Mr Gold Wanted Please Read
Hello everyone,
I noticed on the Brickish forum an idea from
@LostInTranslation (great idea Lucy) saying that if she was lucky enough to find one she would raffle it off. Well I've decided to see if I can find one.....
So I need a generous member who is prepared to let one go at a reasonable price. If I'm lucky enough to aquire one then I'll post the raffle details on how to enter etc. I would also be looking for other people to help me distrubute sets to other places worldwide to worthy causes. Between us we raised £300 with the mini brand store, I think Mr Gold could raise much much more.
First of all though I need Mr Gold himself.........
Thanks for reading.

I hope others are of the same opinion and someone gives kevbags a chance to make lots of children very happy :-)
So if I find one (highly unlikely) then I shall let you know @kevbags.
I was going to say that if I don't find one then I'll donate a sealed Chrome Vader - a poor substitute I know but still shiny and rare -, but lets be honest i might as well just donate it now (if you would like it).
Let me know if you would like it and who to send it to, Kevbags?
I'm sure @Kevbags will be happy to raffle off a Chrome Vader as well as a Mr Gold if he gets one!
Mr Golds good n all but a chrome Darth Vader, I know which I'd rather win :-)
Good luck @kevbags, hope this raises a good amount for some very deserving kids.
While I'm posting, if you're in Europe or the US and have connections to a childrens hospital/ward or other child worthy cause and would be happy to spend raffle proceeds and deliver them then please drop me a pm.
Our LUG donates LEGO sets to the Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis each year, but I would love to donate to the Peyton Manning one as one of my children headed to the emergency room there recently and I was amazed at how well they treated us there and how fortunate we were to have such a hospital nearby. Let me know if you want to proceed with this.
As far as Mr Golds go here... I haven't even been able to search one packet as somebody has been clearing out the TRUs and Target/Walmart don't appear to have them on the shelves yet. I plan to hunt this week though.
As it stands we have two prizes, the chrome Vader generously offered by @TheCableGuy and the "mystery" prize offered by myself. I'm going to leave it a week or so to see if a Mr Gold falls into my hands. If not I'll add a third prize and get proceedings under way.
I'd be willing to throw in the third prize though, if you would like to use it.
Since @TheCableGuy has made a generation donation of 1 Star Wars polybag minifigure, I have an idea. I'll throw in a sealed Chrome Stormtrooper and ARF trooper as well too make it a SW polybag "trifecta". Hopefully that draws a few more people in who want a complete set. It's just an idea, and if you like it feel free too shoot me a PM!
I don't believe he is listed anywhere as an official minifig, but he was made when you combine sets #4816, #4817, #4818 and #4819 with all 4 chrome parts. There is a picture of him on the back of each box.

You are also proof that not all AFOLs are getting caught up in the greed culture that seems to be so common these days.
I really really hope I can find a Mr Gold and do my bit too.
Struggling to keep up here! @everyone, thank you thank you thank you :-) In view of the last half hour I'm not even sure we need a Mr Gold although of course it would rude to reject him ;-)
Only fair to clarify that my contribution is a BNIB Sopwith Camel #10226 . Little box crease on the box but to make up for that I'll include a spare sticker sheet.
I think I'll let the May 4th fanfare die down before firing the raffle up. Before then I'll decide how or even if to bundle prizes together or have them all as individuals. Sure to win all those chrome figures would be amazing but the winner might only need one and I like the idea of people having more opportunities to win.
This is going to be fun! Looking forward to the raffle(s)!
This could be the raffle of the century at this rate. Great job!

I'll provide a list of prizes I can donate, later tonight.
I'd be happy to donate something to such a great cause, so let me know if you're interested in any of those.

With all these fantastic polys on offer I fear @atkinsar could be having palpitations ;-)
Fantastic support from the Brickset community here, just amazing, warms the heart. I'd best have a dig around my spares and see what I can offer, will do so tonight and let you know.

Thanks for the prizes. They are much appreciated.
Are you going to be having multiple prizes for the raffle? If so, I can throw in a shirtless Darth Maul and a NY Yellow Cab poly as well. Others have already offered those so I didn't want to have duplicate items, but if they'll be split into separate prizes I'll add them to polys I listed above.

I'll also probably have an extra Hoth Han after the weekend, but I can't commit to that one yet.
Also due to the awsome response from fellow brickseters willing to help me out with trying to get a discounted B-Wing this weekend (I know it may not even pan out, but I have had a number of offers which is cool) I would like to help out some more, @Kevbags do you have any idea of what kind of money you will be raising as I have a Monster Fighters The Zombies #9476 I am willing to donate, but I want to make sure you can raise a good amount of money. I'm thinking at least £500 maybe more? Or maybe have it as a bonus prize for all entrants who buy at least £5 or £10 worth of tickets. Just an idea but I will leave that up to you as I don't really want to put conditions on it.
I just don't want to donate stuff (including world wide postage) that I would have been better off just donating the cash directly to a charity.
@atkinsar, I have some spare Shell Ferrari polys (6 cars) with me which I can post to you...I did post these to a few Bricksetters and the transaction went smooth :)
I hope people don't find that rude if they were thinking of offering something. I just think we already have so much fantastic stuff. Fear not though, when this is a roaring success (lets be confident) it will give us the excuse to do it all again next year so just put something to one side till 2014.
All prize givers I'm going to start a group PM just so we can discuss logistics.
