    I designed these figures inspired by the Life of George builds:

    -Harry Potter, Voldemort, The Joker, General Zod, Superman, Thor and Captain America.

    -Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie.

    ^ They are excellent!

    My only suggestions would be to add a red 'pacifier' for Maggie, and you could probably use two headlight bricks and cheese slopes to achieve the Starfish shape hair for Lisa.

    A build for all the Lego and supercar fanatics out there!

    Been working all day on designing one of my most favourite things in the entire world with another of my most favourite things in the entire world: Here is my design for a 1:17-ish scale Lego model of a Bugatti Veyron!

    No grille is present, I found it too difficult to replicate in Lego effectively at this scale, so it'll have to be a custom decal instead.
    Next will be to dig out the 802 bricks needed to build it to the exact design and to make some custom acetate stickers to represent the iconic front grille and the rear number plate to apply when I do build it. Pics of the real life Lego model should follow in a few days time.

    Surely one of the harder cars to replicate in Lego due to the complex shallow curvature of the real thing?

    Just finished the delorean (not as bad as the early pics suggested).

    Just got all the lego city trains sets available currently (red passenger,yellow cargo,station,level crossing and 5 boxes of track!). That lot should keep me busy for a while and just moc'd a network rail engineers carriage for the cargo train and will make a few extra freight cars for diggers and the like. .......Next purchase/build will be horizon express (x2 to make the whole train).

    Finished #41999 yesterday and have been playing with it for hours. I was almost late to a meeting today because I got caught up in making an obstacle course for it. I've had my city cars and trucks in boxes for a few months, so I go them out to be "crushed" by the crawler. It's been fun actually playing with a set as I usually just build and display.

    The nice thing about this model is that, as a 14 stud wide car, it displays perfectly with Lego's own 14 stud wide Ferraris and Lambos they've made over the years.
    The roof of the model also pops off easily to create the Grand Sport convertible version, as in this picture:

    So if I'm ever bored of one version, I can switch to the other :-)

    Nearly done parting out #79110 Silver Mine Shootout from collection. Wow theres a lot of varied slope bricks. Color scheme will be off a bit. Kids have been waiting anxiously for me to start building- I have to be careful what I promise them...luckily I'm off work awhile come tomorrow.

    @rancorbait The chrome silver grilles are genuine Lego parts, chromed by Lego, I pulled from my personal Lego collection - had them for years so I can't remember where I got them :-) Quite common, although they disappeared from sets in 2005, so mine are quite old! :-)

    There's also a chrome antenna piece I used for the gearstick - it's a custom chromed Lego piece I ordered from a parts chromer in Poland through Bricklink (Europe has quite a few parts chromers I must say). They're not cheap - I think I paid 1 Euro just for that piece!

    All other silver on the model is metallic silver, including the two quite rare wedges (they only appeared in one set, #8647 I believe) I used for the iconic cooling ducts.

    Ok, the chrome looks pretty good on it.

    I'm hoping to build an old 50s car sometime and i'm going to need a lot of chrome. :-)

    Having #4204 The Mine & #79010 Goblin King Battle really helps with building #79110. On step 58 of the online instructions. Kids getting excited about the play features already there.

    ....and DONE! Stayed up past midnight building, then another hr or so refining/making some changes here & there to make the color scheme more realistic. For example, I initially subbed in yellow slopes for tan, but detemined I had plenty.

    Now to take a building break for a couple weeks, then building Aquabase Invasion!

    Having built the Delorean earlier this week I'm quite enjoying 'fiddling' with it for want of a better word. So far I've changed the wing mirror supports and attached cheese slope to to black, swapped the 4x8 light grey on the hood to black (faux pinstripe) and added some parts to the roof and windscreen supports to bulk it out (i.e. finish it). All in all good fun and it makes a change from building a set and sticking it straight onto the shelf to be admired and dusted. I might even put together a LDD file so I can try some ideas for the hood!

    My introduction to Lego Agents. Think there could be more of this awesome theme to follow in my near future. Love the use of a light brick as a projector. Sad to now disassemble and bag it up until I have a reason to give to the kids.

    Built the Corporate Alliance Tank Droid with the new Jango Fett.. Build was ok, but the new Jango was awesome.

    Took a break from house-cleaning (Mrs Q back from her hols tomorrow ;-) to build #79005 today. Fun, clever build with nice figs (love the Saruman hair/beard piece!). Taking it in to work tomorrow, to place next to #79000 (which I bought my colleague for her birthday) on the filing cabinet!

    Interestingly, the Brickset set-pic of this implies that it comes with a brick separator; mine didn't. Is that the norm for this set?

    ^A wonderful display piece. And the beauty is that it is so recognizable to almost everyone and so sleek and elegant that it can be appreciated by all, not just Lego fans. Enjoy it.

    ^ Just looking at how the model looked as a whole, not just the techniques. Don't know why I didn't say this earlier, but that brick built river looks fantastic! It really does look like water! ;-) Looks like good use of clear studs and plates to me!

    Whatever you do, don't give up MOC'ing, first impressions are really good! ;-)

    ^ The river used 8 Trans-Medium Blue Plate 8x8 over a bed of 2x2 blue and medium-blue tiles. It's one of the techniques I borrowed from Derfel Cadarn.

    @Paperballpark - I love it, very simple, but it takes a lot of time and skill to create an effective natural appearance as you have. Trees in particular are very tricky and you have done a great job.

    @CapnRex101 thanks! The trees were difficult and fiddly to do - the clutch on those limb elements is not great when they're only held on by one stud.

    I dropped the middle tree early on when I was building it and had to re-attach pretty much everything. Even now the two trees to the left and middle are rather delicate, shall we say.

    ^^^^ Thanks for passing the tip on, I'll have to keep that in mind if ever I built myself a river of Lego (pun totally intended :-D )

    ^ No problem, but bear in mind those plates are not too cheap! I bought those 8 from LEGO bricks & pieces for about £1.30 each, but they're now out of stock, so the last lot I bought cost me about £1.60 each from BL.

    ^ At least you didn't have to use trans-light blue 8x8 plates for the river: my jaw dropped when I saw how much those were on BL!

    Makes trans-medium blue sound like very good value, I'll have to consider stocking up on them. Seems to be plenty about at the moment, so no rush. Might try experimenting with clear and blue plates and see how they look.

    I always get inspiration for my own MOC's when I see a really nicely done build too :-)

    Just finished #3536 and #3538. Bought them together for €17,50 on Marketplace. Thought they'd look well in my Winter Village.
