Hogwarts Express, Need Motor and Track
I have a train (4708 Hogwarts Express). I want to add a motor and some track. The part
#88002 (Train Motor) says it works for a later edition of the Hogwarts Express. I'm wondering if anyone knows if I would be able to make this train motor work with my older version of Hogwarts Express.
What train track should I go with? I don't have any track. I have 4855 (Spider Man Train Rescue) that comes with a very little bit of track (part 3328 Train Track Straight - 4.5V). This type of track doesn't seem to be available. How about set
#8867 Flexible Train Track?
I'm hoping to use this old Lego train set to make a little display around my Christmas tree for the holidays. What else should I get for this purpose? It looks like Lego sells some kind of switching track and also some sort of thing that looks like a controller (maybe with blue tooth). Would those be worth it?

If you want track, you can get power-function (non wired) track from pick a brick at $3 a piece (ugh - way too expensive), but you're better off getting it in a set like the Lone Ranger Constitution #79111. If you want to actually power it, you could get a set with power functions like #7938 (which has the #88002 motor in it). That way you need to only get a battery box #88000 (or the superior #8878 & #8887) and IR controller #8884 to make it go. Of course, fitting it into the engine is another matter. You will likely need to scratchbuild an engine tender to house the battery and IR receiver.
