LEGO Lego Shop Man Set 5001622

Hello everyone,

I received this polybag recently and although I would never sell it or even consider it. But I found it very difficult to find anything about this minifigure. Not even how rare it is.

http://brickowl.com/catalog/lego-lego-shop-man-set-5001622

Thanks!

    Hi,

Where did you get this poly from?
  • legoskiddleslegoskiddles Member Posts: 7
    I can't really say since it's confidential :)

The torso and printed arms looks fantastic. This is on my want list now, so please do tell where and/or how you got it?
  • Zeldafanatic15Zeldafanatic15 Member Posts: 106
If I had to guess, it's a new poly coming out for a promotion. Hard to say how rare it is without any other info.

I know it's the mascot for the brand retail stores named Tom, that's about it, very weird that I only found it on one website though.

We did do a post about it a few days ago (http://brickowl.com/blog/lego-shop-man-polybag) but unfortunately we don't have much information about it.

If so how many points did you need to have to get the VIP Key Chain?

^You had to buy a lot of Lego, but not too much. It was a secret formula that only TLG knows.

    *Turns on the radio*

*I got you babe is playing*

"Okay, campers, rise and shine, and don't forget your booties because it's COOOLD out there today!"

Sorry, couldn't resist the GroundHog Day reference. Just feels like we are going to start up a discussion that I thought was long dead and buried :)

I knew that guy would eventually end up as a physical minifig.

Now all we need is the girl from the Lego CS website (think her name's Sophia):

And the "Lego website" minifig collection will be complete! :-)

So the mascots are Tom, Sophia, Max and Buddy. Great, my want list of figs just got a bit bigger.

Hasn't the love interest in The Lego Movie got the same hair as Sophia?

Here's something you don't know. Sophia is in fact a real CS person. She's lovely. Long hair last time I checked though.

Does anyone work at a Lego store? Could it be an employee thing? I don't think it has enough to be a public giveaway. To me it looks like something the company would give the store employees.

Wait... does the little guy with the beaver on his trucker cap exist??? I have a friend in real life that has buck teeth, and I've always wanted to create a LEGO version of him using that hat.

Last time you "checked"? Are you stalking TLG employees?

I think he means Sophie Patrikios, the director of Consumer services. Publicly known enough to not be to creepy.

I meant knowing she existed wasn't too creepy. But she probably isn't creepy either.

Nobody knows if it's a new figure or something from a year or more ago?
  • jdylakjdylak Member Posts: 281

Nobody knows if it's a new figure or something from a year or more ago?

Maybe the person/place where/who you got it from? Obviously no one can help if all you give is "I received this polybag recently" and nothing about how you came to get it.

@legoskiddles can you post a few photos, would like to see a bit more about it, specifically the back.

    Cheers,

After seeing this ploybag I think we might see a Lego Retail Store set in 2014 or 2015 :)

the back doesn't say that much, very simple, a pictogram saying it's not suited for ages 0-3, item number: 6043749, 5001622, a barcode and the trademark info, that's it. I got it from a lego employee, but can't specify it sorry.

Hello everyone, I'm sorry to have to say this, especially now that it's top news all of a sudden, all the info I gave I heard from someone who made it up, I'm so embarassed. She saw the minifigure on brickowl posted on september 9th and thought she would pretend to have it herself. I would appreciate it if the moderator would remove this topic. Sorry again folks!
  • TheLoneTensorTheLoneTensor MericaMember Posts: 3,937
Who cares if it was made up? It was fun to speculate, and if Lego is listening (which again, they should be if they aren't already), we've somewhat kinda determined there might maybe be a market for it. Let's see this as a promo item someday.
  • graphitegraphite USMember Posts: 3,275
^^ someone making it up sounds like a "someone let it slip out and we don't want people talking about it right now so we'll claim it was made up" excuse. Let's keep the speculation going!

Maybe he means a modular or an actual retail set versus a promotional item.

No, she found it on Brick Owl, and that's about it. No extra information was given. But yes the market is wanting some minifigure like this one obviously.

What the! So the guy who just traded me two for a #41999 and a packet of polo mints has scammed me then. Brilliant.
