    Yes, it was in store. Saw them after getting a smoking deal there on some other sets. USA @drdavewatford.

    Nice set...picked up 5 of them. Not bad for $3.99 each. Both TRU stores had about 50 displayed.

    @legomaniac-I got vampire castle, 2x catcycle chase, fierce flyer, Colby city, 5x lawn mower, and crocs boat for about $159 including tax

    I don't think anyone is disagreeing it being a deal. The shock and disbelief is that the deal is coming from TRU. You sure you didn't mean Target, Walmart or any other place? :p

    Haha. You just need to know how to play the game with tru. It also helps I have become friendly with one of the managers.

    ^it started with one order online #9468(this was onsale for $86 and I had a $5 rewards so now $81) and the fierce flyer. I waited until a pomo was offered by tru(%15 off entire order) I placed an order for the catcycle and Colby city which was on sale and had another $5 reward and ordered enough to get free shipping and qualify for the free chima set. I picked up the items in store and then returned them all(you have 90 days to return w/ tru) to use the %15 off of the online sale price. Then I used my %15 off again for the lawn mower and spent enough to qualify for the free chima set again. I guess I could have waited for a %25 promo but who knows how long that would have taken. all-in-all I think I made out ok

    Ok, so when you said "2x of the croc boat" you were referring to #30252 and not #70006 - big difference in my assumptions of your haul. Though I am still hazy on the return shenanigans you describe.

    I guess I look to this forum as being a mechanism for people to share how they do certain things so others can benefit, that and hoping it's all legit. I don't think we've reached that point with your instructions. Unless, of course, you were just tossing it out to gloat, which is ok I guess.

    Well, to be fair, the original intent of his post was to let us know about the lawnmower. The rest was pushed by us wanting a definition of a smoking deal. :)

    That may be true, but the mention of the "smoking deal" was the catalyst. You can't just toss out that kind of phrase without getting someone to say "hey, what's up?"

    At TRU where I rarely shop, today I picked up the Lone Ranger Cavalry Builder Set 79106 marked up to 16.99US so they could sell it for just 9.99US (WHAT A DEAL...WHOOOOPEEEE) and Lawnmower Man 30224 for 3.99US. Then while standing in line, I hit the jackpot....no, it was not Mr. Gold....Hubby is the man of my dreams, sorry!

    I had been trying to find Bumblebee Girl of CMS 10 for weeks, and found her up in the third bag I managed to feel while waiting to check out. Very, very happy about my little Bumblebee...she is quite cute!

    @tensor: sorry I wrote the wrong name. It was #30252. Ok, so, maybe the deal wasn't smokin' after all. My apologies If I mislead everyone. I guess getting 7 poly bags and three small sets at no extra charge and paying less than rrp for the two larger sets and getting my ebates rebate is no big deal when it comes down to it. :::stands in corner with head hung in shame:::

    We went from a comment about a Lawnmower set to a tangent about a 'smokin' deal. I am comforted to see that the Predictions on Discontinuing Sets and Their Secondary Market Value (a record for the longest title?) isn't the only thread that goes off onto tangents. Course the 'smokin' tangent hasn't gone on for pages and pages (yet, he he).

    Getting back on track, no lawnmower yet in Stockton CA's TRU. :(
    I suppose a $3.99 polybag isn't significant enough for a nationwide synchronized "launch." :p

    they are in stock at the Elk Grove, Ca TRU. saw 40 of them today for sure.

    I saw them today at the TRU at 3rd St. and Bell in Phoenix, AZ. It looked ok, but not cool enough for me to want.

    Went to the TRU in Deptford, NJ (near the mall) and they had a few dozen of the lawnmowers on an endcap hangy thing near the primary Lego aisle.

    (There were a lot more Lego "aisles" than there usually are)

    The guy I asked to point me in the direction at first thought I meant #30260 Pump Car (which I've been looking for) but said they sold out almost immediately.

    TRU in Port Huron MI, has the Lawnmower polys. I asked about the LR polys and he said they lasted a day. I not holding my breath that I will find them in the wild.

    They also had both the City and SW advent calenders.

    Btw, this set is pretty cute. The way it's designed, the blades tilt ever so slightly away from the body, making them spin when you push it.
