In my area (Stockton, CA), they're moving the mining sets to the clearance endcaps but they're still full price. :(

Was at one Target on Sat night and two(2) #4204 The Mine for $49.99 on a 30% off clearance shelve, so I only got one...because I already had two...so today I stopped by the same Target and the other one was still there but someone had stuck it behind some Police Stations. So I took it up to Customer Service to see if I returned/brought back the one I bought Sat. night could I get the two for B1G1 50%. She said no..it wouldn't be fair to others. So I took it to the other Target (10miles away) and they gladly let me return both sets (of which neither was bought at their store) and let me get the B1G1 50% deal. Plus when I bought the 2nd #4204 I also purchased the City Cement Mixer for $10 for the deal and when I returned everything..she just gave me the Cement Mixer back for $10...so total for all 3 items were $82.xx. Thank you Target!

Usually these threads leave me feeling left out, since City Target is hardly a place to find bargains (mine has marked up the #75003 A-Wing to $28, for example). Yesterday, though, I found #6866 Wolverine's Chopper Showdown for $5.98. I couldn't quite believe it but a quick barcode scan proved it, and apparently the REDcard works even on clearance items. So that was nice.

If your talking about the hyperlinked set -#'s.... Ive tried that manytimes, it pulls up a brickset form search for the use of that number. It doesnt link to a set list or review or anything like that.

Just got home, target has all Monster fighters reduced and bogo50 on City and Galaxy Squad sets. What suprized me was the two sets had to be the same brand.. ie GS + GS and City + City. Never seen it befor and a little disapointing. I got the LR Stagecoach and the woman got a MF she needed.

If you're on the normal website from a PC etc it goes to the set detail page. If you're using it on a mobile device it does the search for some reason.

Found the Power Mech creater set for 12.03 at a local Target in Portland Or.
Checked the rest over the weekend and saw no other Clearance items at any of the other Targets on the east side of the river.

I picked up 3 of the mine excavator transports and the newer orange flatbed tow truck with maroon sports car for a total of $65 after the clearance markdown on the 3 mining sets and bogo sale.
Good news for the Brickset raffle hospital donations as this fantastic buy will be heading over to Cohen Children's Hospital!

Dropped by Target in Redmond, Wa, 2 days ago, nothing on clearance, the garbage truck could be had for $21+ tax , oh goody. Monster Fighters were on sale. Fred Meyer next door though had all the Friends sets 20% off, Seaside house for $35 plus tax and gungan sub #9499 for $39+ tax if I am not mistaken.

@bmwlego Awesome job, I love reading these threads where members are finding deals and donating their finds. Way to go. :-)

This isnt a markdown...but it's at Target. If you get tired of little sorting bowls littering up the place, Target has some collapsable silicone bowls in the dollar spot at the front of the store. YMMV, of course.

I got a few of them, and they are perfect. Saves space once collapsed, silicone is easy on the Lego, and it's naturally nonslip material. It's like they were made for Lego sorting. Anyhoooooooooooo.....
  • PoochyPoochy Member Posts: 479
^ Can you provide a pic or URL of these bowls?
  • jasorjasor Member Posts: 839
^It's in the Dollar Spot, so it's not available online. I have already sent the packaging to rubbish. They were in assorted colors, and 2pack - one "bowl" and one "cup" ....but really just a medium size bowl, and a smaller bowl.

My local target (Elliott city) had the bogo 50% on city, galaxy and chima. 9462 was dropped to 3.58, 9461 was 50%. I felt through the cmf packs and found 2 of 3 that my kids wanted- medusa and the bee girl- under the heavy scrutiny of staff

I wish my local Target started clearances at 70% off. I'm lucky to find anything at the initial 25%.

I did notice, while at Target today, that they've dropped the price to essentially match Wal-Mart and Amazon on Jabba's Palace at $95.99.
  • scotty12scotty12 Member Posts: 835
I found a #9470 and 3 #31007 for $5.98. They were sitting on the shelves without any clearance tags.

i was surprised too. first time i scored one something. dunno if it was meant for friends and family. i found it on a home section :) so may be it was there all along in different section hence no one saw it and it manage to survive till it got reduced to that price... dunno at all... seems like a lottery :P LOL i wish it was a powerball

Think I may have missed a big one at my Target. There were at least 5 Helms Deep sets sitting on the shelf six days ago. They've been sitting there for months. I checked back today bc ive been waiting for the eventual mark-down and they were all gone. Their original spot had been labeled for the LotR 2nd wave. The clearance racks were empty, so I can only assume someone got very lucky.
  • adol7adol7 Member Posts: 150
You might not have missed out. I've seen some LOTR & Monster Fighters on end caps the last few days but still at full price.
I did, however, get lucky with the Excavator set. It was still marked at full price w/ no clearance stickers, but it rang up at 70% off (Stockton, CA). Shame there weren't more.
  • crosseyedpiratecrosseyedpirate Member Posts: 44
Target it maddening, after last weekend, Helm's Deep went to "out of stock in stores" on the website and all the sets seemed to disappear overnight. Maybe the employees buy them all. Good for them I guess.

