Interesting thought about using the LEGO catalog as a reference for price matching... I wonder if that would fly at TRU or Target to get them back to MSRP?
Even less likely to say, "can I have MSRP, then BOGO50%, then $25 off $100, then my rewards points?"
:)
So if there is an item with $50 RRP, and TRU price is $60, you get two with BOGO, it end up costing you $45 so TRU will not price match...
I was hoping to get the $20 off to stack. Am I missing something or does the BOGO not work on this set. Thanks!
Ok, ok, fine, you win... TRU can have some money... :)
Now, we'll see how many 10217 and 10212 arrive in perfect condition. :)
I have put 2 x 10217 into my basket (TRU now) as I haven't got these from my collection and will sell the other .. came to £210 including delivery and tax to the UK, but has anyone used TRU to the UK and do they turn up squashed to bits? I have had some from UK to UK and they were squashed a bit :(
Have to be quick as that is a great price!
Too much Lego this month!!
Anyone have a Diagon Alley and Hogwarts Castle with beat up boxes they'd sell for $120 a pop? Maybe including shipping? OK. That's pushing it a bit.
How about a different offer. I'll buy the parts... you keep the minifigs, box, directions, etc. You can still sell all of those. Maybe I'll throw in a set of 2011 Xmas sets to sweeten the pot.
PM if we can work something out.
^ An interesting hypothesis (and very likely correct); unfortunately that may be all we get in explanation as I don't think even the employees know how the system works.
On a related note, I have a TRU "express" nearby that was participating in the BOGO 50% and also had a 25% off everything coupon at the entrance (applicable to all TRU Express and Outlets it said) which they let me stack with the BOGO 50%. The store didn't have any of the bigger sets I wanted and had a slim selection of mostly SW, LOTR, City, Friends, Monsters, Ninjango. But, that is about half off so I grabbed some SW! Check around for an "outlet"!
I have to say though, other than the giant labels on the front, the condition of the box is actually really good.
Thanks again @sidersdd for the heads up on the set.
Sheesh!

Again...TRU and TRU Express must be different. I was by one today in Iowa (at an outlet mall) and prices were outrageous...even by TRU standards. I checked around and found the LEGO...saw no signs of BIGI 50% OFF..so I asked the lady at the counter and her reply was "If it's on sale we'd have a sign out stating it...but I'll go ask my manager." So she goes in back and comes out and says "I guess they are on sale!?" So I thought since they didn't have a clue about it, I'd check out the Ninjago and maybe I'd get a B1G1 50% Ninjago sets. Wrong!! Ninjago 9448 Samurai Mech...$48.98, 9444 Coles Assault Vehicle a mear $68.89 and 9449 Ultra Sonic Raider $98.89 and even Friends Cafe Corner was a cool $45.89.
