A shame those outdoor spot lights don't actually work as it would look great just like it's shown on the box uplighting the building!

Why is the female minifig the same in the pet shop and cinema?
  • Si_UKNZSi_UKNZ Member Posts: 4,179
^ Best use of it I've seen so far :) matches the poster too.
  • PicopiratePicopirate Member Posts: 325
@jocappy. That is my only complaint with the set. They could have at least given her different hair. If i had to knit pick i would say that it also lacks some of the little surprises found in other sets (build techniques or fun elements).

Is it possible to make two screen rooms? I don't know what to get UCS X wing or this?
  • RobbRobb Member Posts: 144
The second floor has a high ceiling. I may trying mocing it to create stadium style seating.

    It's LEGO... so BOTH! :-)

@Sherlockbones - They would have to be tiny, but as @samiam391 said, get both!
  • SherlockbonesSherlockbones Member Posts: 411
If I was slighlty sadistic I would have the x wing crashing into the cinema :)

I just wish I could afford some of the older sets

Could you not just put another layer two on to get the second screen room? (like CC or GE say). I've haven't looked at whether it'd be a direct fit, but must be pretty close.

Exterior might need a little modification, on the lower room say, to amend the look of the facade. Maybe take a layer or two of bricks off, have a theatre style screen and then a stadium / sloping seating plan for the "main screen" upstairs.

Clearly need to buy two to experiment with!!

I noticed the woman from PS comes in this too. (The one in the Kingdoms torso) seems to mess with continuity.

Ha good eye! Of course, you can just change it up to something custom that you like. I usually have a group of city figures I spread throughout my city block.

I just added a couple City cars in front of them also, just having a limo and firetruck is a little bare.

Yes the limo seems to be out of place no?

The limo would look better outside the Town Hall picking up the newly-weds.

@piratemania7 I agree. With FB you have the enterence and garage. But you have the extras (car/lights) with PC you just need to set willy nilly

I'm almost done building the PC. Very nice set. I just thought I would give some builders a trick when applying stickers in case it hasn't been mentioned before. I get a pen or marker and a small piece of double sided tape. I apply the tape on the end of the pen or marker. Then, I remove the sticker I need to apply and press the taped end of the pen/marker onto the middle of the sticker. Now when I need to apply the sticker on a piece, I can line it up pretty easily. I can tell you that it is rare that my stickers are off by even a millimeter this way.

In case anyone is interested, I called Lego [email protected] and bought 2 spare sticker sets for PC. A grand total of $7.34 for the 2. Cheapest on BL in the US is 9.00 each.

Just saw on Eurobricks that if you buy the Palace Cinema in September you receive a limited edition 'The LEGO Movie' poster:

Interesting, but don't think I'd display it myself. I'd rather the more subtle LEGO references like 'The Brick Separator'.

I think it is finally time for me to buy this one... does anyone have one of these sticker sheets in hand when bought at a store?
  • jhuntin1jhuntin1 Member Posts: 53
Has anyone asked at a store if it is possible to get The LEGO Movie sticker outside of purchasing Palace Cinema for those of us who bought one earlier?
  • oldtodd33oldtodd33 Member Posts: 2,694
Has anyone received their Palace Cinema with the Lego movie sticker? If so, did it come with just 2 stickers on the sheet or were there more? Hoping for more than just the 2 on a sheet so I won't need any extra sheets for spares.
  • ColoradoBricksColoradoBricks Member Posts: 1,659
@oldtodd33, it is like a 6x4 picture but there is only one sticker on it.

Only 1? Now I feel cheated, there should be 2 stickers like the original sheet. But thanks for the info.

Interesting. I haven't opened the Palace Cinema yet. Why offer 1 sticker when the others that came with the set have 2?
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,787
^--- the two stickers that come with PC are different aren't they? The LEGO movie sticker is just one for one movie, at least that is how I think they see it.
Plus it is free with a purchase of the PC, be thankful LEGO did not start charging you for the extra sticker along with the full cost of the PC :-).

    Thanks

^ TLG announced there maybe a promo for us nearer the time when the film is released next year, but who knows what it'll include!?

You feel cheated because you get something for free?
  • oldtodd33oldtodd33 Member Posts: 2,694
^ Yes, I do. As I stated in my post, the original sticker sheet for PC came with 2 stickers for each pane of "glass" and the Lego Movie sheet only has 1. You would think if they intended the 2 stickers in the original build, why wouldn't they intend for 2 in the Lego Movie sticker?
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^ did they include the glass? Maybe their plan is for a sticker for the LEGO MOVIE 2: The Sticker Sequel
  • murphquakemurphquake Member Posts: 651
I would have liked it a lot more if it had a 2nd sticker but i'll take it for what it is. the whole thing is actually a sticker but the movie poster is cut out from the rest. Was a large display at the theater tonight when I went to see Captain Phillips with @C3Brix & @XViloria

@murphquake So, did you buy 2 PC's or did you get 2 by mistake? Or maybe you got 2 because there are only one to a sheet and everyone is supposed to get two with their order?
  • murphquakemurphquake Member Posts: 651
@oldtodd33 I asked nicely for it and they gave me two. The promo is supposed to run til the new year so I couldn't get more as I wanted to get a small stack for my LUGmates
  • klatu003klatu003 Member Posts: 729
I also asked nicely for it while making a substantial purchase that did not include the Palace Cinema. They gave me one - no problem. It is a postcard sized scene of the Palace Cinema with the Lego Movie poster shown instead of one of the original movie posters. The outline of the Lego Movie poster is etched to remove. It is hard to see the etching until you tilt the postcard.

Ulitmately, depending on rarity and how difficult it becomes to obtain this sticker sheet directly from TLG, I wonder A. How much this will resell for and B. Whether or not people will actually USE the sticker or just keep it tucked away safely somewhere?
  • AleyditaAleydita Member Posts: 952
I just bought this set from [email protected] in Belgium and didn't get the sticker so I'm guessing it's still a US exclusive.
