    Finished GE today :)

    The flower part was the closed top style rather than the open top needed to fit on GE, so I've ordered another part from Lego.

    Since Lego does not do Military vessels , i had no choice but to go rogue . Finished this Friday eve . Presenting USS ICITAP . Approximately 2200 pieces , 4 feet 3" long . 5.8 inches wide at its meatier sections . Its completely brick and plates , no single big mould piece .
    Mean to neaten it up a bit still ,tinkering here and there but that will have to wait . For now , to find a spot to display this giant , likely the office .

    Just put together #4204 city mine last night. Nice set but what I found really frustrating is the difference in brick colours. 2 shades of red, not like red and dark red but red and red, same with yellow and reddish brown. It almost looks like some of the parts are sun bleached.

    Question is, do I write to LEGO and complain? Had a similar issues with other recent city sets and even a Fire Temple where one 6x8 black plate wasn't quite black. It's not a disaster but it's becoming more frequent.

    ^ Not exactly the same but I picked up some PaB stuff in those Xmas boxes and found the same thing. Swirly yellows paired with solid yellow and white 1x8 bricks, well, when you stack them, you can feel the inconsistency in the brick width. It should be smooth but it is obvious they are lesser quality bricks.

    ^ the red bricks were 1x2s where some were notably lighter and also a 1x1x3 with clips with a different shade of red like the lighter 1x2s. The yellow was a mixture of 1x2s, 1x2 with grille pattern and the crane arm. The technic beam was a 'darker' yellow.

    Could just be a bad batch but now that's a dozen sets that have significant colour differences. shame really.

    PlasModium .... Yess... Our flat is on floor 2! I was proud of the fact that it held well despite the weight and length ...managed to take it down the stair and into th the car , but as I was placing it on the car floor ... Crack !!! .... Shock..blurr.. Didn't disintegrate totally , but let's say I had to spend some 30 mins at 10 pm at night , fixing the breakage at 2/3rd length portion, frustrating ... Now it sits proud on a big office table. :)

    It won't be coming back , when the time comes it be decommissioned and sent o ship breaking right there.

    @Paperballpark Good luck. I ordered the part from the website and got the same wrong part. Then I called customer service and again got the wrong part because I believe the wrong part number is listed in their system. Finally I looked up the part number on bricklink and gave that to the rep and finally got the correct part.

    If you want a temporary solution, attach the flower you have to a 2x2 round plate (http://www.brickset.com/parts/?part=4211159) and then attach to the faucet. A small portion of the plate will be visible around the indentations of the flower though so I recommend using a gray plate so it blends in with the background of the roof.

    I built a version of Anthony Savas' 2-8-4 Berkshire bac kin November and posted it here on Well, I just finished ordering parts from BL for this mosnter locomotive shed:

    ...and yes, it splits into three parts (2 ends, 1 middle), and has a removable roof. It cost around $330 USD... my biggest building splurge to date.

    Finished cleaning and drying 2 big zip-bags with black and grey bricks and now started building 6085-1: Black Monarch's Castle. The remaining bricks should give as result 6081-1: King's Mountain Fortress. My boxes with spare parts are in reach for missing bricks, hope to finish the first today.

    Finished the red 5 x-wing. Favorite set to date. I missed out on the original when I was younger. My parents let me get the tie interceptor but said the x-wing was too much. Then toys r us stopped carrying the x-wing and I totally missed out. Ive waited 10 years for this set and I'm blown away. I've gotten really good with stickers and got the cockpit windscreen almost perfect except for some minor bubble or two. I might make some little modifications, definitely going to change the nose piece. I'm such a fan of this set that I'm thinking of getting a second of this set to keep one at home and one on my desk at work.

    I popped into the Watford Lego store today for the first time in 2 weeks, having missed May the Forth due to virus-induced bed-rest. There, the lovely Samantha took pity upon my sad plight, and not only found me a leftover Han poly of my very own, but also the parts and instructions for the Holocron Droid! Guess what I've been building tonight...? ;-)

    I'm slowly making my way through the UCS B-wing I picked up on Saturday. It's my first UCS set. Lot of cool building techniques. With all the plates it's heavier than I would have guessed.

    I built #9492 this past weekend. The wings were a bit tedious but ultimately an interesting build. I also put together #9678, which is a nice quick build with lots of SNOT.

    Assuming my shipment from LEGO arrives as scheduled, I should be building #7965 and a Hoth Han (ha ha) this weekend.

    Just finished a 4 month Bricklink project that I am very excited about. Building Cavegod's UCS AT-AT was a great experience that I highly recommend for the patient and persistent.

