Finished the Sopwith Camel earlier today, that was a great build! Now I started "landscaping" my city layout. Starting with the beach.

Building #7779, #7783 and almost completed Iron Mans lab!

Just completed #76003 Superman: Battle of Smallville. Really fun build. The Kryptonian ship is gorgeous, and built with a nice range of parts; the military vehicle is a fair bit more complex than it looks (I love the fact that it seats two abreast); and the minifigs are excellent. No idea how it ties into the film, but it’s an excellent playset regardless.

(In addition, I celebrated receipt of 2 Elronds from @Samiam by opening one of them. You were right, Samuel, it’s a really beautiful fig! :-)

I'm not building this week but taking apart. I bought #8289, #8671, #7691 and #7693 all used and mostly put together. I will need to clean them thoroughly first, so I think I'll be pulling all the stickers off too. Should be interesting, since I've never bought used before.

Finishing up #10240. Just finished #10227 but nephew knocked it over...so may take it apart and rebuild it again to make sure all parts are there. Not his fault...
  • binaryeyebinaryeye Member Posts: 1,831
I built #75003 last night. It was nice to build something quick for a change; the last three sets I built were #9493, #9492, and #7965, in that order. Of course, it took longer than it should have because my 2.5 year-old was sitting on my lap while I built it. Every time I took my hands off the build, he would put one of the minifigures (usually the pilot's body with Akbar's head) on top and start "driving" it around the table with accompanying "ssshhheeewww" sounds. Many of the pieces yet to be used found their way to the floor.

Building an elaboration on #5770. Doing the waterfront restaurant, adding more seating space and a swimming area.
  • pillpodpillpod Member Posts: 273
Just finished #79003. Picked it up on Amazon for ~$55 + free shipping. Well worth it and it gave me 4 of the Hobbit dwarves that I'm collecting. Only need a few more since I've also traded for a few of the others.

Great build and should make for a nice looking display piece.

Just got done with #9525 which I have been putting off but actually looks pretty cool. Much better than the pics anyway. Also got a spare sticker sheet & oddly Palpatines hair piece from 'Palpatines Arrest'. Now I just need the other 644 pieces!
  • CapnRex101CapnRex101 Administrator Posts: 2,364
@Englishbob - Palpatine's hair is supposed to be included for use with Pre Vizsla.

Just finished Iron Man's secret lab from the online instructions and am now wondering - why did we get a mansion attack set that was somewhat subpar instead of an official Tony Stark's workshop?
  • binaryeyebinaryeye Member Posts: 1,831

Just finished Iron Man's secret lab from the online instructions and am now wondering - why did we get a mansion attack set that was somewhat subpar instead of an official Tony Stark's workshop?

Because there is no conflict in the workshop.

  • scarecrow2400scarecrow2400 Member Posts: 99
There may have been no conflict in the workshop but at least that would have been a set that would have tied directly into the whole Iron Man trilogy/Avengers thing the Lego Group seems to be going for.

Just finished 4998 Creator, the Stegosaurus instructions with daughter. Very nice build and much bigger than we were expecting! Anyone have experience building Lego Creator Prehistoric Power (4892)? Thanks,

Working on MBA Level 3, #20206, #20207 and #20208, I find them much better than level 2 (may be just more my style).
  • dejavudejavu Member Posts: 235
Finished my elaboration on #5770 Lighthouse Island (only I did the seaside restaurant instead). Added more seating area outside and some waterfront fun.

^ The hair on the water skier is awesome.
  • pillpodpillpod Member Posts: 273
Built #79003 the other night and decided it needed a front yard/landscaping. There's still more to be done if I can get more pieces to use...and the rest of the dwarves.

  • dejavudejavu Member Posts: 235
@pillpod - I have SO been debating about whether to buy this set. Is it a fun build?
  • pillpodpillpod Member Posts: 273
@dejavu - I don't buy many sets but this one was a must have for me. I had just finished reading the book (ya ya, I'm late to the party on that) so it seemed appropriate. I also wanted to collect all 13 dwarves...so it seemed like the perfect set to house them.

The build was great and it came with the best dwarf of all...Bombur! I'd suggest getting it. Amazon still has it on sale + free shipping. I couldn't resist.

Just finished building my BL'd #10185 Green Grocer :)

We're you faithful or did you take some liberties? I'm about to start mine and am trying to plan what to do. Some is just cost like using regular 1x2 sand green, but I also want to furnish the inside a little more.

    ^ faithful except for substituting the 50x 1x8 Sand Green brick for 50x 1x4, 25x 1x2 and 25x 1x6.

Interestingly, those are noticeably lighter than the other Sand Green bricks I used. I think someone said the Haunted House is slightly lighter Sand Green, and I'm guessing that's where they came from.

No matter, it still looks good :)

Finished #6382 Fire Station (1981), @8854 Power Crane (1989), nearly done with @6383 Public Works Center (1981) which is missing three pieces, all built from last bulk buy.

Imperial Hotel, it took three Mothers' Days (English (for church), American/Australian (because we are) and French (because we're here)) but I finally have LEGO.

I'm building the Town Hall, #10224, for the 2nd time, but this time trying to inject some storylines involving Snape. He is my favorite minifig. Plus I have a crush on Alan Rickman...

While moving #7879 to take a better pic of the SSD for @princedraven it slipped from my grasp and is currently in pieces all over the floor. I suspect parts have shot under furniture as they do so not quite building, more retrieving. Completely my own fault but Geoff I am still going to beat you ;-)

Finished the B-Wing this past weekend, I am quite impressed with it and glad I decided to purchase it. It will be a nice edition to my collection. I am also pretty sure it is the only one in Afghanistan right now.

I picked up a couple of the #9466 Crazy Scientist sets. So lastnight I put it together. The car that came with it was just plain silly. I didnt like it at all...but the Scientist and Monster parts were a great build. Lots of nice pieces.
  • iancam33iancam33 Member Posts: 407
That was the idea of the car. To be a throw back to "B" horror movies and weird contraptions from that era. I think it looks kinda cool.

Also may BL Slave I from the same garage sale haul.

Building the new king's castle. So far a really nice set as I am only half finished.
  • OldLegoOldLego Member Posts: 28
Started #9396...lost a piece so ordered one from Ebay (dumb I know...lesson learned). So I started building #10240 in the interim. Thats done...the piece is back so I finished up the helicopter and will be adding the power options today.

Not sure what is next...rebuild the B-wing cuz it took a nephew hit and I'm not sure what is missing. I bought #8274 and have the VW Camper Van but I'm thinking I may keep the VW in the box.

I have been tossing around the idea of Bricklinking the GC, then saw a post on this forum, I don't remember who it was, but thank you for the idea of a Blue Grocer (Sand Green substituted by Sand Blue) and to avoid a blue overload, I changed to awning to be red/white. I am really pleased with the result.

Just finished my Bricklinked "Dark Purple" Cafe Corner.
For cost reason, substituted doors, windows, panels and birds (replaced them by owl after increasing the arch height by 1 plate).
Not cost related, but to give it some flair, I replaced the dark blue with dark purple, had to make up a few pieces but it worked out in the end, I really like the results.
Until the build, I never noticed that Cafe was spelled with tiles on the sidewalk...

Just built #76006 Iron Man: Extremis Sea Port Battle with my nephew. Cool speedboat although irrelevant to the movie! But as always with Super Heroes sets its all about the minifigs... and they are ACE!!
