Why are there still issues with packaging and shipping? It must be costing these firms a fortune in refunded items. The cost of admin/refunding/collecting or replacing items. Are the companies and lego group making sufficient or excessive profit to be able to sustain this apalling service? Even Lego group have had their problems with their couriers - due to inadequate packaging.

In a lot of cases I think they just gamble that the customer will not care if it is only the outer packaging that is damaged and the cost in packing materials and staff are not worth them adding additional packaging vs the occasional replacement request.

Perhaps though some of the blame is with LEGO themselves and they could improve it with stronger retail packaging on their high value sets.

All companies need write-offs so Lego with it's great sales can absorb these small losses.
