch out for a more detailed blog post by DrDaveWatford in the morning here in the UK with some very early photographs of the set in all its glory.

^ @Martin You're the man to ask this then, does the set close up to form a complete building? If it does, the sides look they'll be back to front - the insides facing outwards. Or can it be attached to King's Castle somehow?

Looking at the photos, I noticed that the dark knight is not a dragon knight, but a black falcon. I wonder why the departure from dragon knights for this set.

I can't say I'm as excited about this one as I was with MMV or the Imperial Frigate but it does look nice.

Noticed the black falcon also and hoping they mix a few more of the older factions in there also.

The picture in the first post shows two sets attached to each other. The actual set is in the third post.

Does this mean MMV is on the way to extinction (and eBay sellers' heaven)? MMV is listed as discontinued in the database, as of earlier in September, but I saw it more recently in a Lego Store, and it is still listed as available on lego.com.

Fantastic set, an absolute beauty. Looking forward to seeing it in the bricks at STEAM in a few hours.

I reckon so as MMV has been around for two years or so and thats the usual shelf life of lego sets. This set is a great set and i cannot wait till febuary as this will be the first set through the door

Hmm... thats a bit misleading, didn't catch that mentioned on any of the pics I've seen. I take it everything else is included except the extra sets of wall sections?

  • streekerstreeker Member Posts: 299
^Confusing, to say the least. That's a $240 set that everyone is raving over. If the third post is the actual set for $120, why only show the back? Martin, is there any actual picture that shows exactly what is included, figs, buildings, and all for $120?

  • StuBoyStuBoy Member Posts: 623
    ^ I'm guessing its this:

Everything except the extra 2 wall sections shown in the first pic. Strange they'd include the extra walls in that pic though, don't think I'd buy 2 sets just to complete a mirror image of the whole scene.
  • streekerstreeker Member Posts: 299
^Thanks, Stuboy. You're right. I stand corrected. The picture shown on brickset's database is the $120 set. The second picture shown on the Facebook wall is of two sets.
  • StuBoyStuBoy Member Posts: 623
^ I've just noticed the first pic also shows 2 castle sections mirrored together and 2 extra figs. I think a bit of the shine may be taken off the initial reactions for this set by not making it crystal clear we were looking at 2 sets in the first image! I know it has for me.

A-MAZING. So glad we've got to see this set after all the rumours.

The lion noble man and green dress are a nice new addition, as is the black falcon Knight (though I wonder why they gave him green as his secondary colour rather than blue? Like the old black falcons?).

I doubt this indicates an introduction of the black falcons, but more like a AFOL in-joke to generate a bit more excitment (and keep the tradition/cliche of the solitary black knight).

Probably wouldn't get two, as a single set is nice enough to display, but clever that TLG are luring people in with that suggestion!

Feel this might be Kingdoms' final hurrah.

(shame that the King is the same as the carriage attack, but at least means I don't have to get that now, as this set is a MUST! Though strange that they changed the Lion Queens hair colour from the advent calendar).
