342 sets
47355 pieces
US$5012.
However, this is only data from brickset, doesn't include our own bricks and creations.
547,000 pieces
valued at $53,000+
all in less than 2 yrs of collecting!
Impressive.
I'm not sure what I'm at, as I am lazy with updating my Brick set list. I also don't add any sets that are for re-sale.
I wouldn't consider a shop's store cupboard part of a 'collection'. More like an inventory.
I had the entire line of Ninja (not Ninjago), Kingdoms and some older Castle sets (all complete with boxes) but sold them off. The sewer backed up into the basement of my old house and these were all - submerged. Luckily they were all that was down there. Someone gave me $300 to go down and take them all - I figured, what the hell, I don't want to scrub them all up. Just the thought turned my stomach...
I still have a few more in a storage unit but I can't even remember what they are - might dig them out this spring.
If I included my inventory, it would be rather large, but that is pointless, it is just inventory, not a "collection".
"You own 131 sets (125 different) 68949 pieces."
BTW is there a way to add qty to the database? I have multiple of some sets and have not seen a way to add the qty?

Is there a record that we know of? I imagine there must be one or two Brickish members who have every set since 1970 or something of that sort...
What's more incredible is that it all packs into my bedroom which is about 20 square metres in area. I'd estimate that I have about 200 sets currently built and displayed or about to be, including my 'small' collection of keyrings.
And yet, I tell myself I need more! I mean at this very moment I'm contemplating an Umbaran MHC to add to my display.
Pity my parents think I'm 'too old' for Lego and I need to stop buying it. I choose to take their advice by completely ignoring it! :-) You are never ever too old for Lego when you're an AFOL! :-D
Anyway. 320-ish sets here, 130k-ish parts, plus 40k-ish loose. CMF not included, but I only have a couple dozen of those. Nothing to write home about.
Also, I'm not a reseller and not an investor, so with very few exceptions those sets are all open, and with fewer exceptions still they are all different. My collection actually is a collection, and actually is mine. Sorry, person with 80+ Diagon Alleys, you will have to get off my lawn.
My goal is to have as many different parts in as many different colors as humanly possible. I am quite literally a collector by that definition as well.
So even though my LEGO barely occupies two Billy bookcases, I am in a very comfortable position already. Whenever I'm building something and arrive at that point of "wouldn't it be nice if I had [rare part X] in [impossible color Y] to fit right in this spot", I just make two steps, grab that very part off the shelf and use it. It's luxury. Pure, distilled joy.

SETS: 328
PIECES (not counting huge random brick lot, currently sorting) 126843
FIGURES: 990
My new goal is to get to 1000 mini figures and since I have mostly everything I liker thats currently out, I plan to reach that goal after saving up this month for the new SW sets!
My minifig-only collection passed 300 figures last month. Wooh.
I've also added a couple of items that aren't sets as we know them. I picked a near complete Ferguson tractor (it's missing a screw) that's in very good shape, no noticeable warpage. And a couple of Klodsen sets. These are the wooden block sets from the late 40's. I've got 18 and 36 block sets.
And at 19 years turning 20, I think I've got an impressive personal collection, and it's only getting bigger. I'm not into the MISB and reselling game, unless I see very rare sets turn up cheap, or they're polys (I tend to keep some of those MISB after learning their typical aftermarket value!)
