What LEGO-sets did you get for Christmas this year?

Someone has to start this thread, so I'll do it. Let's hear how our LEGO harvest is this year.

I can start, by telling that I got the 6858 Catwoman Catcycle City Chase. Not a big one, but it came from my wife, which (considering her rather moderate opinion of the my LEGO enthusiasm) warmed my heart.

Anyone else?

#10224 Town Hall and #10218 Pet Shop.

With the youngest getting his fill of SW (4 sets including #9515 Malevolence), #10229 Winter Village Cottage and various stocking fillers, we're a very happy household :-)

A Lego free Christmas this year for me. Nothing out there left to get that I wanted at the "right" price. It's been a good year for my SW OT collection, maybe I should've held a set back to build over my almost 2 weeks off work. Enjoy your building everyone!

In a short while, once my boy wakes up, he will find out that he has: #4635 fun with vehicles, #60002 fire truck, #4433 dirt bike transporter, and #7346 seaside house. At 4yrs he will be able to build the fist three with close supervision, but i may be forced to build the last one for him. Woe is me. I hope to have #10218 pet shop for myself. My wife had me get it on brick friday and at least I hope I am the one to receive it.

An Unexpected Gathering. Really looking forward to putting it together when i'm back home - that's sort of the biggest bummer of celebrating Christmas at a house other than your own!

My 2 year old son received several Duplo sets, including Tigger which he loves.

My 4 year old daughter received several Friends sets, including the new Heartlake Pool, which she loves because she loves the water.

My 7 year old son received the Ninjago Final Battle series (70501-70505), because he is nuts about Ninjago.

My wife received the Grand Carousel (#10196) because it is pretty and colorful and because she can build it with the kids and then take them on a real one.
  • BrikingBriking Member Posts: 768
Sorting through the SW sets my youngest got, his Xmas suddenly took a turn for the worse. Not only did he get 2 duplicate #9498. It shouldn't have been on his list to start with as he's already got it! Silly boy.

Anyway, the bank of mum'n'dad stepped in to buy - at RRP (hmmm...) So whilst he now, with Xmas money, and saved pocket money can just about scrape a Millenium Falcon, I've ended up with the beginning of the problem I swore would never happen...

    #9498 x 2
    #3300014 x3

My re-selling days will start in another year or 3... LOL

  • CrownieCrownie Member Posts: 228
I received An Unexpected Gathering (#79003), 2 copies of Escape from the Mirkwood Spiders(#79001), The Orc Forge(#9476), Shelob Attacks(#9470), Gandalf Arrives (#9469), Weathertop (#9472), and 2 DK Books - Harry Potter: Building the Magical World, and Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary.

    My family's awesome.

(Ooh, and a $50.00 LEGO Gift Card from my brother and sister.)

Nothing at all, unless you count my small but successful self-bought haul at Lego Store Watford yesterday and the eBay-won #30161 Batmobile poly which arrived in yesterday's post...
  • cheshirecatcheshirecat Member Posts: 5,331
None for me :( but kids got a house full, cargo and passenger train, station, track etc, gold mine, skiff and membership, batmobiles so far. More to come tomorrow and probably more bought with money they got. The motor on the passenger train seems a bit iffy but otherwise a couple of great sets.

Well I do not know if you are jesting here, but I will say people have far worse Christmas' in this world than getting a duplicate toy. Did they at least have the receipts with them? If so then his Christmas simply is not over yet.. return the toys, tell him what he can spend to get another toy (hopefully they got them at a B&M store).
    :-)

Does this count what I bought myself this Christmas season? LOL

I got my one nephew the Warg set, the other the Beach House, and a couple of Idea books for both, as well as the Parking garage for both of them for their town.
My brother got the Mines of Moria set and my Sis in Law is getting the MF mad scientist set.

That is the gift that keeps on giving to be honest, the discovery of what sets you had in the past and bringing back old memories is just as good as getting a new set sometimes.

