I have builder's block right now. I need inspiration for my next mini modular. Any ideas?

I just picked up some pink, dark pink, dark red, and dark green bricks...so I'd like to use those, but I don't want to force it.
  • Thanos75Thanos75 Member Posts: 1,120
    @vitreolum ...Thats fantastic.

just took a walk over to the lego store and scooped up #30185 & #40055. The pumpkin looks fine but i'm disappointed that it doesn't open like last year's witch. The build is simple, but lots of nice orange parts. The Eagle is a very nice build for the parts, and a couple of them would look nice with #31004 as it's babies =-) What I really got these for is parts, and hopefully will be able to get more on clearance... the pumpkin is 45 orange parts and a few others that aren't useless, the eagle is a nice collection of small pieces and 9(!!) brown 1x1 flower plates.

Who has time to play with Lego with all the drama going on in other threads? ;)

Awww, does it not? I was hoping it did too. That's a shame. Thanks for sharing @murphquake.

This week my youngest and I have built #79106. #79108, #79109 and #79111. We've now got it set up on the coffee table, with a few more straight track pieces. Awesome play value for the lad - a lot of dead cowboys!

Oh, and I love the dark green coloured pieces. Think I'll have to order up a ton of them and use them to MOC a modular.

Just complete #31010. It's a nice little set. The build was better than expected. In the end it needs more green.

Trying to decide between the Rancor Pit, King's Castle, or LOTR Pirate Ship. I think I'll start on the Rancor Pit.

Someone on the board recommended the new Corporate Alliance Droid Tank set last week so I chose it (Jango to be specific) as my memento from Legoland California. Built it last night and they weren't kidding. It's a fantastic set at $20 RRP with a nice build for the tank and the figs were excellent (aside from the droid).
  • CapnRex101CapnRex101 Administrator Posts: 2,364
^ Even the Droid is great in that new colour in my opinion!

Ya, I built it last week. Got it solely for Jango, but it was entertaining for $20.
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
^^Didn't realize it was a new color for the Droid. In that case, it was a stellar set all around then =)

^Yes it was your positive review that made me take a swing on it. Happy I did.

Built this in ldd last evening, it's the tower of a church from my city. Found anything resembling to the roof impossible to make in ldd... Tempted to make a full scale of this sometime.

Bought & built #7773 & #8964. Impressive build on the latter set, lots of play value. I was on an underwater/Aquazone kick (hence my 7773 purchase) but now am leaning toward a Power Miners kick; we got some of those sets from last yr's Garage sale haul. I may build what Rock Radiers sets we have & combine themes.

Also waiting for my birthday to build #7775 on my 1st day off to myself since June.

  • rancorbaitrancorbait Member Posts: 1,842
@CapnRex101 and I have finished our walking AT-TE, and guess what? IT WALKS! ( of course :-) ) At first I thought it would be a tough one to pull off but it it was actually surprisingly easy. (I thought it was at least)

@Adzbadboy - If you're bored you don't build an old set, you buy a new one. ;-)

Don't worry @rancorbait it was thoroughly cleaned when I got it home.
    For added realism :))

(This model was made possible by the Daylight Cuusso project. They provided me with a LDD file for the other Daylight, (#4449) which I then reworked completely to make into Southern Pacific #4460.)

What makes Souhtern Pacific #4460 so unique is that it pulled the final movment of steam on the Southern Pacific in 1958. The engine was donated to the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis Missouri on April 16th 1959, where it sits today. The only surviving cousin of this engine is the streamlined (& slighlty larger) #4449, which is better known and actually runs. That's where the 4460's nickname of The Forgotten Daylight, comes from.

I plan on building 4460 next month, with the Aerotrain sometime next year.

(This model was delveloped not by me, but by a Brickshelf user. I recreated it in LDD from three pictures.)

The Aerotrain was a 1950's failed expiremental General Motors product. It had a severly underpowered engine, used hard-riding bus bodies for cars, and had problems with matinence. Only two were ever made, and the Rock Island Rairload bought them in the mid '50's and used until 1966. One loco and two cars were given to Green Bay Wisconsin's National Railorad museum, while the other engine (and two cars) were given to the Museum of Transportation in Saint Louis, Missouri, where they reside today.

Here is the Aerotrain so you can build your own:

2 WIP MOC at the same time, an evil castle and a space station. Don't have enough parts for either of them.

Just finished building #7630, I know it's quite an old set but I got it brand new still sealed in its packaging and thoroughly enjoyed making it all the same.

Thanks very much @Canuck26, it was funny setting that up as it was quite windy so the paper kept flapping around plus there were several wagons waiting to go onto the Weighbridge, but thankfully, everybody A- thought I was a nutter
and B- understood what I was doing!
At least it was something different.

Latest unrealistic order request from the kids was for a monorail, so putting together some Hidaka-style monorail tracks to see what sort of PF powered unit we can run on it.
