Obviously we all love Lego here but what theme could you not do without? If you check out other members collections this does not necessarily tell you what there into. ( I have collected almost anything Lego) I thought it would be interesting to put your top 3 and then your least favorite.

    Mine are:-

    1) Star wars Lego
    2) Trains
    3) Modular buildings

    Least favorite

    1) Znaps
    2) Scala
    3) Knights Kingdom.

    Top 3 favorite themes:

    1). Western
    2). Batman
    3). Star Wars

Not sure on my least favorite... but LEGO Western is quite possibly the best theme of all time. Just stating the facts. ;)

Top fave/all-time and got me out of the Dark Ages was the Indiana Jones line (specifically Temple Escape).
    Top 3 Favs...
1 - Indiana Jones (God willing and the new movie will relaunch something again from this great line).
2 - Agents (just love all the vehicles and playablility with the Robot and the Command Center as stand-outs).
3 - Star Wars (Been a fan from day one and the vehicles are legendary).

    Least Favs...
1 - Pirates (although I do LOVE the new Pirates of the Caribbean sets...lovely figs and color scheme).
2 - Toy Story (should've just been made into Duplo sets...nothing really stands out).
3 - Cars (...same as Toy Story above).

Wow - tought to keep it to three, but if pushed i would say
    1 - Star Wars
    2 - Harry Potter
    3 - Trains

Speacial mention for the Winter Village stuff, very small range but fantastic.

Don't really have a least favorite, but there are a few line that hold no interest: Alien conquest, World Racers, Hero Factory

    I really like:
    - Technic
    - Model Team
    - And probably the new Alien Conquest, they look awesome. :)

    Most favorite would be

    -City
    -Pirates
    -Castle

    Least favorite are
    -Toy Story
    -Cars
    -Bionicle

@legodad: I have never even seen the Agents line (dark ages) but it sounds brilliant.
@Kevinhink: My 5 year old son (and huge lego fan) would agree with your assessments for sure! I have the old LEGO Chess game on an old PC and he loves the Western theme there. Superheroes and Legos together is a perfect match (so Avengers or Justice League sometime would be great!)

    As for me today:
    1. Modular buildings & Large builds
    2. The new City Space line (I like this more 'real' line, though overpriced, and the Satellite Launch Pad is a bit silly).
    3. Classic Castle and the new Kingdoms sets.

No interest in World Racers, and some of the licensed stuff (PoP, for instance) seems a lttle thin on substance, but I can't say I thoroughly disdain any particular series that I have encountered.
  • andheandhe Member Posts: 3,940
    1. Wolfpack
    2. Wizards/witches
    3. Chefs

Ok, so not strictly themes... But I just can't help buying them and seem to have amassed large amounts of each.

    Least favourite-
Fright knights, clone troopers, galidor ;)
  • HuskerDontHuskerDont Member Posts: 32
    1. City/Town
    2. Trains
    3. Creator

As you can see, I prefer the "real world" themes.

The Toy Story and Cars sets don't really interest me. The Green Army Men set is probably the only set I wanted of the two themes. PoP and HP don't spark my interest. I was never really all that big on Technic either. Not that I didn't like it, I just didn't feel it went well with the sets I had.

Only Top 3? Man that is a hard choice, but here it goes:

    1.City
2.Modulars/Exclusives(ie. Winter Bakery, Maersk Train, etc)
    3.Creator(Houses only)
  • cloud0cloud0 Member Posts: 101
    1. Modulars
    2. Vikings!
    3. Big Scale Models
  • mackrelmackrel Member Posts: 75
    My top two thumbs up:

    1.City
    2.Creator
    3.Star Wars

My "I don't understand the attraction"
    1.Bionicle
    2.CM
    3.Racers
  • war44lockwar44lock Member Posts: 75
I was brought out of my "Dark Ages" in early 2010 by Star Wars Lego.

My top three would have to be:

    1. Star Wars (original trilogy)
    2. Kingdoms and classic castle
    3. Pirates (classic more than modern)

    Least preferred would be:

    1. Bionicle
    2. Knights Kingdom
    3. Fright knights
  • BillBill Member Posts: 1
    My favs are:

    1. Blacktron 1
    2. Crusaders (from the 80s)
    3. The Space theme prior to Blacktron 1

    My least favs are:

    1. Anything licensed (Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc.)
    2. Knights Kingdom 1 + 2
    3. Anything being released lately
  • bmwlegobmwlego Member Posts: 819
    Three Themes to Treasure
1-Modular Town Buildings-Green Grocer my fav from this theme so far
2-Racers Tiny Turbos-Renegade my fav from the theme which for me combined the childhood love of Hot Wheels and LEGO!
3-Space Police 3-Raid VPR being my favorite small LEGO set of my AFOL "career"

    Three Themes to "Trash"
1-Bionicle and all their unpronounceable names!
2-the large $12-$15 Racers sets whether they be pullback or step and pump cars. Tese sets are way overpriced for what little amount of parts you get.
3-Ben 10-$15 for 8 or so parts? You kidding me?

Also love Futuron and Legoland Town themes but they didn't make the list because there were only 3 slots.

