I picked up: Welder, Yeti, Scarecrow and Gingerbread Man. I haven't opened them, so which one should I keep?

No, I felt for the ones I wanted and purchased them, because I couldn't decide on the spot. I'm not crazy for Lego Minifigures but they are cool to have.
  • orodesorodes Member Posts: 95
^ So you purchased the ones you wanted, but are asking which one you should keep? Surely if you purchased the ones you wanted you should keep them all?

Having decided that I definitely, categorically wouldn't succumb to buying #21103 The Delorean Time Machine...today I succumbed. My name is Carl, and I'm a Legoholic. It has been 12 hours since my last purchase. ;-)

Oh, and I also bought a few #40055 Halloween Pumpkin polys from the Watford Lego Store. Nice design! Laura at the Store has designed and built a huge version into which you can fit a battery-powered tea light - pop in and ask to see it, it's brilliant! :-)

So far through the post has come 224 RC train tracks, brand new sealed #7630 Front Loader and #7905 the Tower crane, few more sets to come as well.
Was sad packing up all my Lego to allow room for my girlfriend into the bedroom but excited to get it setup again with a completely new layout.
Now to decide what extra train I want to add, Cargo train or Horizon Express?

Last day on Brickset (and all other LEGO-related websites, though I'm still on the fence about whether I'll include [email protected]) until 2014. Wish me luck.

Just put my Lego trams on display at Heaton Park, Manchester for the day. Thanks to another exhibitor for letting me display them on his stand. I'd post up a picture, but I can't work out how to copy the image url from facebook using my tablet. You can search for 'bricktram' on facebook to find it if you want.

Just on my way to Target to start feeling up series 11 minifigs. Anticipating having sore fingers later today.

A kid free afternoon means time for a big set building session. I usually pick a concert to watch on youtube...turn up the volume and dig into a couple sets. Today i'm building the entire Avengers line in one sitting while listing to Faith No More in concert.....I had almost forgot how awsome they were. Music still holds up.

Went to Arrowhead Mall Store to buy a small PaB cup of parts. Ended up picking up a large cup because they had LBG Brick Brick and Palm Leaves. :)

@Legomom1 ...Have you ever been down here? Unless your in the quarter all you will hear is traffic or the busy airport. The quarter is nice to visit but I really wouldnt want to live there. Plus i'm an Ohio boy and the temp was over 90 today with about 6000% humidity. No open windows for me....air conditioning all the way.

Very excited to finally have all my Lego bits I ordered arrive now but I have a bit of a conundrum, do I unpack all my little plastic toys again after tidying it away for my GF's visitation this weekend or do I go out and fix my big plastic toy that has thrown a wobbly over it's after market Immobiliser? It's tough one to call.

Oh stop complaining Winky. We should all have those choices to decide between. I'd just like to change the GF to a BF, then I'd gladly take that conundrum. ;)

The GF wasn't the problem, she's wonderful to me and seems to be very understanding of my Lego affliction, it's the silly red with white stripes plastic toy that is the problem distracting me from the important Lego unpacking, still was good to remove the problem and take it for a blast, hasn't been used much lately bless it, probably why it went wrong.

The Lego collection has officially overflowed the 567 sq ft of display/storage space originally intended for it. Both #10234 and #10237 are displayed in our dining room.

Expected five packages from Bricklink today, only three arrived on my doorstep. If those other two turn up tomorrow with 2nd class stamps on them I won't be the slightest bit impressed! Especially when I paid for 1st class!

That happens far too often to me...
  • MatthewMatthew Administrator Posts: 3,714
^ I'm not sure when your seller sent them, however you have to remember that the official delivery time for 1st Class is 1-3 days, next day is only an aim.

Have been smiling all day. Just purchased Imperial Hotel #21017, at 20% off from Amazon, thanks to @margot posting the sale. As I can only buy 1 or 2 sets per year (finances-not lack of space), I am sooooo happy. My son and I have wanted this set for a very long time.

