Looks like the B-Wing is currently selling for around $165 on eBay w/ free ship. So, after fees and shipping that only leaves about $25-35 in profit. Not worth fooling with right now, IMHO. Selling Han will bump the profit by $10-15, but still not that great.

Recieved my LEGO [email protected] order which was the Rancor Pit & AT-RT. Included a poster, Chima set and 2 Hans as well!^^ Pleasantly surprised with that bonus. Might give the extra to my bro. Poster is way bigger than I thought. Pretty happy right now. My B-Wing from TRU should arrive sometime today.

Received and built my B-Wing, since this was one of the sets I most wanted to build when I was getting back into LEGO, this 4th was a great one for me!

@dr_teng How long did it take to build it? (Note to self, take whatever time dr_teng says and double it. I am a slow-w-w LEGO builder.)

I feel so unloved. Ordered one B-Wing at 12:07 and just now received an email that it is shipping. Maybe we will get to build it next weekend. :(

Received my B-Wing yesterday--my first impression was the size of the box: this thing is big! The last time I remember getting a box this size was the Futuron Monorail (hard to believe that was over 25 yrs ago...).

Along with it came the poster, the Chima Speedorz, and no Han. I plan to contact Lego to see where the Han went (there was a disconcerting gap in the shipping box where it was poorly taped, but others here have said their Han's were missing too and Lego will send them separately?).

The Chima freebie is not a total surprise--I've gotten an unexpected collectible minifig in a past order. My guess is it's Lego's way of hooking you into new themes. Chima, like CMF's, Ninjago, and for that matter Bionicle, is probably designed to be a craze. I doubt it's a failure, not yet anyway.

Anyhow, my wife and I began building the B-Wing together last night. So far it's a great build, though we've only gotten through the third bag. The more I learn about this set, the more I realize I would have paid much more for it--it really is a great model. Great for two people, too--the engine is a 2X so we each built one, side by side, and there's looking to be lots of symmetry.

    I love to build slow.

It's like eating a cookie. Do it slow and you'll enjoy it for more time. ;-)
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
I think the B-wing took me about 6 hours when I built it. Built the X-wing last night and it took maybe 4 hours. But I go back and forth between doing stuff on my computer and building so I don't always pay attention.

I really enjoyed the build on both models. The size of both just puts a smile on my face. I was really impressed with the wing mechanism on the X-wing compared to the way they do the system models. The only downside of course is the cockpit stickers.
  • legogregorslegogregors Member Posts: 402
How were the stickers on the B-wing?
  • Ra226Ra226 Member Posts: 20
Yes, I've read about those stickers... I plan to get the X-Wing, but it can wait--perhaps Brick Friday, etc... Plenty of time. Unless, of course, they decide to have a fire-sale and retire the set after 6 months.

    But that's just crazy talk.

@cloaked7- I built it last night and it took me about 4-5 hours. Numbered bags made it a very easy, yet enjoyable build.

I must say the final product does look quite fantastic and much larger than what you think it is when flipping through a catalog. Pictures, as we always seem to say in regards to LEGO sets, don't do this beauty justice.

I recall seeing the B-Wing displayed at my nearest Lego store and was quite surprised by how big the model actually was (same with #42000 Grand Prix Racer btw). Made me change my mind about picking one up down the line. This sale was perfect timing.

The stickers on the B-Wing are just a couple orange circles so they were really easy.

For those that are interested, I'm seeing pretty good interest from Australian buyers on the B-wing at $175...$200 is possible, but $175-$185 seems to be the breaking point.

So is there any friendly soul out there who can part with any B-Wings for the discounted price ? Only need B-Wings... you get to keep Han and all extras =) PM me with what you got and we work something out.

Did you ask before the sale? That would have been the best thing to do. I'm sure someone could have ordered one for you. I only ordered 2 and mainly to get another Han for a fellow Bricksetter.

No i thought i would get some myself but worst of luck, they did indeed sold out too quick so i had no chance... like *darn*, for sure i should have asked before the sale for someone to buy for me !!! But i do hope there are someone kindhearted willing to let go of some as certainly many ordered plenty... like you i think many also did however picked the B-Wing just to get the Han figure for free
@Speeder- Reading through your comments, I'm seeing a lot of plural(s) on the B-Wing.... are you wanting one to build, or several for re-sale?

I think someone may be willing to give you one to build, but if you're looking to re-sale what they are giving you out of the kindness of their heart for a fantastic sale price, I don't think you'll find many takers...
True, just realized myself it can easily be mistaken for a resale but rest assure im not a reseller... reason i wrote in prural(s) is that im debating with myself out loud, see im a builder and also collector... does it make sence ? Would love to build one but also keep one as part of my collection, i've build every UCS sets to date except this one so im kinda proud of myself =) reselling its not my thing... and i would not like to buy from one either to fuel the fire as its kinda bad as it is

So offer still stands, if you have 1 or 2 to spare at the deal cost plus shipping let me know, keep your Han and donate your speedorz to the good cause above...

So I just got my shipment of Legos from the May 4th weekend. Opened it up to what I ordered and some free Chima sets and posters. Have others gotten them as well?
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,492
@USMCYodz- Indeed! Many of us have gotten some free Chima sets:

If you don't want them, contact @sidersdd who is donating them to his local children's hospital.

If it makes you feel better, I never saw that option until 3 days ago either...

They make it rather discrete, which makes it all the more exciting when your package "randomly" comes in the mail.

    Aaaah, relief.

