Last night I finished putting together my mosaic of Miles Davis. Next up is starting to sort the 8k pieces for cavegod's AT-AT so I can start building.

About to start #75014 after just taking delivery of it this afternoon. Wasn't interested that much in Star Wars before, but now I've finally got around to seeing the original movies, I must say I have been almost totally converted, this probably won't be my last SW set that's for sure! :-)

Still playing with Lego indoors, even though it must be 33 degrees C here in London!

Nothing. No Lego here with me in Philly :( Just two more months and I'll be HOME!

@graphite, that mosaic is a real beauty! Well done :)

@khmellymel Thanks! I'm waiting on my last parts order for 3 more to complete the jazz quartet =)

Started building #10196 GC last night. I'm modifying it slightly though.. It goes way too fast so I'm adding another set of gears to slow it down. Also, the music brick plays an appropriate song for a carousel, but it sounds awful. I'm going to replace it with a real music box. I know, it's not LEGO, but it will sound way better.

It won't be 100% done until the replacement Flush mounted brick comes in(just got email saying they got my request) but I did just finish the majority of the lego Volkswagon t1 camper van. Been wanting this set for about 1.75 years and I finally got it!

. What i've really been building is monochrome minifigures, got pretty much everything I can do with my current collection done for the time being
    image

I love the solid color minifigs, too! Have built many of them. Sometimes I just turn a printed torso piece backwards to get a solid front color. I began collecting solid color torso about four years ago usually putting lt flesh heads and bare arms on them and turning them into gorgeous ladies. It is so much fun, and you can put them in any setting because their outfits are generic.

Just finished my first clown fish 30025 polybag...it is an absolute screamer! May have to put it in hubby's huge new empty aquarium, which we hope to fill sometime this year. Has anyone built this clown fish in different colors? Finding the parts could be a challenge, but I would love to see it in purple, azure, dark pink, turquoise, and lavender....would make a fabulus gift for sure.

@legogal they're all blank on all surfaces, though the 'knees' can be hard to brasso. I've been working on them and have expanded a bit. Finally finished the old grays & brown, med. dark flesh, got some parts for a few others. With the new summer sets & CMF series 11 i'm hoping to finish another couple (depending on the hand colors on the robot & scientist in s11, and a dark azure head to go with Max Rebo's hands)

here's my most recent pic of the minifigs: image

as for what i've bee building, i went to the lego store monday night and they had #8078 MISB from a return, with a red dot sticker at $50 on it, so i built that, and before that spent a good amount of time modifying the roof, doors and floor/seats of #21003 to actually fit Doc & Marty and hopefully look a bit better...
http://www.flickr.com/photos/murphquake/sets/72157634779739238/with/9359208390/ is a set of the final 2 versions I did... here's what i ended up with (for now)

^I think that's a great balance between the Cuusoo one (which was too square) and the TLG one (which was too triangular). If I knew what extra bricks you need to do that, I might actually consider buying the set.

@graphite - Now you just have to build the other variations! I take it the arms are poseable?

It wasnt planned but after designing it I changed it around and the one eyed version works by taking an eye off and centering one. The taller minions you could do by just duplicating a few layers to make it taller which is what it was at first but I was making minion Dave so I pulled out a few layers. The arms are only connectes by a technic axle so theyre just hanging there and not really posable.

Just finished #60012 and noticed there appears to be a new set of tyres for it(new to me at least if it's already been mentioned) same as the regular sized wheels but very much chunkier tyres.

Started building the #9392 Technic Quad Bike earlier, but then my sister phoned, and the light was going by the time I said goodbye.
As I'm photographing it for my blog, decided to call it a night and will finish up tomorrow.

Just built the main model from #31005 that i got a great deal on a damaged box at the LUG meeting last week... not exactly my cup of tea but a decent build and a nice large micro scale for vehicles (micro meaning too small for minifigs, but on the big end of that scale) .. I'd actually say this would equate nicely to microfigures from games

@plasmodium I'd have to take it all apart and compare it to the original as I just had a bunch of plates and tiles on the table and kept messing with it. The key is the 3x3 plate, which i just popped out from the bottom of the mini Z-95 Headhunter from the #30240 poly and the rest of the pieces are just assorted small plates/tiles/jumpers, and another pair of the drum lacquered 1x2 grille tiles. I used jumper plates to get a half stud offset from the top of the flux capacitor section and attached the 3x3 to that, and built off of it, messing around to get the doors to close and the angles to look right... thought of several elements i'd really like to have had that night =-)

Just finished #60012 and noticed there appears to be a new set of tyres for it(new to me at least if it's already been mentioned) same as the regular sized wheels but very much chunkier tyres.

These have been around for a while. Ironically, though, I think they were first used in #7737, which is essentially the same set (4x4 with trailer and watercraft) in the 2008 Coast Guard theme.

Ooooh so it is, it's the first I've seen of it but then I've only just returned to the Lego fold after many years( I think it's near enough a decade) thanks for correcting me though, may have to go and find that as well when I'm able to again.

If I can- gonna make it down to the LEGO Store next weekend to get the summer Star Wars, probably may wait on some til Christmas sales, same with Ewok Village although I probably wont be able to resist!

The Store is one of my favourite places in the world- full of the thing I love, but I dont spend much time in there, because I dont spend the 45 minute drive not knowing EXACTLY what im gonna get! :D

What can I say- I plan ahead!

I had a very Legoey weekend - I built Arkham Asylum, An Unexpected Gathering, Escape from Mirkwood Spiders and the Council of Elrond!

Still got Barrel Escape, Bat vs Bane, Daily Bugle Showdown and the LR Stagecoach in my build queue :-)

Then I really should get on with my MOC. I'm picking up some nice techniques though :-)

@graphite - I love the 'G' on the front of the overalls, that could stand for Graphite just as easily as it stands for Gru!

Might begin building some sort of dungeon using just the parts from #70402 and #70403. Well, I bought both sets for just the horse and dragon respectively, I'm kinda underwhelmed by the structures themselves, so I'm gonna see if I can combine them to make my own structure! :-) Be a shame to leave the parts unbuilt.
  • TheOneVeyronianTheOneVeyronian Member Posts: 1,372
^ And after a few hours of late night building, it's done: I call it Dragon Mouth Dungeon (because the entrance looks like a dragon's mouth nonetheless).
    Front:

    Gates open:

    Round the back:

    And into the dungeon:

Okay, not the best build in the world, but I turned two sets I was 'meh' about into something I do want! :-)
Now I just need to show the dragon guardian flying overhead...
So that's what I've been building right now :-)

Lol. I always notice after I post that something is odd. His head isn't snapped down all the way causing that gap on the left. Made the top of his head pop off like the floors of a modular so I could get inside to attach the arms.

What an awesome design! Will you be willing to share the love and provide us an instruction? Even just the parts list would be great!
