What other iconic vehicles models should Lego make?

Just completed the VW Camper Van #10220 and think its a really great model.

Got me thinking what other "iconic" vehicles would you like to see lego make a similar detailed set for?

From a UK point of view I would like a minifigure scale Routemaster bus and London Taxi.

    Think angles!
    Cusoo has granted us a Delorean, I guess other classics with lots of long straight angles would be perhaps easier to render in lego. Lotus Esprit springs to mind, but in lego it might end up a similar shape to the Delorean.
    What I would love to get around to MOCing would be this though:

    The main problems with cars is getting the licenses from the manufacturers and finding ones that are popular enough to justify making into a set. Sure, the Lancia Integrale thingy up there is a classic, but does it have a big enough fanbase to make a Lego model of it economically viable? That said, I'd LOVE to see more licensed cars from Lego.

    It's Surprisingly tricky thinking of an original one that ticks all the boxes! How about a Land Rover?

    my personal choice as a landrover fanatic would be something from the landrover range it would combine my 2 hobbys but i suppose i can dream

    If they can acquire the rights to make a large-scale model of a particular automobile, I wish they'd simultaneously release a system-scale version of it as well. In a sense they did that with the VW van and the vehicle in the City Garage though I'm not certain the latter is necessarily a smaller scale version of the former.

    Tie two themes together. The first vehicle to roll off the assembly line, and you get to be that person who assembly's it. Just like the old days.

    I would like to see some system-scale rally cars but I wonder if the lack of awareness for rally in the US would/is keeping it from happening being the biggest Lego market

    I've been very pleased so far with their choices of VW, lambourghinis, unimog and T2 camper.

    There is a cute but mnon copyright-infiringing 'tribute' to a series one Landy in this set: #4637
    -I reckon an 800-piece 12-or-so wide version is definitely a goer! (scurries off to LDD)

    ^There are several City sets which included VERY Land Rover-like SUVs recently...I can't remember the numbers, but one was towing a horse-box and another was towing a trailer with dirt bikes on. And the one in the Forest Police HQ. (Not to mention the "Hummer" in the 2013 police line).

    I had this awesome idea the other day for a set which just comes with pieces to make several licensed cars, like a Creator/bucket set but with real licensed vehicles in...my mind hasn't decided what scale they'd need to be at, though. :P

    One more feasible thing they could do is something more like the SW Planet sets: small, accurate 'display' models which use more complicated building techniques (and thus look better) than the 'Tiny Turbos' (and the recent Shell promo Ferraris). I think those would be quite popular with the AFOL market.

    do you think lego even care much about the AFOL market? Or design specifically for it?

    I think they should definitely have a range of more complicated stuff (not unnecessary huge stuff like SSD) but more complex. Maybe that's where Creator Expert will be going?

    Routemaster is a great idea. Would love some historical F1 or sports cars, like 1966 Lotus F1 car , or the 6 wheeled tyrrell F1, Ford GT40 (Gulf livery).
    Many commercial Jet all look a bit similar but the A380 or Jumbo stand out. Military has the variation, but as TLC only as far as WW1 with the Sopwith, might have to wait another 5 years to get Spitfire etc. Maybe Nasa test stuff? Chunk Yeagers X1, or the forward swept X29
    UPS delivery truck? At least it's known worldwide! ;-)

    Ok.. two more.. The X15 (But like the X1 needs a B52 wing to hang off) and SR71 - Blackbird . High speed reconnaissance isn't Military

    A spitfire would be great - but not sure how popular that would be in Germany (one of Lego's biggest markets!)

    ^^ It's true, the SR71 blackbird isn't military in the slightest. It was funded by hunter gatherers looking for good places to pick mushrooms.

    ^ The same could be said for the Sopwith Camel. It's also clearly military, no idea how the rules dont apply for that one.

    Because TLG's anti-military rules clearly spell out that they apply to modern-day, realistic military combat. The Sopwith Camel is a WWI-era military vehicle with hardly even a resemblance to anything being used in military conflicts today.

    If you extend TLG's anti-military rules to apply for all time periods, then LEGO Castle, LEGO Pirates (at least, those sets with Imperial Guards), and LEGO Wild West would all have violated them from the very beginning. Not to mention the Indiana Jones licensed theme, which featured WWII-era military vehicles and weapons.

    It should be noted that Germans are typically not proud of their involvement in either World War, and so I hardly think they'd take offense at military vehicles of the countries they were fighting against. The place TLG has to play it safe with WWII vehicles is that they can't portray anything with Nazi iconography, since it would then be illegal to sell in Germany.

    the new sopwith camel is a remake of #3451 there was also a red baron plane #10024 so maybe they lego will release a remake of that too? would be great of some dog fights :)

    I am with @RunSub, I would love to see the Ford GT40, I really like the Technic version made by Sariel and would also love a non-technic model like the camper.

    I don't know about iconic but more minifig sized vehicles for city layouts would be nice. There has been a better release mix lately but at the same time some are just rereleases.

    @RunSub, I love the idea of a parcel delivery truck - branded or otherwise - some sort of cruel irony whereby your delivery of said set is stamped on, soaked with rainwater and then thrown over your back gate...!

    Next year volkswagen golf will have 40 anniversary and there is also three years gap between camper van.So i think there will be volkswagen golf as model.
