    @thornie there's gotta be more than one Target in all of Brooklyn, no? Is Erskine/Gateway the only one? They had a good selection when I went a couple weeks ago.

    @murphquake You're right. I totally forgot about the one off of Erskine. The location I was referencing was the one in the Atlantic Center by the new stadium.

    ^ Actually, that is fine. You sold them 2.5 years ago for several times RRP. Could you sell them for more today? Sure, maybe, but it would take time. In that time, you've done other things with the money.

    It looks like the MF zombie-set is gone for good (in germany)i knew a lot of sellers who had it in stock couple weeks ago now they don't! Pretty strange!

    I never saw them in the US (South Florida). My father's nieghbor is from Germany and had family coming into town so he said he'd have them pick one up. (and then just gave it to him in exchange for picking them up from the airport) :-)

    I'd probably pick up a couple of extras if I found them around here. You can never have enough zombies.

    So based on the BF discount list for Lego Stores, the sets listed will tipically EOL. It seems a bit early fo the Mini Modulars. Will there be any demand after EOL?

    IS is back to $260 at Target... I'm not sure where else Amazon is price matching at $230 but it will probably being going back up shortly if it was Target. It was a coin flip for me to order this from [email protected] with Free Holiday set vs. no tax.

    Minecraft is very odd. Its available on & off from [email protected], yet people are paying a 35%+ premium on ebay. I just dont get it.

    ^Well, it hasn't been in stock anywhere for 3 weeks, and hasn't been readily available for longer than that, so I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't want to chance waiting for it to come back.

    I know from a few friends who are dad's, that this is massive with boys in the age range of 8-16, so I guess its a 'hot' brand right now, hence the mass interest.

    its been like that for days. ebay is still active as most people need it before mid December. It doesn't half sell though. Would love to know how much the creator has made off it seeing as they receive 1% of sales.

    And since we're way beyond the "review" period for the last round of Cuusso sets, it makes me wonder if they've given up on the whole thing.

    It is taking too long between items hitting 10,000 votes and hearing anything back, perhaps the whole thing has been quietly dropped? Can't imagine why, but has anyone heard anything since Summer? Aren't we like 6 months past the last round of sets that hit 10,000 votes?

    Of course, that is a month old now, and they haven't finished with summer sets and they claim they have started fall reviews.

    It might be in "beta", but this isn't reflecting well. The Curiousity Rover project got to 10,000 very fast, now no one cares anymore.

    They needed to have something designed and out the door within a few weeks, that project missed the mark. They could have sold tens of thousands of them this past summer when it was all over the news.

    I think they are struggling with some kind of license there, either Back to the Future or Zelda.

    I think at some point Minecraft will not even bring retail anymore. I have never heard someone who genuinely wanted it for themselves. It seems the only people buying it are second hand retailers...

    ^ Well they fly at well above RRP on ebay. Is this just down to resellers buying from resellers?

    This is happening in the UK, where it is available on backorder easy enough, so resellers looking to put them away could easily buy now for delivery at a later date.

    I have shipped 14 minecraft sets in 2 days. They are easily the most wanted lego set on ebay at the moment.

    ^ agreed, and I think it's safe to say that most ebay buyers are getting them for family for building or collecting and not for reselling (based on feedback I've seen).

    I don't re-sell, but I think this set might have rather a bell curve of value, as at some stage, kids generally move on to the next big thing. It is indeed very hot now though.

    I would love to have one of the Minecraft sets to keep! I don't play the game but my husband does, and I think it looks pretty cool.
    Hope no one minds me chiming in here, I'm new to the forum- it was this thread that made me want to join! Took the time to read thru all of it and want to thank everyone for all the great information!

    Well I had the same. After reading this thread over and over again, I decided to join. It was a good decision.

    To leave some comments on the Minecraft hype, I bought one extra set, put it up for sale online, and all the responses came from people who wanted to buy it for either their child or grandchild.

    Totally agree, it is the most boring, uninteresting Lego model ive seen, i honestly don't care what after market value it brings i know id neverspend my money on one.

    It's a 10+ set. At that age I started giving up on toy cars for computer games.

    I still don't understand why its so popular, if i was a kid of 10 again i sure as hell wouldnt want that, give me an exclusive, themed or city set anyday, yes they are more expensive but in the long run the play value is much better, the minecraft looks like a set you would play with for 5 minutes(if that) then get bored of it.

    It just looks too small to have any meaningful play value.

    My nephew is 8 and loves Minecraft.. I think it does not matter how the graphics are or how bad the game play is, it is catching kids attn. I still have an issue since Id much rather play with bricks, but I think on Minecraft they are (roughly) more abundant than what some kids may have access to..
    To each their own and I agree with you, I think it is a lot of hullabaloo over what essentially could be build on BL.

    Yeah, if you don't understand the draw of Minecraft think of it this way. Take your favorite hobby, board game, book, sports game, etc. Now, what if LEGO made an exclusive set based on that 'insert your favorite something' of yours? You would probably want to have it. And, if it were hard to find, you'd want it even more. (funny how we humans are about that) That is the draw of Minecraft.

    Were those action figures based on movie characters? (Mine sure were... Star Wars!) How different is that than basing a product on a video game character? How many people here would have loved to have seen a Zelda Lego release?

    I don't think this has anything to do with video game addiction. It would be like saying that kids like Ninjago because of their TV addiction. People, including kids, can enjoy video games (or tv or movies) without being addicted.

    Basing a toy on a video game character is no different than basing it on a movie character or tv show character, except I'm surprised it has taken Lego this long to do it.

    First off, I don't think this set was ever aimed at lego fans. It is aimed at minecraft fans. Some people (both adults and kids) like playing computer games and wouldn't care less about the latest exclusive lego set. Those people are buying this. It is literally a tie in to their little world.

    Most lego fans know you can get much more lego for your money and better play value - but their idea of play value is very different to a minecraft fan.

    As a 12 year old, I would have loved to have had a tie in toy with Lunar Jetman / Manic Miner / Jet Set Willy / Technician Ted .... (many UK games in case anyone in the US doesn't know what I am talking about).
