2013 Christmas Sets: #40082 / #40083

Rich over on Brickfanatics has reported that brickowl have discovered details of two Christmas sets - #40082 (here) and #40083 (here).

I've had a bit of a look at them, and while there's no pictures, Brickowl does have the set inventories, which give an idea as to what the items are.

They have 54 pieces listed for set #40082, and 61 pieces for #40083. Whether those parts or correct or not I don't know, but the parts seem consistent with winter sets.

Looking at the parts, I'd suggest #40082 is a small market stall selling small xmas trees (2 minifigs), and #40083 is a small truck for transporting xmas trees (with 1 minifig). Personally I'd love both of those!

Looks like Clone Lieu is the October poly too for US so maybe UK will get it in October...

Thanks! I wasn't expecting to see a picture that fast!

Good to know I was pretty much correct though :) Now all I have to do is think what I'm going to buy to get it. Hopefully it'll be free with a £75 spend in the UK.

Looks good to me, I love these little Christmas sets and look forward to picking them up.

Isn't there already a Christmas tree stall from the WV Bakery? That's what I always took it to be. Still, it makes sense to have an extra stall to accompany the WV Market.

Makes me realise how lucky we were last year. Four minifig plus a horse and sleigh. What a freebie that was.

True, but I do like the one pictured above. Even though it's only got a small piece-count, it seems fairly substantial for a freebie.

^^ and it wasn't at the $100 level either was it? IIRC it was $75 / £50. And it came with the brick friday discount, free PAB box. To be honest it seems less substantial than either of the 2011 ones as well.
  • VenunderVenunder Member Posts: 2,668
I think this would be an ideal freebie to go with the WV Market.
Lego seem to think the same.
The other free set should be a market stall too. But an inside set would be also be good for the WV Cottage.
  • PaperballparkPaperballpark Member Posts: 4,270
^ it won't be either. The parts list suggests a vehicle; most likely some kind of flat-bed truck for transporting xmas trees.

I'd wager more like an ATV with a wagon/trailer. Lego loves little four-wheelers.
  • LegoMom1LegoMom1 Member Posts: 651
Love it. Now I won't feel as bad as I did about forking over $100 for the new Winter Village set.

I've always been a sucker for small sets with trees in them. Yup, I'm loving #40082 a good deal. Trying to piece together #40083 from the piece list. Someone mentioned a wagon, but only four tires are in the set. Definitely a delivery truck with dark red accents :)

The 2X14 plate is the biggest giveaway on the truck over ATV concept, as the vehicle would need to be similar to the style/size of the snowplow in #10229 (Winter Village Cottage) or the mail truck in #10222 (Winter Village Post Office). Just glad to see dark red curved-top arches being used for this truck :D

These little promos as well as the series 11 elves will be a very welcomed addition to my Winter Village display. Do we have a release date yet?
  • TheLoneTensorTheLoneTensor Member Posts: 3,937
Well, according to the pic, it says October 14th for the first one, then the other one for Brick Friday.
  • Peter1975Peter1975 Member Posts: 166
Do I get this right. If I want to have both seth's, I have to make 2 different orders over $99,00?
  • PaperballparkPaperballpark Member Posts: 4,270
^ we don't know what the amount is for the Brick Friday set yet.
  • JenniJenni Member Posts: 1,390
@peter1975 that was how it worked in 2011.

That's right. I have just checked my account, and I had a few orders of £50.0X on 17th November that included the Christmas set, and a few just over £100 which also included the 10% discount.

So a free set about twice as big for a lower spend.

@Jenni: Last year I only went for the #3300014. What was the other one again?
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,556
^ That was 2012. In 2011, they did two sets ...

Are they also doing a Winter Scene like the Spring, Summer, and Fall ones?
  • TheLoneTensorTheLoneTensor Member Posts: 3,937
^Sure, it's called the Winter Village Market :)
  • PaperballparkPaperballpark Member Posts: 4,270
Oh excellent! Both are decent sized sets, which is great :)

The cab of the pickup seems a bit squashed to me, but that's a minor quibble really.
  • tamamahmtamamahm Member Posts: 1,987
Well that should work perfectly fine for me. I am not interested in the 2nd set, and will buy my WV set during October during the first promo. I should be able to completely avoid the Lego store on Black Friday.

Those two look excellent to me, I have all the Winter Village products so far so will need to pick these ones up too, and they look well worth having.

Hmm, the truck bed is a bit stunted. Are you supposed to transport the trees standing up? Who does that?
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,730
Really like the truck. Take off the green mini wreaths on the side and it would fit well in any City layout. Nice to have a plain truck that isn't part of a city service or a monster truck rally or whatever.

Probably why that truck driver looks so angry. Likely tired of always having to go pick the fallen trees up off the highway.

Seems like the pic on the box suggests this, but the pic below it of the actual truck seems to look more in proportion. Don't you think?

The first one just about does it for me. The 2nd one? How exactly does that convey Winter, never mind Xmas?

How else are the trees going to get to the Christmas tree stand? ;)

@LegoMom1 yes, I think the angle the box is at isn't good. It looks fine.

@Paperballpark- Just never mind about squashed trucks. Don't you have a new MOC you should be working on? I'm waiting... ;) ;) ;)

^No matter how many times the link is posted, the truck on the box still looks distorted. ;)

^Start searching out those series 11 elves. I've already got 7, and I think I might pick up a few more. You never know when Lego might decide to come out with a Santa's Workshop. I think it might be on the drawing board already. At least I hope so.

They need to be tiny, little elf type hammers. I'll check. Thanks.

^Elf can be identified by square box, square lid, pointy hat with ears, teddy bear with two arms sticking out.