    1. Castle, specifically Dragon Knights from the early 90s
    2. Pirates (From the old 80s sets up to the new pirates, they're all awesome)
    3. Star Wars Episodes IV-VI

As far as least favourite I can't really judge much but this is my crack at it:
    1. Bionicle
    2. Licensed sets that are marketed towards the younger crowd (Toy story, cars, etc)
    3. Space (too many weird parts that don't go well with Castle sets)
  • Bluefox1966Bluefox1966 Member Posts: 360
Some great calls here, I forgotten how bad Galidor Lego was and that some AFOL hate the licenced themes. With a few exceptions it looks like most of us are on the same page when it comes to favorites.

Keep them coming it's great to see members common interests.

Usually Star Wars, but right now my favorite theme is Indiana Jones. I've been busy acquiring sets I missed out on in stores while I was focused on Star Wars. Those Indy sets now sell at quite a premium.
  • bmwlegobmwlego Member Posts: 819
    @legoDad
Thanks man. Loved Agents too. Want to do the same for that theme.
  • BrickBugBrickBug Member Posts: 14
As far as I can remember, these are my top favorite themes.
    1. Star Wars
    2. Forestmen (It was a kind of Subtheme in the old LEGO Knights)
    3. Town (I loved this so much as a kid and still do)

Forestmen is good call. I also liked the Robin Hood guys, especially the hideout set.
  • sonsofscevasonsofsceva Member Posts: 542
I take back what I said about no interest in World Racers up above. I never really gave them a look since I am not into racecar motifs. But it is two teams blowing each other up!
As a father to two young boys who are LEGO nuts, this is their dream: sup'ed up vehicles + fighting = awesome. Plus one team has flaming skull logos. How can we go wrong with flaming skulls? ;-) My interest is piqued. Too bad I didn't look closer during the TRU BOGO sale last month...

    Top 3
    1. Castle
    2. Pirate
    3. Star Wars

    Bottom 3
    1. 4 Juniors/Jack Stone
    2. Galidor
    3. Znap
  • slovakiastephslovakiasteph Member Posts: 62
    Top 3...
    1. Creator... all the building possibilities!
    2. City... but not into the rescue-type buildings
    3. Kingdoms... but mostly sets like the MMV.

In fact, those are really the *only* three genres I'm interested in. Yeah, so I'm weird. :) No SW here.

So, what is your favorite lego theme of all time? I guess I'll go with...so many to choose from......the original lego batman!
  • SupersympaSupersympa Member Posts: 534
Lego Castle...not the one we see now...the REAL ones from the 80's! :)
  • legos4everlegos4ever Member Posts: 45
Yes, what I would do to get my hands on those...

studio line, but only the monster sets. ah, sweet sweet monster hunter sets can't get here soon enough....
  • Brewer51Brewer51 Member Posts: 248
^ I can second that. Scary Lab is a great set.

For me though it's adventurers. The one toy I went back to time and time again was my Sphinx Secret Surprise. I liked the Rock Raiders stuff too.
  • littletokilittletoki Member Posts: 519
I have to go back to my childhood on this one as much as I love the current Modulars and Star Wars themes.

    Classic Space.
  • OldfanOldfan Member Posts: 706
^Seconded. Classic Space all the way!
  • cdm22cdm22 Member Posts: 7
Star Wars now but definitely Classic Space from my childhood! I still moan at my mother to this day for her giving my lego away to a friends kid when i was a teenager!
  • Blue1dotBlue1dot Member Posts: 78
I'd have to go with castles
  • ErnstErnst Member Posts: 133

Castle no doubt with Pirates a good second.
  • DuchessaDuchessa Member Posts: 287
The modulars are great, but I really love the old Western theme. I have all of the sets, and I really hope I can put them on display one day...
  • Si_UKNZSi_UKNZ Member Posts: 4,179
creator, by far, because they're built around what to me are 'true' lego values.
  • jadedancjadedanc Member Posts: 1,302
Castles definitely! And I would add as a new AFOL, I would love to get the Viking sets personally, as well as the Modulars.
  • richoricho Member Posts: 3,830
I would have to say Star Wars, as it's what got me back in to Lego a number of years back when I made an impulse purchase of the Snowspeeder in Woolworths. Must be nearly 10 years ago!
  • vader34mtvader34mt Member Posts: 88
Star Wars now as an AFOL, but Pirates back when I was a kid
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
As a kid it was Classic Space with M-Tron and Black-Tron. As a reborn AFOL it is StarWars/New Space (City/Expedition/Rovers/Satellites). Guess my taste doesn't change much over the years...

I think the Indana Jones sets are quite under rated, so many scenes and ideas Lego did not make...
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,526

    For me:
    1. CMF (OK, not really a theme, but they got me back into Lego).
    2. Knights / Castles.
    3. Star Wars (IV-VI only).

I've found the CMF have really sparked creativity, with me building MOCs rather than following instructions.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
    1. Pirate ships (original, IF, PotC)
    2. Trains
    3. SW
  • TheBigGuyTheBigGuy Member Posts: 69
Star Wars for sure, it is what got me back intocollecting Lego as an adult. That is the only theme I am collecting at the moment, so I don' really have asecond favourite, although the Imperial Flagship from the recent Pirates theme is my favourite set.
  • SupersympaSupersympa Member Posts: 534
@CCC i completely agree: Star Wars (IV-VI only). the real ones! ;)
  • LegoChiefLegoChief Member Posts: 21

    My top 3:
    1. Trains
    2. City
    3. Creator houses
  • The_Brick_BuilderThe_Brick_Builder Member Posts: 658

    1. City/Trains/Modulars
    2. Some Star Wars exclusives (10188, 7965, etc.)

I don't really like any other themes.
