Wish List

dejavudejavu Member Posts: 235
I have a mental wish list of sets I'd really like but which are either no longer available or simply too expensive (Green Grocer, anyone?), but I also have a wish list of sets currently available at LEGO and they add up to over $500. I'd really like to collect the newest Creator houses and build a whole lakefront community with all the Creator houses. Wouldn't mind getting the whole Lone Ranger set too.

What about YOUR wish list?

@dejavu I think a lot of people probably have Green Grocer and Cafe Corner on their wish list, so you are not alone. I have a good chunk of the Recent Creator Houses. They are neat.

My list is quite small but expensive :(

Cafe Corner (brick linking at present and am missing 20 pieces - these last pieces bring tears to your eyes)
    Green Grocer
    Creator Lighthouse
    Shadow Leonardo
Store Opening CMFs from Liverpool / Manchester / Sheffield / Stratford / Munich / Glasgow
Harry Potter Hagrids Hut - 3rd Edition
    Winter Village Toy Shop
Polybags - Jor-El / White Bona Fett and Chrome Vader

There are quite a few sets that I had missed and would love to have in my collection but my wish list really only covers 10196 Grand Carousel...

    Yep, definitely have a wish list;

    Early pirate ships
    #8421
    Grand Carousel
    Dragon
    Keebler Elf
    Ronald McDonald
Plus some of the current and upcoming new sets!

It's all about finding the early sets at a reasonable price when there is enough disposable income to be able to buy without later regrets.

@atxlee and @AFFOL_Shellz_Bellz: I have a MISB Grand Carousel that I've been thinking about selling. I'd probably be looking for close to the eBay/Bricklink going rate with a slight discount since there wouldn't be any fees. Let me know if you're interested.

Basically every exclusive set that has been retired. :( Probably won't get around to buying them unless I win the lottery or something.

Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle (Sorcerer's Stone)- I missed out on it because I just couldn't get it in 2001 because it was too expensive, now it's too expensive too, sealed sets are even 4 times expensive than in 2001 and I cant find any castle in good condition neither.
I would get any other Hogwarts Castle too, but price isn't much different anyway. :(
Of course I want a lot other things too, but Hogwarts Castle was something which I've always wanted.

@jtr - anyone know when the town centre will be available?

I've been trying to negotiate the total cost of my wish list lately by striking things off and working out the best times to buy various sets.

One of the problems I'm having is that I started down the modular route with the GE, but struggling with the decision to take it further. When I have other themes I like to collect (particularly SW, with huge exclusives coming out twice a year), it puts me in the horrors to tot up the price of the remaining modulars that are on the market. The GE looks nice on its own, but it's hard not to see it as incomplete.

For SW, I've been making googley eyes for the SSD lately, as I mentioned in another thread. I also want to get R2D2, but I'll likely have more time to pick him up.

For Superheroes, it's all about Batman for me. I mostly want the minifigures here; there are only two actual sets I want, which are the Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape (which can't have too much of a shelf life left) and Arkham, which I have ages to worry about yet.

    Prioritising is hard!

I am getting pretty excited about the #41999 Technic Co-Creation car. Not even that into Technic that much but that one just caught my fancy. Looking forward to getting the Orthanc Tower as well.

I would say UCS Falcon but that ship has sailed for me and I am focusing on the obtainable.

We have very similar tastes and dilemmas.

Pretty sure I'll be picking up the rest of the Modulars. Fire Brigade is the only one currently in our home.

And yes, the Star Wars sets just keep coming. Thankfully I managed to get some bigger ones out of the way early (DS,SSD,IS,B-W) and now I just have as far back as R2 to grab. But that's still R2, X-Wing and now EV.

Just ordered Arkham Asylum yesterday and only have the Superman sets to complete everything from this year. But I may have to draw the line somewhere on the superheroes if they keep releasing as many as they did the past 2 years.

I've completely ignored LOTR, TMNT, and more recently Lone Ranger sets. They are all great themes but I just can keep up.

Ninjago to a big chunk of last years Lego budget as well. But I THINK we may be finished with that theme (for now anyways).

I have a very small wish list. I pretty much have all the sets I want Grand Carousel, All the modulars, UCS MF. I do want a chrome C-3PO.
  • EKSamEKSam Member Posts: 349
The only one on my wish list is the #10189 Taj Mahal. There are others I have wanted but none of them come close to the Taj Mahal. *sigh*

    Of the current sets
    #31012 family house
    #31010 tree house.
Unless these are exclusives, I will buy these at Fred Meyer. :-)

    Yet to be released
The Winter Village Market, the Friends Dolphin Cruiser and High School.

    @dejavu
I have all the creator houses except the aforementioned ones and the #4954.:-) I set them up like a neighborhood come Christmas time and decorate with micro LED lights.:-) Good Luck with your Lakefront community, it will look great.

  • dejavudejavu Member Posts: 235
I too want the Winter Village Market. I have the whole winter village collection so far, couldn't let there be a gap! The #31010 tree house is one I only just saw yesterday for the first time. And, of course, the town centre when it's available. Oh, I see the dollar signs mounting...Lucky for me, my husband's passion is for snow skiing, a very expensive hobby. He simply can't complain much about mine.

