Is is Mk2 version of 8421 or 8053?

    This is not link to cf pictures, this link is to another forum which has link to cf pictures.So I think it is OK.But on this forum is cf pictures censorship very strong :-/.

    For the record, Brickset staff members are as keen to see confidential images as you all are, but LEGO does not want them distributed -- hence stamping 'confidential' all over them. We respect LEGO's confidentiality which is why we don't allow them to be distributed from here.

    Linking to sites that display or link to them does not actually consitute 'distribution' as such, so it's on the borderline of acceptability. 'Offending' posts will thus be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

    As the images concerned here are such rubbish and can hardly be seen, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it on this occasion.

    From what the blurry images show, the summer technic sets look rather nice particularly the bigger two.

    From what I can see on the above link, #42009 is "Estimated" to have 2200 pieces and is 200€

    But didnt lego practically admit that they leak the pics on purpose when asked about it at afolcon this year? ;-)

    ^I've sometimes wondered where "preliminary" or "confidential" pictures really originated. Releasing small grainy images of upcoming sets seems like a great way for Lego to generate interest in new products without divulging too much information, so that people will still be interested in the product when it's released.

    It worked with me- the #42009 and #42009 sets look awesome. I'm really looking forward to buying and building them, particularly since I missed out on #8421 and #8285. In fact, the MK II crane looks like a much more polished (ie better) version of the #8421. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

    Mostly the pictures come from the pre-catalogue for the lego-dealers. But officially they aren't allowed to show it to other people.

    Not as jaw droppingly big as I hoped, abit disappointing considering the rumored £150 price tag and from the box it looks like 1 motor and battery box.

    There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that they use this tactic to create hype...

    Is it just a coincidence that the same leaked set pictures always seem to come from the same place..? Usually a German Dealer Catalog...

    Recovery truck looks to be same scale as the flatbed or container truck, abit disapointing tbh, was hoping for a truck at 8285 scale, would have made a perfect pair of recovery trucks.

    Four functions on one motor, that sounds more interesting than cramming more motors into a set.

    Pretty excited, I grabbed a pic of the box from the video and tried to clean it up a bit. Dissapointed that it doesn't have more PF's integrated, but the fact that they're all integrated through a gearbox should make for a more technical build. It does look like the most refined model in the Mobile Crane line.

    Must have a high part count if the rumoured £150 price is true. That's pretty expensive for a set with no remotes or pneumatics like the previous high end technic sets. Looks pretty good though, and I'll end up getting it but may have to find a deal to justify this one.

    Some people at eurobricks said that it had just over 2,600... I don't know if that is true or not...

    The crane looks ALOT bigger in the video, definatley a must buy of 2013 :)

    Looks so much more polished compared to the old crane

    ^Wow, that is a lot of pieces! That bests the next largest Technic set (Unimog) by 550+ pieces and the original Mobile Crane by 700+ pieces. Pretty impressive; I'm definitely looking forward to this one.

    I'm curious to see if they'll keep the price point at $200, or (more likely) if they'll raise it to $250 or so.

    That will be a must have for me. I think mobile cranes are neat. Both real ones and LEGO ones. And, the bigger (more pieces) the better! :-)

    Wow, really makes the last two look... old... :) The new one is by far the nicest LEGO has done, makes me glad I never built #8053, that one just looks sad and half finished next to the new one.

    This is a must buy for me... once I find a deal on it of course! :)

    My only complaint is that it shouldve been a different colour for a change, maybe orange or red?

    ^ I totally understand... however for us hardcore fans, we would love that, but keep in mind that most of these will be sold to casual LEGO fans, who don't keep this close track and just want something fun and cool.

    The fact is, most of these cranes (IRL) are yellow. Why? I have no idea, I'm sure Google could tell me, but most construction equipment all seems to be painted yellow for whatever reason.

    Its a shame Lego didn't put normal sets in boxes llike the technic ones, always thought they were much better than normal Lego boxes.

    All 2H 2013 technic sets are available from [email protected] in Germany. Shame they won't ship to UK.

    There are instructions online at lego.com for the three new technic sets. For #42009 I can't get book 1 to open past page 3 and there is no inventory at the end of the last book.

    The inventory comes on the first book, about page 4-6, if I recall correctly.
    I downloaded it some 3-4 days ago and had no problems...

    No mention of a delivery delay.

    I just picked up the new Mobile Crane MK II as well as the new Service Truck at the Lego store in Westchester, New York. Are they supposed to be out today? I couldn't find release info anywhere.
