    This might be the wrong place to post this question but I've heard that a 2013 set coming out in the fall will be the corellian cruiser in the old republic. Is that a false rumor?

    I definitely second that the Sail Barge needs lots of henchmen/courtesans. We already have all the heroes from the other sets(Though Slave Leia will be awesome, and we'll probably get the server R2-D2). I want to see the Max Rebo band, Ree-Yees, a Weequay, maybe Yak-Face? Ephont Man? a Quarren? We need these!!!

    ^The Khetanna was actually leaked and looks to include Max Rebo, Barada (supposedly... I can't tell on that one), Ree Yees, Artoo, Leia and Jabba. And also looks like a really awful set. :\

    This is truly a beautiful selection. Although I only spy one OT model, many of these are either completely new or remakes of models that merited remakes anyway. I think any SW fan would look forward to Yoda v. Count Dooku. For SWTOR fans, the models suggested are truly beautiful.

    Now that Big Pete over at FBTB has provided a detailed discussion of the summer 2013 SW line, this should provoke some discussion on here. I at least partially take back what I said. It appears that all but TWO of these sets are modeled after scenes from II and III (and one from VI - Jabba's Sail Barge), even if there are many remakes.

    Unfortunately, two of the biggest sets are reboots of fairly new sets: the AT-TE and Republic Gunship sound alarmingly similar to their 2008 CW counterparts, regardless of the differences among the designs of CW and the PT. Nonetheless, it sounds to me like the real draws may be, unsurprisingly, the figs: the new Jango Fett, Adi Gallia (and perhaps Stass Allie), a young Boba Fett in the calendar, Darth Maul with his CW legs in the speeder, Max Rebo, Coleman Trebor, Poggle the Lesser, and redesigned Dooku and Yoda AotC minifigs. I have been waiting for new Dooku and Yoda figures. Lego, it's definitely about time you redesigned 2002's tiny #7103 and replaced it with a more substantive model containing more figures and designs. Hopefully there will be more printed parts like those of Dooku's sand blue speeder.

    Dooku, Yoda, and Jango are all draws here. Plus they mention Ep 2 version of Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Padme in the AT-TE. Enough here to make me think about picking up the Dooku v. Yoda and Jango sets.

    ^^I'm at least pleased that it's a Weequay (need a few of them to create a proper Sarlacc Pit scene) on the Khettana and not Barada (as had been previously rumored). Still super disappointed it's a smaller, less detailed version, but I'll at least pick up the four new figures.

    I forgot about the new Padmé! That's definitely a big draw, though not enough for me to essentially buy the same set again after five years. I like the set, but not that much.

    @Huw's brief description of the Sail Barge makes it sound a bit more promising than those awful preliminary photos (which probably makes it all the more understandable why TLG are so strict about them).

    Still, the fact that it's smaller than the 2006 version is a bit discouraging - especially if you wanted to line it up next to the Skiff. Would have rathered more bricks and a smaller minifig selection.

    Why make a bigger skiff than the old one, but a smaller barge than the old one? The old set had both in it, so by splitting the 2 up for the newer sets TLG have already made you pay quite a bit for both when the original was £60, had 8 minifigs, skiff and sarlaac and had 700-odd pieces. If the new barge was as good as the old one it would need to have about 600 pieces to be comparable (taking the skiff out of the equation).

    I like the fact they are doing all the Jabba sets over again, and adding Max Reebo and his piano is cool. Just need the rest of the band, and a cantina bar set would be great too.
    As for it being smaller than the first sail barge they made, have to wait an see what the final design is. I wouldnt expect them to make it look worse than the original set, at least I hope not

    At a £ 100 .. I'd say it should be about $ 120 or just under. Now jabba,s palace had a similar price and the piece count is 717 pieces. That was atrocious ...but even if we go by The recent Jabba equipment sets we should hope we get a minimum of and maybe between 700-750 pieces for this barge. At that count I am sure it will be a. Decent size and detailed craft , so I am very hopeful...If not so and I possibly can't imagine TLG could make it under 700 p. Now that would be simply put ... extortion !

    @Vortex - Agreed. But Lego has certainly stooped (almost) to that level with pricing like Jabba's Palace, and I could see an inflation justification with another deal like that one, only a bit worse. Whoever is in charge of the pre-/post- design pricing understands well that people will be willing to buy the Jabba theme sets at near-extortionate prices; otherwise, they would not even bother. I'm inclined to believe that Jabba's Palace was more geared at older collectors than younger people.

    ^ ^^ i know the price-point of Jabba's Palace is pretty bad (compared to the piece-count) BUT ya'll gotta keep in mind that it contains a lot of large pieces (large plates,castle-walls,huge slopes and of course the big Jabba himself!) which i'm pretty sure drove the price that high!

    ^Have you guys tried to calculate the difference between versions by weight instead of piece count? It will compensate for the larger pieces and there's always been a correlation between part cost and its weight.

    I feel as if the Star Wars LEGO is creeping up well above every other licensed product in terms of price. If this is going to be £100 then I'd also hope for 700-750 pieces (or 'weight equivalent'), in which case, I can't see how the new Barge could be smaller than the old - unless it has some kerrayzee detail and play features.

    It's not just the pieces, it's also the minifigs - look at how many new (and unique) molds were made for the minifigures - Jabba, Salacious Crumb, Leia's Helmet, Gamorrean Guard. These are all specialties that have will be of no use to LEGO outside of Star Wars

    Also, the intricate printing that went into Jabba and especially the Gamorrean Guard. Plus, all of the detailed printing on the 'regular' minifig elements on Leia and Oola.

