As commanded by my kids, #7498 for the 5th time in 6 months, THEN I'm supposed to build Metro PD Station. & we already have Forest Police Station built. Dunno why they need 3 police stations at once.

Just pulled together 6271 Imperial Flagship from a big mixed box I bought last week, one sail and the stern post missing but other than that well pleased, next out will be fort Legorado which seems to be mostley there ( the minifigs are at least).
Has anyone got a printable copy of the front sail of this 6271 ship so I can cut one out of stiff paper?

Bought and built FB and GE back in October. Decided I wanted all the modulars, but didn't want to pay silly money for original sets. So i've downloaded the build instructions and have gone down the PAB route. Some re-designs based on the brick/colour availability from S@H...!

CC became Bar Corner with a bar, wine fridge and a sign matching the Hotel sign. And the Hotel got a reception desk (I decided to build out backwards so the shape of this corner building became the same as the GE) and internal walls to create 3 bedrooms. I'm quite pleased with the end result.

Now I've got GG and MS on the go. Picked up 3 Beach Houses in the recent 3 for 2 sale at Tesco (which was already discounted £7 at my local store) so plenty of light blue bricks for MS. Had to make the first floor one brick taller to fit a 1x4x6 door frame, and the top floor got some more changes. But I think it'll fit in ok. The last few bricks for MS plus enought for the ground floor of GG should be delivered this week.

So as long as Santa brings PS and TH, my town should start to take shape :)

@Briking I've got to see Bar Corner!!!

Been working last 3 days, so didn't build much. Have a brick calendar to open, but already have it built, it's just for parts and the figs, but maybe i'll build december out of it to get ahead of the game. Opened 2 copies each of Minoturus #3841, Heroica Nathuz #3859 & Draida #3857 but only built one small section of Nathuz (the skull cavern bit) because it was interesting but after 13 hours in an ambulance and getting called to come in 2 hours earlier for yesterday i didn't have energy for much more

and now 10 mins later i have a brick calendar ready to go for december and another S1 skater & cheerleader =-D

A friend (same one I helped with the Haunted House) are hanging out in Chicago this December and we're each going to construct a Shuttle Expedition. Instead of assisting him over Skype, we'll build them side-by-side on a weekend in between hanging out with other friends, making our ritual pilgrimage to the Lego Store at Water Tower Place and just taking in the sights of the city in winter (and freezing our asses off in the process no doubt since two of the last three years our trip coincided with the freakin' single-coldest day of the year).

#8061 Atlantis Gateway of the Squid. Decent little build, built and disassembled, but now i have the squid guardian and that's sweet =)

Just finished building the 7893 with a few tweaks! :-

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/pricey73/sets/72157632092771689/

I was challenged by someone at AFOLCON to build a tour plane to go with my arena and have only just got round to doing it.
The interior is ready to go in, with a rehearsal space (with drums and amps!) in the mid section.
    It'll upset the purists!

@Briking I would love to see your Bar Corner also. My version has stopped at top of ground floor windows, must get some more done to it!

#8061 Atlantis Gateway of the Squid.

That theme gets a lot of flak for being awful and selling way short of retail price in the aftermarket, but I certainly enjoyed much of it. Some great beastly critters to construct, and most of the "villain" minifigs are rather nice.

Gateway of the Squid was clearanced out for $12 (shipped) at Target at one point early this year. Great deal. I bought a pair.

Well it's Christmas time, and I just got my Thanksgiving Day order.

In it was a few 40010 Santa with Sleigh and 40034 Christmas Train.

Knowing I wouldn't be happy with the basics I bought multiple and this is how they came out:

    https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/113902067947273159093/albums/5815201474296175329

I limited my self to 4 Sleigh sets since I couldn't by 8 (limit 5), but realized I should have ordered the 5th and given it a red nose. I thought I might go Pick-a-brick and get 5 more reindeer but several pieces aren't available, and the pieces that were already totaled $15. Probably just cheaper to buy 5 more sets and have the extra parts. There's probably more tweaks to be had, I'd like to get ahold of a Santa minifig instead of the brick santa. And I probably want to rework the sleigh some more. Maybe for next year though.

    Next up:

    10216 Winter Village Bakery
    10222 Winter Village Post Office
    3300014 2012 LEGO Holiday Set

Just finished #79003. I absolutely LOVE the way the round window is made in it :)

    Also just finished sorting a large bin for a friend. Came across complete sets #7237, #7248, #7899, #8654, #8672 & #8673.

