But ...
Set 790xx - Treebeard encounter
Includes: Merry, Pippin, Orc, Treebeard(brickbuild)
Pieces: 583
Price Range: $60
That tree is going to have to be good to justify $60, if there are three existing minifigs with it. I wonder if they will do a modification to Merry and Pippin.
Includes: Gandalf, Saruman, 5 Mordor Orcs(no Uruk Hai). It will also include the Palantir.
Pieces: 1034
Price Range: $100
Set 790xx - Bridge of Khazad Dum
Includes: Gandalf, Balrog(brickbuild)
Pieces: 291
Price Range: $40
Given two new Hobbit sets will have Gandalf, and another two new LOTR sets too, I wonder if the first of these will be White. A Wormtongue would be good too, in place of an orc.

There looks to be some sort of dragon on them shelfs aswell as an osgilliath set, I could be wrong though because some of them are hard to make out.
@Kez it could be a Nazgul. Although I never set much store in the pictures sadly. Just that it looks the best place to work ever.
And I agree with @redbullgivesuwind - as I mentioned with the Balrog set... the piece count sounds way off, or it just seems like it will be a lackluster set.
But what excited me was that pirate ship to the right of the Atlantis sets and before the LotR sets! I'd love another pirate ship

Regardless, if the brick-built Ents turn out nearly as well as they look in that screenshot, I'll probably pick up two or three.

i) Frodo escaping from the Shire and being chased by Nazgul
ii) Nazgul on Fell Beast attacking Osgiliath while Frodo is there (I know, not in the books, you purists).
The second makes more sense to me, and Osgiliath could be a very intricate set. Also, maybe a Faramir minifig?
Faramir makes sense as an additional figure in the set as well, and one can hope for a couple Gondor soldiers, though I'm not holding my breath on that bit.
On a side note, it's not the fact that this scene wasn't in the book that drives most purists nuts. It's because it's utterly absurd.
These sets should all include great structures and minifigures! Except for the wizard battle, I suppose that will only feature Gandalf and Saruman. The big question there is of course, will it feature Orthanc (Saruman's residence), or will it just be some furniture of sorts, like in "4191 Captain's Cabin"? I have a feeling this will be the small set of the line up. Unless there actually is a "Frodo and Ringwraith" set.
"79006 The Council of Elrond", can come in all sizes. I'm thinking it will be the 40£ set, featuring the council, and some structures. All sorts of minifigures might be included, and probably some we've seen before. Some new ones will surely be Elrond, and old Bilbo. Maybe Frodo in a white shirt, with a west (even though he wears the same clothes as always in the actual council scene).
"79007 Battle at the Black Gate": I assume this set will be the biggest of the line up, featuring the large Black Gate. I'm sure of at least two minifigures we'll get in this set: Gandalf the White, and Aragorn in his royal armor. There should be two trolls included, as they're required to open the gate. I'm expecting at least four orcs, but that's probably too optimistic. Two Gondorian soldiers would be nice, and I think we might get Pippin in Gondorian armor, as well as Merry in his clothes from Rohan. We might also get the Mouth of Sauron, although he's only in the extended version of the films, so it might not be too likely.
"79008 Pirate Ship Ambush", I was kind of expecting this set, seeing as LEGO has some history with battle ships. This set is likely to feature many nice details, as the pirate ships from Umbar have very nice designs, featuring new sails, amongst other things. The minifigures will probably be three or four pirates, Aragorn, and some ghosts (hopefully a lot). Maybe an orc, or two, depending on the size.
What do you think will come out of the next line of LotR sets?
I am with you on the fact that we have still not heard anything definitive on LOTR 2013 . Lego would likely be coming out with 5-6 at best , but the rumors we hearing and the titles seem to be conflicting . So What is the final line up .. hmmm
This is what i found a few days back and posted on the form :

The set number on the one you listed as "Ghost Ship" matches the one listed on Brickset, so I guess there's some truth to it. I see the set number on the eagle set is the same as the "Black Gate", a scene which features eagles... So maybe we are getting some eagles. Lucky for Thorin and Bifur in "Attack of the Wargs".
Not enough 'meat' to sink my teeth into yet, if you will. I don't want to get too excited about something only to have it turn out to be false.
The film ends with the eagles' rescue, but they don't bring them to their nests, they leave them at Carrock, just before they meet Beorn.