    @BrickDancer, @Amiko, @RomanticWarrior - I completely agree. While Jabba's Palace is certainly overpriced, there are new minifig molds and lots of big parts, many of which are exclusive or highly rare. I also personally love the color selection. Regardless, you cannot forget the fact that the set's ppr is almost unprecedentedly poor. But I love all of the minifigures, and they compensate in large part for the price. :-)

    I actually like that At-Te! It looks alot more detailed on the front where the cockpit is.. I thought i wasn't going to like it.

    ^But it's also missing stickers just like the Gunship, lacks the visual flair of #7675. Otherwise looks nearly identical in overall design.

    ^I feel like a black sheep sometimes. I like stickers (prefer printed, but better than none). And I also prefer Licensed over Classic themes. Please don't stone me! =P

    I really wish when making sets like The Republic Gunship and AT-TE Lego would make them large 'Battle packs' minifigure wise. I want a minifigure layout similar to the AT-OT&Dropship set which was all clones. That's just my personal prefrence... but I wish Lego would at least play ball and include another 212th Clone Trooper with the AT-TE; that way I can buy multiple without having one clone in the cockpit and no one sitting on the gun! How often do you see in Clone Wars one of the Jedi actually doing a clone's job and flying a Gunship? I think I've seen Anakin or Ahsoka sit on the AT-TE turret ONCE... but that was when the gunner got killed. I'm not always a fan of Lego's playset setup, especially when they substitute vital Clones in the AT-TE for stupid battle droids and run of the mill Jedi.

    I have all the clone vehicles. They didn't look right with 1-2 clones so I ended up army building them. I agree, they could really pack some value into a set with multiple cannon fodder minifigures.

    ^The issue here is that any 10xxx LEGO exclusive set (such as the UCS X-Wing should be) wouldn't be in the standard retailer's catalog. So I'm still suspect of how 'UCS' it is.

    So if it's not a UCS, then we have another X-Wing (I'm going to assume that the report is correct about seeing one, whether UCS or not), but that would mean 2 out of the same time. Has this been done before?

    ^Outside of the mini-models, not to my knowledge. I'm also interested to know what this rumored 'Red Leader' X-Wing would be, especially at the relatively low price point (also rumored - $129.99, IIRC).

    Wow... it really is living up to being a clone AT-TE isn't it?

    It looks exactly like the last one... with maybe one or two very minor tweaks.

    It almost seems like LEGO is attempting to "re-release" it, but this time use a different box print.

    I'm disappointed to say the least.

    I'm curious to see if the "rumored" price quote is/was actually 129.99 pounds which would put its price (with exchange rates) right in line with the $199 that the B - wing sells for.

    Zathras: Yes, but still £40 cheaper than the B wing actually retails for in pounds, so it's most likely going to have fewer parts. Not many sets have a £:$ ratio that resembles anything like true exchange rates, for various reasons.

    I'm quite disappointed at UCS X-wing, seems like Lego are being a little lazy with the re-release rather than making something that hasn't been in UCS before. If this is in the summer catalogue, does that mean it will be a May 4th release? I've gotten used to there being 2 UCS offerings per year. If it is the May release I wonder what the Sept/Oct release will be.

    Info we were given by some one on another forum, who works at ToysRUs in Australia is that the new X-Wing is now on the TRU system. Set number #10240 with a price of $279.99AUD, he all so said it was an UCS. I have asked for clarification if on the system it actually has "UCS" anywhere or not. He also thinks it may be a TRU (Australia) exclusive.

    For comparison R2-D2 #10225 is $249.99, B-Wing #10227 is $349.99 & Imperial Shuttle #10212 was $449.99.

    I'll just add that I don't think that TRU Australia marks up its Lego above the RRP like the US TRU. So the price is most likely the AU RRP.

    I've read elsewhere that the X-Wing is in a Death Star Trench. It's just a LEGOshop exclusive; not an UCS. With the rumored price of €100, there is no way it could be a UCS.

    For the trench to be in any way substantial, I guess the X-Wing will have to be pretty small.

    They release new (different) versions of ships that appeared in earlier sets since they are the iconic ones that people want.

    Because that's what people want to buy.

    I came back to LEGO, and the first set I bought was a 9493 X-Wing.

    If LEGO wouldn't have made new models of the X-Wing every 3-4 years, I wouldn't have one.

    Plus usually (not always) newer sets are better than old ones. New building technics, new pieces, better minifigs, etc.

    Just saw the final Barge and RGS confidential pics on another site. They may be new but they are certainly not better than their predecessors. TLG continues its current trend of focusing their efforts on the minifigs and doing a second rate job on the vehicles. I am not surprised....they are in the business of making money and they know minfigs are what sells this category of product in today's market. The new barge is only marginally bigger than the skiff lol. The golden age for Lego SW is over.

    Season 5 Episode 10 of the animated 'comic' has a nice enough looking sail barge on it - yeah... smaller than the previous version but it looks good to me.

    Of course, this is an animation and might not represent the product but the skiff in the same episode looks identical to the new release and, of course, it would be wise for LEGO to demo potential new products accurately in the animation IMO. Have a look via the linky...

    They also show what Yoda Chronicles is going to be about with some of the episodes. I'll bet the yellow vehicle in the video will be made into a set.
