The set looks good
If he does end up being the CW version of Yoda (I really hope not), will this be the first SW set to mix CW figs with PT/OT figs?
i think TLC should really let the market settle down. plenty of other materials to make into sets without having to keep rehashing a-wings, b-wings, y-wings, x-wings, etc. the constant rehashing meant fans are putting off from buying the sets. there is no urgency in purchase because as soon as a set retires, a new and better one pops up to replace it: e.g. x-wing.
it has gotten to the point where no one is willing to buy out older sets because everyone knows there will always be a replacement in the future. especially given that the license has just been renewed for another 10 years.
just look at last year's sets. they are already being offered daily for 30% off, like the sith infiltrator, and still not moving. In the past, anything labeled SW would have moved at 20% off.
in the end, this will hurts their bottom line. no one wants to buy now if the same or better can be had in the future. no reseller would lap up any clearance either for the same reason.

New planet series sets
More appropriate, to a degree.

It'll be awesome to see these two sets come together.
Goto: 00:30.
The other sets look very poor imo, and is it me or are all the sets quite small? Let's hope the second batch is more interesting.

I was all excited about having it next to the new X-Wing, but this one just doesn't look "right". It needs another 50 parts and needs to be ever so slightly bigger.
But that's just me, I doubt any kid is going to care. :)
As to why Han is there...collectability and selling power. They've done away with the ground crew and machinery (though I very much liked the guy's hockey helmet in #6207) and put in two more minifigs. It's a cheaper way to ratchet up the "desire factor" on an otherwise small set that has been done before.
Not sure if I will buy this when I first see it on the shelf as I originally planned. I might wait for a sale after all...