Just remember Bricklink... you will most likely need it for your old sets :-)

My three year old got #8486. I put it together for him (he helped on a few occasions, like assembling the tires). He just loves the set. He also got #9478 which is riding on Mack's trailer roof.

We broke out the duplo train sets we had been saving for our 1 year old (I can't belive we waited so long to open it, it's great fun) loads of Cars sets for our 4 year old and this years monster truck racers, the Mrs got some friends sets she didn't know she wanted and I finally (after numerous unsubtle hints) got Jabba's Palace. Thank you Santa!

I did slip a couple of CMFs in to our boys stocking only to be told "Santa must have put these here as a mistake, as these are for you Daddy"!

We had an excellent Lego morning here. :)

    I got:
    Life of George
    Big Ben
    White House
Mini modulars (really excited about these)
Pet shop (from Walmart sale so I knew about it)
VW Bus (knew about this too)

    Husband got:
    Sith Fury Interceptor
    Tie Fighter
    Poly bag in his stocking

    Daughter (6yo):
    Cars Mack Truck
    Friends Beauty Salon
    4207 City Garage
    Friends Brickmaster Book
Friends cat's playground bag in stocking
    CMF fairy in stocking

    Son (2.5yo)
    Cars ultimate build Francesco
    Polybag in stocking
Yellow cargo train built and set up from Santa (really for all of us, and my husband and father in law has been playing with it all morning!)

My daughter can build all of hers on her own, my son's will be built for him and he'll play with it until it falls apart - then we will rebuild. Win-win.

Lego Stores also refund full price gift cards when you return an item without a reciept.

Well at least they used to. It's been a while since I tried.

I got told something similar when I suggested I might treat myself to an SSD if I see one reduced to less than £250. The missus had seen one in the flesh when we were in Prague the weekend just gone and was shocked at the size of it.

I'm almost at this point. Got nothing (although I didn't ask) and was told some organization needs to occur before the collection can get bigger. Can't say it's a bad rule set though. I came out of my dark ages likes bat out of...

I got An Unexpected Gathering and The Goblin King Battle. I'm quite pleased and thankful for my thoughtful sister and mother for getting me each of those sets, respectively. I might do some selfish shopping of my own this weekend, but it looks like this was the year for Tolkien-inspired sets to take down the Star Wars juggernaut that has pretty much dominated my collecting since the fall of BIONICLE. We'll see what the new year brings.

  • monkeyhangermonkeyhanger Member Posts: 3,169
^ My collection has mushroomed in the last year, but it's still modest compared to a lot of photos seen here (it is only OT SW). There is a room in the house which is just for the main computer, a 40" telly with Bluray/Xbox/Surround sound, a small sofa, and it has my Lego in it. The wife is never in here, except for the few weeks she was doing Xbox Kinect before the novelty wore off. I suppose one way to do it would be to rotate the displays, but I was always planning on putting up 2 more shelves.

I got a lego calendar, a sewing machine, serger foot for swimming machine and a multi drawer thingy from Walmart for my little pieces.

My girls got several sets that were on their wish lists.
    My 6 year old got
all 3 Lego friends animals. They are so cute but my favorite is the turtle.
    Summer riding camp 3185
    Mia's magic tricks 41001-1
    Hart lake pool 41008
    Stephanies soccer practice 41011
3 series 8 minifigs- cheerleader, skier, and cowgirl
And Olivia's newborn foal is on its way (back ordered.)

    My 11 year asked for
    Mill village raid 7189
    Medieval market village 10193
Dino hq ( the T. rex is awesome)
All three of the collectible animals from the friends line.

I am building mill raid village now because she just wants o play with the animals. :)

@Monkeyhanger I dont tend to display my models they usually get broken up and then part sorted. But as I live at home it all has to be stored in my room. Its my MOCs that tend to take up the space. Currently Helms Deep is taking up my bedroom top.
