    Im guessing to not show LEGO figures in Peril.. There was a whole debate about this I think either earlier in this thread or another. I do not think they want to show LEGO 'people' in danger in the set.

    I don't really understand this taboo though. Aren't kids usually / mostly playing firefighting with their Fire-themed LEGO?

    Yeah, in my son's town, the people are constantly falling off the top floor of buildings, setting fire to buildings next to the fire brigade, having accidents in cars and continuously falling onto the train tracks. Very clumsy and mischievous people!

    Selling something for play that is a real life-threatening and potentially life-ending catastrophe, is a pretty big item to get past. I think Lego would get a ton of backlash for it, for using tragedy for profit. In addition, many kids at their target age are still quite scared of house fires.

    An abandoned building is a much safer set, and still allows kids to fight fires.

    Yeah, have a whole line of sets of houses for sale, with a little sale sign outside, although alot of kids these days play alot of violent games and watch violent movies but the younger kids could get scared

    Especially if they or somebody close to them had firsthand experience with such a traumatizing situation. That's also one of the reasons TLG steers clear of modern-day military content in sets-- sure, a lot of kids could probably handle it, but for some it might cut a bit too close-to-home if it turns out they have a family member deployed in a real-life conflict.

    I once got pecked by a chicken. The Village Mill Raid and Blacksmith Attack scarred me for months. After all, chicken raiders seeking grain to pillage are a major threat. They literally called it Blacksmith Attack though it should be called Little Plastic Chicken Attack! You've got that poor knight trying to defend the blacksmith from the terrors of that chicken. The horror! The HORROR!

    Note that LEGO City has never really featured violent crime. And this kind of thing is always a matter of costs vs. benefits. In this case, TLG has no real incentive to make the building in the Fire Emergency set look like people are living there (an abandoned building works just as well, and is still realistic since old buildings are less likely to meet fire safety codes), whereas they obviously think it will be scary enough for kids that they have a good reason not to have people living there. On the other hand, there's probably far more of a chance of kids liking a set because it has dogs or ice cream in it than avoiding a set for the same reason.

    Your statement "If a toy is too far out there then it wont sell" is the primary factor here. Sure, TLG could learn what toys sell through trial and error, but if they have good reason to think a toy will sell just as well or better if they avoid things that might scare kids, why even bother taking the risk?

    I have no problem with toy manufacturers censoring themselves. If the want to take the high road and avoid certain topics, great. Its the toy reviewers, politicians, and parents who force their opinions on others that irks me. If a toy manufacturer wants to make a toy and parents want to buy it then it should be okay. The other parties should only get involved if the toy causes harm. The fire set does not appear to cause harm on its own, it could certainly aggravate existing damage (but any toy could do that) and if that is the case then the parents should avoid the toy.

    XD I always found LEGO's colours weird when it came to snakes, I've never seen red and green snakes before.


    Anyway I'll be buying a few of these new sets, I want the new Police sets

    They both seem weird to me too, but according to Google, almost-solid green isn't all that weird and even almost solid red isn't unheard of. The shade of green doesn't seem quite "right," though.

    Just gotta say that the designers behind 79103 Turtle Lair has done a great job. It has a lot of great details and altogether got a nice atmosphere! Like it alot!

    With the robbers though, they don't come with weapons, most of the robbers in the LEGO city range come with a bag of money or a crowbar

    we should get a pirate discussion going. At the end of the day, my love lies with the "classic" pirate theme. Not this BS POTC theme. Ha. : ) If the classic guys and gals came back I would snap up two of every set. Immediately.

    Do you think we'll ever see X-Men super hero sets? I'm dying to collect the classic Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, Beast, Arc Angel, Professor X lineup.

    IMO X-Men doesn't need a movie tie in to be successful. The X-Men are timeless. One set is not enough!

    I agree so hard. I love the Magneto and Wolverine figs.
    DC got a large Arkham set, so I feel like the obvious Marvel counterpart would be The Xavier Institute.

    I really hope we get some X-Men sets in the future, too.

    With the new Wolverine film, and an X-Men first class sequel, I would hope we get some Lego tie in sets like the Wolverine helicopter.

    Plus, the Jean Grey minifig exclusive looked awesome and I want more like it.

    I feel like the best bet on an X-Men dedicated 'wave' in the near term would be when Days of Future Past comes out, but they wouldn't be movie tie-ins (which is fine by me). I'd actually prefer the Spidey sets be based on the comics instead of the cartoon, to be honest.

    ^ The problem with kotor & kotor2 is that it is an open ended game. You can turn your followers good or evil, each with different look. Too many combinations and you can't please everybody.

    As a side note, in Kotor2 I remember turning the Darth Maul looking guy to Sith. He was probably the most good / jedi character of the bunch. It was super difficult but super fun.

    Don't know if this question belongs here,but i didn't wanted to open a new thread. Does anybody know when the Lone Ranger theme is due to be released in the US? Here in Germany it will be out in April and i wonder if this may be a theme that we will have first (before the US)?

    It is already available to buy via Walmart. I assume it will be at the Lego stores here soon.

    I wonder if LEGO is releasing a Marvel Video game in the vein of Batman..

    Still wish LEGO would do TRON, and do a video game of that as well