    Just sorted through the Lego I bought from the Manchester Pick a Brick last Sunday and my haul consists of;

    Small Cup Contents:
295 of Trans Light Blue Round Plate 1 x 1
    385 of Green Flower Stem
    41 of White 2 x 2 Double Jumper Plate

    Large Cup Contents:
    66 of Trans Clear Brick 1 x 2
    136 of Dark Green Brick 1 x 1
156 of Light Bley Masonry Brick
    16 of White Brick 1 x 16
    35 of Light Bley Tile 2 x 2
    110 of White 2 x 2 Double Jumper Plate

Only my 3rd visit to a Pick a Brick wall so some of those quantities are higher than I was expecting. Surprising how much can fit in those cups sometimes.

I've said it before, I'll say it again; the staff at Watford Lego Store are AWESOME! Yesterday I bought plant and tree parts from PaB for my "Into the Woods" MOC; went back for more plant stems today, and the ever-wonderful Kevin let me raid a recently-returned opened Ewok Village for branches, trunks, leaves, and log bricks! I filled a small PaB cup with these, which will improve my MOC no end! Thanks Kevin!!

    I love this hobby. :-))

  • carlqcarlq Member Posts: 792
Nope, he asked that I take nothing that was specifically under licence, understandably; I wouldn't dream of asking. :-)
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,526
Their definition of license can be quite strict at times too. R2-D2 legs are licensed, as are The Penguin's. I can understand the torso and head, but his legs ... they are just plain shortie legs in a nice colour.

Another day another parcel, this time containing #7685 the bulldozer, much bigger than I was expecting to be honest, also been testing out my new train layout and sorting a few teething problems, have since discovered that one part is raised and the train doesn't like it at anything approaching full speed, next it'll be leaves on the track stopping play...

Just picked up a used Republic Gunship #7676 off of CL for a very reasonable price. Saves me from buying the new gunship #75021 which I don't like as much. The Clone Wars nose art make #7676 way better. Very happy! :)

My son and I were at the Rockefeller Center, NYC Lego store yesterday and saw on display a great MOC of an old fashioned typewriter, (done by an ILUGNY member). I was admiring it with my son and overheard a father and his 9 or 10 year old son talking about it. The father said it was cool and the son agreed that it was a really cool 'stadium.' (The tiered un-lettered keys looked to him like seats). The father then told him it was a typewriter. The poor kid still had no clue! Guess he'll just have to get out his lap top and google 'typewriter.'

Felt up hundreds and hundreds of cmfs this evening. First time and now have a very sure back. All I can say is thank god I was nowhere near my home town. Was there for ages and the looks I got were something else.

@rancorbait: Congratulations on reaching 18 in one piece! That is quite a feat these days with all of the fast cars and fast motorcycles and their texting drivers.

Glad that you are into LEGO and have many decades to enjoy your hobby. Folks on this forum will help you, so don't be afraid to ask. We have made every mistake possible many times and have some idea of how some things may work! Happy building!

While hunting Target for Series 11 CMFs for my daughter's bday party, I came upon quite a few Series 9 and Series 6! Found two Romans and a Sleepyhead amongst them.

Went to Manchester today and bought one large PaB tub and SEVEN small tubs. That's far more than I've ever bought in one go before. Oh dear...

Still, it did just sneak me past the £50 needed to get the mini VW van :)

You are. It's called Minifig fever. It reportedly started in Denmark. The first cases for this strain in the US were reported on September 1. Don't worry, it is a brief illness, but it does tend to recur every few months or so. ;)

Went into a toy shop yesterday that had the new limited edition technics behind the counter, which nearly made me jump out of my skin to see that in new zealand. I asked how much it was but it turns out some guy had won it in a competition and they were just showing it off.

Ah well, at least the same shop had series 6 7 8 9 and 10 cmfs:)

It's this sodding website. Until yesterday, I didn't own single cmf. A bit of hype and I'm on a mission to secure as many of just a couple of figs as I can. God only knows why!?

^Only buy the ones you really like or that you need for a display. And only buy as many of those as you truly need. Then walk away, Legoboy, walk away. ;)
