    Just finished building the Monster truck and cargo lorry, hopefully next week I'll have the race car transporter, coast guard jet ski and some road plates for rearranging my city. After that Cargo plane is another hopeful too, looking like I'm going to be very busy.

    I just built #76000 . My first Super Heroes set and I really enjoyed building it. It's awesome, 3 exclusive minifigures, lot of cool pieces etc, do I need to say more?
    I also picked up #70707 just to try out Galaxy Squad theme, seems like a very interesting build. :)
  • 14hours2save14hours2save Member Posts: 24
    @0909090, I put #70707 together at the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it, I hope you do too. I think it looks fantastic in the brick too. I can't help but feel a bit sorry for the bugs in that set, though. They seem a little out-gunned.

    ^Yeah I enjoyed it, it was very interesting build:) I might pick up few more Galaxy Squad sets sometime in future. And yeah I agree, poor bugs :(

    put together Coast Guard helicopter last night (can't do hash tag thing as my Apple Laptop seems to have it hidden) must say I'm impressed at the size of it relative to the price, can't wait for the other stuff I've ordered to arrive.

    Did you piece together the whole GG? How long has it taken you to source all the parts?

    I do not. It's built to spec without any modifications. There are plenty of pictures of the build in a dedicated thread though. The build itself won't wow you, but it makes for an excellent display piece once finished. IMO, it is much nicer than any of the actual iron man sets and I have received a lot of complements on it from friends who are fans of the comics and movies.

    Yep. I had to order every single piece. I'm relatively new to collecting and really don't have much inventory for building or moc'ing. I mainly have complete sets that I don't re-purpose. Not being able to supplement large builds can really pummel your wallet.

    How much time is involved sourcing the parts will really be based on the individual doing the shopping though. It can be as fast or as long as you want it to be. For me personally, I ordered the parts over the course of a week. I focused mainly on reducing my total number of orders b/c shipping will eat away any gains you get from buying from multiple bargain sellers (most of the time). The key is to find a few good sellers that have the bulk of what you need at a decent price.

    I want to build a lakefront neighborhood with the Creator houses but realizing that all the houses have garages that lead out to the front, and would face the street, rather than the lake. So today going to experiment with the new Creator Family house, #31012, to change the garage into a family room and put a carport out to the side, so the driveway can head in the other direction and all those big windows can face the lake.

    New race car transporter, remake of the mid nineties one I had I think, finished it this morning and it's really smart, although seems a little redundant with nothing else to go with it so perhaps I'll have to see what I can create to go with it.
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,728
    ^annoys me there aren't two cars with that truck. Or even a $5-10 F1 car you can buy separately to go with it. I loved the mid-'90s model that had 3 cars with it when I was a kid.

    You could try the Log Cabin which doesn't have s garage and is perfect next to a lake, especially since it has the guy in the little boat

    That's the one, 3 cars and in awesome liveries. I still have the promotional poster here somewhere that I got with it, something about a Runaway truck.
    Tried to save up my pocket money for the start finish bit but by the time I had the money it was sold out, I was gutted.

    Agree about there being scope to have a race car in one if those little boxes like my jet Ski came in, one of the cheaper ones, could even have multiple liveries of them so that you could actually race them.

    Just built #5886 Dino T-Rex Hunter.

    Dino T-Rex Hunter #5886

    It's actually a really cool set, especially at the $47 I paid. The T-Rex is obviously great, but the Helicopter is bigger then I thought and it has quite a few interesting pieces, I enjoyed the build.

    I agree about this set. Those 6 massive blades are impressive.

    Currently sat sorting out CMFs from Series 1 to Series 10.

    For some reason my spare collection is almost as big as my full complete set and I don't know how it has managed to get so out of control :D

    @charlieboy that's sweet!

    Currently i'm building a 64x48 Lone Ranger themed mine scene MOC based on the TLR mine set. As it stands now i'm finishing up the lower level of the last baseplate (using a pair of 32x32 & a pair of 16x32 set up in a MILS configuration) There will be a partial level above it then a small "mountain and the colby city buildings.
  • dejavudejavu Member Posts: 235
    @murphquake - hey, show us a pic when you're done. I'd like to see that!

    Having built 8631, 8967, 8968 and 8969 at the weekend I'm now building the daddy: 8635. I can't say enough good things about this set. It is one of the best sets I've built in ages. I am so tempted to keep building into the night to finish it but I'll have to stop soon (it being a school night and all).
    Can't wait to get all the Agents assembled, then change this around a bit to make it into a S.H.I.E.L.D command centre; handily, it's already dark blue so not too much modding will be needed :-)

    @Big_Blue_Winky

    This set is for you!

    I haven't had time to build the big sets i've gotten.

    That's very kind of you @skeet318, just searched the number and it appears to be a sporty little number, very nice.

    Since building the harbour on Sunday I've no builds to report, it's all getting the fleet of automobiles sorted at the moment, MOTs and services, looking like an expensive month too for one of them which is going to eat into my Lego budget.

    Olivia's parents from #3315 were tired of spending their days barbequing on their front yard and watching TV . :-) So I helped the LO add a bedroom and bathroom for them. :-))

    I've been building a few things. I've just about completed my Octan Gas Station and currently I am getting the parts to build simultaneously the Cafe Corner and Green Grocer. Missed out on those modulars when they came out. :) Here are a few pics of the Octan Gas Station. I also have a blog if anyone is interested in checking it out. brickagecity.blogspot.ca I have more photos there.