For a moment back there, there was a thread title with the word 'Legos' in it, but it has now been merged here, and the universe is in harmony once more. LOL
    ;o)

I usually don't mind the usage, but... in. a. thread title... too... much... to take... HULK SMASH LEGOS

    :oD
    lol

If you do say legos *uhuhuhuhuhuh* (Sideshow Bob shudder), don't take offence (old discussion, been had), I was just having a joke.

Well, I have resorted to trying to get to the packages left at the door before my wife sees them. I even have intercepted the delivery person and told them not to ring the doorbell.

I feel like I'm cheating on my wife with Lego.

I have stuff delivered at the office, but that's more because I hate having large packages left on my doorstep at home. My wife is relatively fine with my purchasing habits. It's just that the bigger boxes freak her out sometimes so I leave them in the car until I can safely relocate them to my LEGO room.

That said, safely inside now. Han poly, Yoda poster, and a copy of #70113 were included. I think the Speedor set is destined to be a prize at a LUG event later this year. Honestly, I'm a little shocked to see a $20 set included with as an extra. That's pretty darn cool, considering the smoking deal US buyers already got on the B-Wing. (sorry non-US folks, I do feel a smidge guilty)

EDIT: Looking at the parts list...does anyone else think the head for Wakz looks kind of like Grumpy Cat?

My 2 Chima sets are going to good homes. To children that are not from well-to-do families. This essentially will be one childs first Lego set. I hope the Chima set won't scar his image of Lego ;)

I got my Han Solo, posters, and Chima 70113 today, while my previously backordered 2x B-Wings are on their way. I thought I was special, but it looks like everyone gets the same Chima set.
Oh well, at least I know what to give my son's friends for their birthday

By the way, did everyone get 4x6 Mr. Gold stickers in your packages as well ? I would imagine this was the same stickers they gave away during "Find Mr. Gold" promo on May 6th.
Sadly, this is most like the closest I will get to finding a Mr. Gold

Got my B-Wing from TRU today as well. I ordered the Rancor Pit and AT-RT from [email protected] for Han and got 2!^^ Here's a pic minus the poster:

    ^ and ^^ IT'S A STICKER ! ! !

I didn't notice that either. I just thought it was a 'blow in ad'. I had to give it a second look, in good light, and look at it as a sticker. It sure had me fooled. :-)

Now, what exactly am I gonna stick it on? It's a pretty big sticker.

Great...you mean to tell me I'm going to get a giant sticker to put somewhere to remind me everyday of a minifigure that I never found...woopie!

I yearn for the days of yesteryear when the default behavior was for couriers to actually wait to see if someone would answer the door before leaving the package.

^ You mean UPS left those LEGOS on my front porch? You're joking right?

I mean, I'm pretty sure it's the LEGO fairy. The doorbell rings and LEGOS appear! It can't be UPS. I never see a truck, a driver, anything. Just a doorbell ring and LEGOS! Yeah, now that I think about it - it must be the LEGO fairy.

@rocao Move to France. So far every larger package has required a signature, for small packages they unlock my mailbox and place it inside. I'm glad I caught her at it once, it was really messing with my concept of physics as I found these packages completely filling my tiny mailbox.

I received a Box today from LEGO, a rather large box that only held the Chima, Han, and post... Once again proving that LEGO is really weird with their shipping boxes, I guess it is better than a padded envelope though.

Oddly enough, my promos came separate from my B-Wing as well, and all they used was a padded envelope. No complaints, though. Everything was in good shape.

Wonder who at TLG got the bright idea to ship posters in a padded envelope. At least they should throw in a cardboard insert then.

^ To be fair, it's freebie poster. It's not going to be worth much if anything long term. Even then with the Lego collector's market I'm sure you will be able to get one in mint condition down the road if you really wanted one for a decent price. My kids are not even that interested in this one.

Sadly, my UK order from the US TRU has just been cancelled :( Has anyone had any luck? Is there anything possible that can be done?
  • blake711blake711 Member Posts: 23
I was surprised to see the chima set in the box when my B Wing showed up. My son who is 4 has been getting legos for about the last year. The misses isn't real happy to see my lego addiction lived out through my youngest. So we went on a strict Star Wars Lego only diet after last Christmas. He already had the all the 2012 Mine sets and lots of Fire and smaller sets. So we cut back to Star Wars Saga and Clone wars no old republic stuff.

Anyway the chima set was in the box, which I haven't been impressed with chima from the first time I saw them. Now that he got the free set and played with them yesterday, I can say even if we weren't on a strick Star Wars only LEGO diet we wouldn't be investing in any chima. I can't imagine how many millions they have dumped into this line and I think its destined to fail myself.

Maybe I've been around Lego for too long or maybe some things are so overt that nobody can miss them, but to me Chima was an obvious miss from the start for TLG. To me it pegs at 10+ on the "strange" factor. They should probably just pull the plug on it immediately and focus their resources on sets that apparently sell like...well...the Death Star and Fire Brigade. ;-)

I hope Chima does well. The Speedorz are fun (yes, they are) and I think the concept will resonate with some kids more than others. Too many vehicles right now, but the bases and of course the cartoon will tell the tale by Xmas. Who knows, maybe TLG had this little May 4th surprise planned from the get go.
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,624
Ninjago didn't take off right away either, not time to write off Chima yet. Holiday sales along with what they do with the line next year will tell the story better than assumptions and anecdotal evidence.

Don't know if this was already mentioned, but a couple of my B-wings were backordered, so they sent out the freebies and the 2 sets of 5 CMFs I bought for the posters. The speedorz came with both the freebies and the B-wings, so it looks like they are totally dumping all these speedorz sets. Basically more speedorz for the hospital kiddies though so yay and yeah they are pretty fun (we kept one set).