    Ditto...

I had, at one point, all the LOTR sets in the "build" pile, but I have now moved them to the sell shelves. No time, no space.

If I find TMNT on clearance, I'll pick some up for my youngest son in case he wants them, but otherwise ignore.

Lone Ranger? Western town theme is cool, but no time or space. Will get the train, we love trains! :)

My wishlist of retired sets currently consists of #7189 Mill Village Raid, but I don't want it too badly tbh. I did have Green Grocer on that list, but I finished Bricklinking that about a week ago :) Cafe Corner and Market Street I might BL at some point, but I'm not terribly bothered about them.

Current sets wish list includes #10218 Pet Shop, #10224 Town Hall, #10232 Palace Cinema (I have FB and GE), #10234 Sydney Opera House, and #10235 WVM

My wish list so far consists mainly of the larger retired SW sets that I missed or couldn't justify the cost back then, AT-ATs, ISD, IS etc etc.

Now with the SW rehash machine churning away I hope to see maybe a few of the sets I missed first time reappearing in the future.
Now as I'm getting better at justifying the price of Lego the choice I have to make is pick up retired sets while prices are still climbing or wait for possible re-releases.

The first two winter sets would be nice 10199 toy shop and 10216 bakery

I have had five or six GC pass through my hands, however I keep selling them. :)
  • PoochyPoochy Member Posts: 479
Currently for me, Imperial flagship, Winter Toy Shop, and Eiffel Tower. The first two are actually within striking distance for me budget-wise, except my brain is currently refusing to accept the increase above RRP that those two had taken (illogical, I know).

At some point in the past, I thought I had to have GG and CC, but for the ongoing price, I realize that I would rather get 6 or more custom-made modulars instead (or save that money for newer sets, or army building).

Thanks for the offer, but it really doesn't fit our budget right now, not to mention the lack of space for it.

I'm surprised at how high the prices on recently EOL Ninjago sets are. I just want things like Kai's Blade Cycle and it's $30, from an original price of $15. Or, 20something plus shipping from Bricklink. And it's a 2012 set! Curse them ninjas, being popular! (You would think Lego would keep each Ninjago set out longer because hot damn there seems to be demand.)

I guess my wish list right now, if I'd be permitted to fantasize, would be thus:

    Kai's Blade Cycle
Ultra Sonic Raider (All four ZX ninjas and stuff)
Elemental robe Zane/Cole/Jay and their elemental swords
More of the old ninja figs from the late '90s. I loved 'em so much when I got them back in the day.

I guess I'd want more Chima stuff too? Twin Bike or whatever. My wishlist is boring because I'm not really into huge sets nor Star Wars.

Oh, there is one thing, though: I would want a giant pile of the space Orcs from Minifigs S9. Yes please! (Yeah sure Lego, call 'em "alien avengers". We both know you like Warhammer 40k a bit too much!) But that would be pretty expensive for figs I'd probably just keep lined up or in a pile.

If there was any conceivable way I could get a UCS ISD in the $500 range, I'd do it. I swear I might trade my 3rd kidney for one. In the mean time I'll continue to get caught up on SW (4-6) and LOTR sets before they retire.

They have to be that high. After selling fees and shipping and packing supplies etc, $30 will soon be down nearer $20. If a reseller bought at $15, they need to sell at $30 to make any profit.

Updated wishlist consists of new Super Heroes wave, Lone Ranger wave, Black gate and Pirate ship in LOTR, new Creator houses, Petshop and Palace Cinema, Police Station, Airport, Fire Station, and lots n lots of vegetation pieces and trees....and of course the early 2013 wave in City sets....

If we get out of the realm of sets and go into individual items, then yeah, there are a lot of CMF's I'd add to my wish list, plus road plates (I WISH they'd sell them in two-packs of straights!), and a lot of tree and vegetation stuff.

The train my be on our shipping list as well.

I think it's a great train to modify for a Christmas Train for the WV town. That stage coach could also fit in nicely to a WV scene as well.

The ever growing list grows a little more.

I have a lot of sets, but run out of space, so i cant collect them anymore.
I like most my 3 Modular Houses: Market Place, Green Grocer and Cafe Corner. As the Firebrigade came i stopped because of space and i dont really like it. The new Cinema is cool and the Death Star. But i have to sell other sets to get money and space for that.
Now i just collect Minifigures, they are small, lovely and not so expensive ;)
If anyone has some special prints, marketing Minifigures or other rare ones to offer, please contact me. Thanks

@EKSam- Thanks for the pics. I know many here are purists about what they add to their sets, but I sprinkle hobby/crafters type snow on my display. I feel it adds "realism" and also adds a winter wonderland type softness. If you get the opaque, matte type snow and add small, strategically placed bits of the clear, sparkly type, it can really add to the overall effect. Trick is to stop before you overdo, and if the kids help, you might have to do some snow shoveling after they've gone to bed, but it's worth it! Again, thanks for sharing your display.