Next up: I am still working on my LSU stadium....slowly :) and will prob start on #8160, #8161 or #10019. I have about 15-20 sets from BrickCon I still haven't gotten to. But I fly out on Wed to see my daughters FINALLY! I only get to see them twice a year :( so I try to spoil them rotten when I do. And YES, I have gotten the 12 & 8 year olds hooked into LEGO :) Tried on the 15 year old, but she is already into "teen" stuff and LEGO is childish she says lol. I will keep trying though :)

Well my order arrived and I built the WV Post Office and the 2012 Special set. On sunday morning my son and I built the Bank and money transfer. All 3 sets were great builds and my holiday display now looks much nicer with 2 sets in it instead of the bakery sitting all by it's lonesome. Right now I only have a couple of restorations that need a few $$$ to complete and after that nothing. I need to buy a few more sets to keep me busy. After Santa makes his visit there will be a couple of new sets for my son that will require some help from dad.

Started an MOC a few nights ago after Series 10 was discovered. I'm revamping my original design of a baseball field and building it in modular sections. This will allow me to take it to conventions if I please. It will be a very slow build as it is rather brick heavy per section. From the baseplate the field level will be 5 plates high. Below are pictures of the first section (home plate)

I'm sure you could imagine I am thrilled about the new baseball mold :)

About the baseball MOC... I get the last pic but the other 2 I'm not too sure what part of the MOC they are supposed to be.
  • kylejohnson11kylejohnson11 Member Posts: 508
@dread_pirate the two other shots were before I got to the final one. I built the baseplate up one brick in order to put the technic bricks to make it modular. Then I added 1 layer of plates. After that I laid the grass and dirt plates (final picture).

@kylejohnson11 I love the project, and recommend Hispabricks' MILS system, which ILUGNY used heavily for our NYCC display. Just one question? Since when is home plate a square ;-) Good luck!

Impatiently waiting for the parts I sourced so I can finish my Cafe Corner build. Built #10229 Winter Village Cottage and the 2012 holiday set last night. I trying to figure out if my budget will allow me to buy the Winter Post Office and Bakery sets
  • kylejohnson11kylejohnson11 Member Posts: 508
@murphquake Thank you for the heads up on the MILS system. I had not heard of it before and will be digging into it. From the high level look it seems to fit exactly what I am trying to do. I need to brainstorm and figure out how to make a pentagon to be in the right scale.

1/4 the way through my cafe corner and already missing bits. I hate eBay sometimes :(
  • chuckpchuckp Member Posts: 684
^ Ouch! I get annoyed when a new set is missing a piece that I can easily get replaced by Lego. I would be in a Hulk-like rage at Cafe Corner prices. ;)

I just finished #5885 Triceratops Trapper I picked up on a BF sale. At less than 300 pcs., it only took about 25 min. to build. It's a nice set at $40, not so much at the $50 MSRP. If this set came out when I was a kid, it would have definitely been my favorite.

Kids wanted me to build Imperial Flagship, but I made a deal w/ them to build Camouflaged Outpost & Sea Serpent instead.
  • gelkstergelkster Member Posts: 927
& when we have "too many" sets built & they want me to build more, I'll usually dismantle a few they haven't played w/ awhile. Today City Corner, Bank & Money Transfer, & Seaplane went bye-bye.

Apparently if you can't beat them, join them!

Just finished building #9396 Technic helicopter. Really enjoyed the build. Added the power functions and used equal sized gears over the the large/small pairing that they show in the instructions so that the blades turned faster. It's actually a lot bigger than I had anticipated and really like the way they were able to do the gearing so that the blades, landing gear, back door and winch all work.

Making Lego ornaments for our Christmas tree, found clear ornaments in several shapes and sizes at Michael's Crafts and once the hanger and top are removed either small parts or flat pieces can be inserted, then the hanger and cap replaced. When completed I'll try to post a picture!

Today my boys asked me to build Imperial Landing Craft. I had about half an hour, had to decline. I gave them the pieces, plus 5 BrickMaster sets & had them build their own Star Wars ships.

Nothing. There is no LEGO in China.

Well, strictly speaking, that's not true, but I'm on a budget and LEGO is expensive in China... and I want to travel, so...

This forum fills me with lots of jealousy :) Yet at the same time I live vicariously through you all...
