42000 Grand Prix Racer Pistons colors

I am currently building the #42000 that I picked in double VIP Points. While building the engine, I noticed that I have 3 yellow pistons and 5 bright orange ones... Any one with a similar issue ?

The crank shaft ends have also been showing up in these 2 different colors...

mine were both yellow. I contacted LEGO and they are sending me a few yellow pistons..
Anyhow, nice model, I thought it will be similar to the other Technic single seater but it is a different build... my only grief are the tires, older ones looks better in my mind.

You mean the older wider F1 tires from the 8458, 8461, and 8674..? Yeah, they were better for this kind of car... It was nice to see the larger ones(rear tires) from the Nitro Muscle get back into production though...

Yes, I do have #8458 and #8461 and their wider tires look better for those single seater, I will try to mix their tires and put the narrow tires on front and wider at the back.
I unfortunately do not have #8674, I do have #8386, but it is not the same :)

True! Thanks for the heads up. I parted out a couple of them, and I indeed have both. Strange thing is 4-4 for me.

Piston colours on mine are all the same colour, no problem.

Just wondering how are you displaying the #42000??

On a shelf, with the other formula type cars :) Ad you can see, a lot shorter...

    your shelf looks dusty ;)

I took the wheels off my 42000 and made a stand on it so it looks like in the garage style..

@ChanMcL, you sounds like my wife :) if I didn't know better, I would think your posts are an elaborate setup from her so I dust more often ;-)

Haha. Its just really shows up the dust on black. But it looks much better on black background than beech or something like what I have.

I will post you some pictures soon.

Also liking your planet sets ;)

Haha, yeah! Its the Warrior Woman inside the package :)

When I build the mini backhoe loader, probably going to put my LEGO heads in there ;)
