Limited edition 5771 Hillside House?

The hilllside house I picked up at TRU has Limited Edition written across the side of the front panel of the box. Anyone know if this means anything or is just a marketing gimmick? I there anything different between the Limited edition and a regular 5771 set?

i have only seen limited edition boxes - I havent' seen any that DON'T say that. so, either it's purely marketing, or maybe they are doing a limited production run on this item.

mine was "limited edition", but I don't see anything inside that would imply there was anything extra and/or special or unique about it compared to something that wouldn't be considered limited edition.

Well, Technically anything is a 'limited' production run for Lego, they have sets discontinue all the time.. So yes, it is limited, but do not take that to mean it is limited more than another set.. after all the Concrete mixer truck and recycle trucks were both 'limited editions'

I was under the impression that in the UK use of "limited edition" at least in advertising, and I'm not sure if on box wording would count, requires the production run to be limited to a stated number of items.

One of the Star Wars X-Wing sets has been marked as "limited edition" since something like 2006 or 2007. So I would just ignore that marking on the Hillside House. It just came out in this summer's wave by the way, so it should be available for the next year or more.

limited editions are store exclusives. so that means you can only buy the hillside house at TRU and Lego stores. just like the city house at target. or lukes landspeeder at walmart.

And if it's popular they'll start doing production runs without the limited edition label.....cough Dwarf Mine....cough cough.

I picked up my hillside house at TRU uk and it was a regular creator box without the limited edition flashing. I then ordered two more from boots.com and they too didn't have limited edition on. Maybe it's different in uk/us