The sets that were pulled from the shelf for the summer stock were put in back stock at all the store by me and i was told they are dico so they shud go markdown soon

Interesting. I've never found a set to ring up differently if it is still shelf tagged at Target.

That makes a lot more sense. The HDs at my Target have been there forever and a day. There is no way they all sold in five days unless there was a steep discount. I wondered if they may have been pulled and put in back stock, I just didn't know why a store would do that. I worked at K-Mart for years. back in those days, once something hit the floor it there to stay.

When I heard about the sale Target was having on the mine set and excavator hauler set I ran to my local Target and found everything gone. There was no way they were all sold. That was two weeks ago. Yesterday I went in and found an end cap the the big "clearance" sign on it and there were two excavators and a couple of the creator sets that were on sale....no mine set. So it explaines why I didnt see any two weeks ago.

Went to 2 different Target stores today, and had the store item number with me for Helms Deep. Got the same story both places. There were 2 or 3 Helms Deep's that had been moved to the stockroom, available for full price. They said they were "discontinued". One employee said the sets would be going back to the manufacturer. This is something new; the routine they followed up to this point (including Weathertop and Shelob) was to put them on an endcap and start marking them down, usually at 30% off to start. Not sure what to make of this, but it is not good news. I wanted a Helms Deep or 2 at a good price!
  • kwkwkwkw Member Posts: 1,209
^That's a bad sign. Retailers returning overstock, due to not having enough shelf space cause of the oversaturation of new sets, to their supplier (presumably for the price that they paid for it) rather than clearance the product at a small loss. This means that the days of Lego clearance deals at major retailers will be slowly coming to an end :(
  • norm103norm103 Member Posts: 301
They most likey will not be sent back is just the two cycles were missed aline with a reset and the markdown. No need to panke
  • CircleKCircleK Member Posts: 1,055
HD can be had from Amazon for $106.77 right now. While not a great discount, that's still 18% off RRP. I was really hoping to pick a couple up with a 30 - 40% discount for resale though.

So every Target must have universally pulled their HDs from the shelves this past week. I expect to see them make it to the clearance cap eventually. It looked to me like they were removed b/c the layout was being reset for LotR Wave 2. Their spot at my target was relabeled for the pirate ship specifically.
  • juggles7juggles7 Member Posts: 451
Despite what the employee said, I doubt these are going back to the manufacturer. These sets have been in a retail environment, have been handled, have at least some wear and tear so I don't see them being sold elsewhere other than a retail environment. I think it's more likely they're just in the stockroom temporarily during a reset, and will eventually see clearance. I'll check every few days and let you know what happens...

I saw a Helm's Deep still on the shelf Friday night still marked $129.99. This store didn't have any LOTR discounted and also still had a few Orc Forge sets left on the shelf.
  • juggles7juggles7 Member Posts: 451
Target is holding out on discounting Helms Deep, while Wal-Mart is holding out on discounting Gandalf Arrives and Weathertop. I hope shoppers will win this battle of nerves by not buying at full price.
  • oldtodd33oldtodd33 Member Posts: 2,694
I was at a Target today that had 3 Helms Deep sets and they were still marked at 129.99. Much to my disappointment.
  • jasorjasor Member Posts: 839
When POTC was clearanced along with Creator Lighthouse, and remaining AC line...my Target had them on clearance for about a week, then they pulled stock, and sent to the manufacturer.

I was there the day they pulled it, and it was off the clearance aisle. It does happen. I got a Black Pearl off them before it went away forevs, and was able to give to my lil bro for Christmas
  • PoochyPoochy Member Posts: 479
The TGs around me usually get rid of their clearance left-over by sending them to be auctioned off. I got this info by speaking to a store manager (we noticed some clearance items in the customer service areas with a special sticker and asked about them).
  • juggles7juggles7 Member Posts: 451
I see Target-clearance items at the local Goodwill. I believe Target marks the stuff down 3 times, then gets rid of it. Of course, you hardly ever see a Lego set at Goodwill. I'm surprised that manufacturers would even accept returns from retailers, unless the products are defective.
  • starwarfan77starwarfan77 Member Posts: 341
i have seen #9469-1 discounted @walmart around my area for couple of times. @$9,00 rrp is 12,99 Two stores that discounted don't have them any anymore and one still has them @ full price. Looks like this discount and clearance everything depends on the store manager.

Just found 3 Mine sets for %70 off at my local target. The mine set lost it's place on the shelves at least 3-4 weeks ago and this is the first time I saw it on one of the endcaps. I initially went to check Helm's Deep, but that is still on the shelves at full retail in the Black Gate's spot.
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
^ what area? I haven't seen a mine in any Target in Socal, although the Mine displays are still up.
  • DougoutDougout Member Posts: 888
Taunton, Massachusetts. I was very surprised as well, I've never seen that big of a discount before. Hopefully the Weathertop set will appear on an endcap at a steep discount for me too.