    In summary: I had about 2500 of the just over 6200 pieces required. I sourced parts from 27 different Bricklink stores doing the best job I could minimizing the number of stores while maximizing the number of parts from stores that had a few of the rarer parts. I spent about $650 including shipping and the LDD files from Cavegod. He gave great support the few times I needed it during the build. One thing I'd like to note, although I've heard/read stories about frequent errors for buying lots of parts off of Bricklink, I experienced 100% accuracy for all orders.

    After building it, I was dumbfounded by how big it is. Picture just cannot convey.

    I just finished the Technic Tow Truck (9395) and am about to begin the Rescue Helicopter (9396). I ordered two Red 5 X-Wings and the B-Wing last weekend...so those should be showing up soon.

    I have got the 1:10 Ferrari Technic and the Enzo waiting for me to build, then the technic off-roader and the mini backhoe loader too :) All about technic!

    Having a mini poly-fest tonight; I built a #30053 Venator Class Republic Attack Cruiser (bought 4 from eBay, arrived yesterday) and #40054 Summer Scene (purchased 2 from the Lego Store in Watford at lunchtime today).

    I'd been looking forward to the Venator, since I'd enjoyed the build and end result of #30242 Republic Frigate so much, but I found this set to be a slight let-down - MUCH smaller and...erm...flatter than the bag implied, it was nowhere near as swooshable as the Frigate. Perhaps my expectations were too high.

    Summer Scene, by contrast, I enjoyed very much. The deckchair and (especially) the sandcastle were quick and simple builds, but extremely effective and pleasing to the eye - and unlike the Venator, the cover image is practically life-size (in relation to the model, of course). Even the somewhat retro minifig didn't detract from its charm (although I might permit myself to "de-bag" him and give him the CMF Surfer's funky shorts instead). This set is currently available in the Store for £3.99 - well worth it.

    (Finished my evening by building, naming, and empowering the first three members of the Star Corps. Don't ask.....:-P)

    Continuing my poly-fest from yesterday, I've just assembled a #40062 Log Cabin MMMB poly (Jan 2013) which Eamonn at the Watford Store very kindly found for me. What a gorgeous, satisfying little build that was. Some of the MMMBs are just lovely, and its rather a shame they're not more widely available - so thank you again, Eamonn! :-)

    First post on this forum - hi all! :) Delighted to say I recently finished building the legendary shuttle tydirium :D It's a real beauty, and although I was very excited about building this set, it has by far exceeded my expectations. It completely dwarfs my other SW sets, especially on the stand. Beans on toast this month, but it's worth it. Ha!

    I'm not actually building anything at this moment though last week a set arrived that I'll soon be putting together. Right now, I'm making last second plans for the Chicago Star Trek convention and some other travel before and afterwards but when that's all done next week I'm putting together this:

    This morning I built #79108, the Lone Ranger stagecoach. It was a fun build. Although there are less than 300 pieces, it was complicated enough to be enjoyable. I won't give an extensive review, just make a couple of comments. The hat that the female character wears and the raven that goes on Tonto's headdress might be easy to lose - they are held in place with only a single small pin - so I'll have to be extra careful how I store them. Also there were some nice 'leftovers' in the package. Not just the usual dots and squares. There was an extra set of 'reins' (part #6037557), an extra brown cowboy hat and two extra revolvers. The stagecoach has a nice 'springy' action and would be lots of fun for playing with, although I mostly just display and photograph, I might be tempted to play with it a little too.

    The stickers were easy to put on. I made it easier by attaching the tiles on which they went to a large plate first, so that the tile wouldn't wriggle out from my grip. (Yes! She CAN be taught!)

    A good start to the morning.

    Built #9500 Fury Class Interceptor a couple days ago. Very cool model and very swooshable ship, Malgus is awesome. My son had fun shooting at it with his Z-95 Headhunter as I flew it around (just in the right spot to be shot at)

    Also built #76007 Malibu Mansion Attack yesterday for a store display. Mansion is ok, helicopter is pretty cool and the minifigs are good. Quite a few stickers...

    Next up will be the #79108 Stagecoach Escape...

    It's actually a really cool set, especially at the $47 I paid. The T-Rex is obviously great, but the Helicopter is bigger then I thought and it has quite a few interesting pieces, I enjoyed the build.

    In this last week have build the City Police Station, The new King's Castle 70404 and the Castle Gold Getaway 70401.

    The only gripe I have on the Castle is it does not come with enough minifigs. It needs to have more of the King's soldiers, maybe 7 or 8 and not 3 with a King.
