Questions on Advanced Collection Manager (ACM)

Hello,

first I would like to apologise if this is not the right place to add a suggestion, but I couldn't find another one.

I would like to know if it would be possible in any way, to be able to insert how much you have paid for each set you have purchased and is in the "I own List". I think it would be interesting to be able to see some of the sets value changing over time and be able to know how much you have originally paid for it.

I have been doing this on the side notes so far, but maybe there could be another small section that would appear next to the retail price or something like that?

Thanks and happy "Legoing"! :)

You'll be wanting to use the advanced collection manager, make sure you're logged in to Brickset, then use this link http://www.brickset.com/mysets/acm/ or just browse to the my sets page and you should see the link. Once activated, you can record loads more info about your collection.

You can already do this. If you go to my sets. Then click on advanced collection manager this allows you to select what information you record. Chose from the tick boxes what you would like to record for each set, one of these is price paid for it. Click save and make sure its enabled at the top of the page it asks you this. Then when you return to the list of sets you own underneath the tick box and next to side notes should appear a series of what look like long lines. Click on this and you can record the price you paid for it. This can only be seen however if you are in table or list viewing mood.

    Hope that makes sense.

Hmm...something's strange I have activated the ACM mode and and it doesn't show the mentioned table next to the "I own it". And In the ACM tab I can't edit anything.

    Any thoughts?

Ops...never mind silly me. I didn't realize you have to scroll right to be able to select edit.

^ that gets a lot of people. I had the same issue. It just isn't that obvious that the ACM part scrolls independently.

@Legoboy I was tempted to put in the one featured in the original trillogy blu ray. But could find a good version.

@huw I added set 721 to my collection manager last night and it did add it to my total of sets. But when I analyze my collection the set isn't listed anywhere in the sub-themes column. That is if I click on any of the columns in the 4.5v/12v category, the set isn't listed in any of them whether it's one of the 104 sets in inventory or the own/don't own column. If you search it by number, it does bring up the picture and the own/don't own list and all and it is under the 4.5v/12v sub-theme. That is the only way you can view it.

Just imported my collection to Brickset because this seems to be the best site for data on retired date. As I sell my collection off, I wanted to move the most retired sets first. But collection manager does not show retired date. Is there a report available of my collection which shows your data on retired date? Thanks
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
I don't think there are any "official" retire dates, but in the query manager you can select "Removed from S@H in the US" etc as a good judge of when it was no longer available. So if you just want anything not currently available just set that query to yesterday and then AND it with "sets i own".

@BubbaM this query should do the trick - http://brickset.com/sets/query-1764
