^All good. Check the very bottom of the first page of this thread. It seems you might have an extra #2 bag.

    Two questions:

Does anyone know the number of bags (1s, 2s, and 3s) in the Town Hall set (10224)?

Does Brickset provide this type of information somewhere? If not, it seems like it would be a great addition to the database to ensure everything arrives in good order...

    Any assistance would be appreciated...

I just heard from Lego and they gave me a lower bag count for the TH than I received. I figured they would know if anyone did...

Well, found the answer to my first question at the link below thanks to @dougts.

    http://www.bricksetforum.com/discussion/2968/the-next-modular-town-hall-10224/p8

I would like to humbly request that the number of bags in a set be tracked in the Brickset Database to help identify issues like those that happened with the FB modular last year...

Administrators - you can close this thread if you wish...

    @Farmer_John

While the Brickset DB doesn't track this stuff currently, we have a thread:

    Nice...

The numbers you and Yellowcastle have for the TH match with what I received in my set. I've gone back and forth with TLG a few times now, and they are saying the TH has several fewer bags than the consensus on Brickset. I think they are wrong, but whatever...

Thanks for pointing me to the thread.

Mods - You can close this thread at your discretion.

That's what happened me regarding a VW Beetle. They more or less told me it was impossible for me to have as many bags as I did. However, all of the bags I had were required for the build with very view pieces left over. Equally, I've had two UCS X-wings boxes with a different number of bags inside.
  • Farmer_JohnFarmer_John Member Posts: 2,405
^That's just odd...you would think that of anyone TLG reps would have accurate bag counts of every set in their database. The rep I've been dealing with is adamant about bag counts he's been giving me, but my counts agree perfectly with the numbers given by @Yellowcastle and @Dougts. I'm wondering if it's worth a call to TLG's customer service to try and clear it up. At least I might get additional information on what they are basing the bag counts on (and internal database, etc.). Just odd...

    I may have mIscounted the bags in the Winter Cottage, as I counted them after I built it, but my count was;

    5 - #1
    7 - #2
    5 - #3

If I am wrong please correct me.

Though not insurmountable, a challenge with capturing this information would be ensuring the integrity of the data. It would most likely be a crowd-sourced effort, and as such, prone to some error and in need of verification.

I've long wondered why Bricklink doesn't capture this data as part of the set inventory process.

then doublechecked the contents of my two semi-opened modulars.

You're starting to semi-open the sets you have? Progress!

I recently purchased a Green Grocer with opened seals. Does anybody know how many bags there should be? Here's what was in mine which fill up the box nicely. Numbers on the bags indicate the floor level.

2 green 16x32 base plates, 3 instructions books and 24 bags total:

-1 un-numbered bag with plates in it.
-7 bags with the #1 on it. 4 are large and 3 are small.
-5 bags with the #2 stamped on them. 3 are large and 2 are small.
-10 bags with the #3 stamped on them. 6 are large and 4 are small.

    Thanks

Found the following link that might be helpful. It's a review on the Green Grocer set with a bag breakdown, etc.

Thanks for the link. I hope that it isnt correct as it says that there were 35 bags to my count of 24. Plus my box didnt have an inner tray. It just doesnt seem like there would be room for 11 more bags.
  • RennyRenny Member Posts: 1,145
Okay, found this topic discussion and it looks like the bag count is more in line with what you may have. Maybe the set had different sized bags when it first came out resulting in more bags?

@ecmo47 a lot of Lego sets will have other bags within the main bags of the set, usually of smaller pieces. For example, a SW set with a minifigure that has a non standard head and a clone trooper with a pauldron/kama/helmet light/rangefinder would have the head bagged seperately, the clone accessories bagged seperately, and small parts in 1 or 2 bags per larger bag, so it's possible the Eurobricks count includes all of those bags broken down as well?

P.S. your name? related to Extra-Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation by any chance? Me and my obscure references
  • ecmo47ecmo47 Member Posts: 2,101
^^ Thanks for the link. Those numbers are more in line with what I have. When I get home from work tonight, I'm going the check the weight. Lego does quality control by weight so if mine is close to the info posted on Bricklink/Brickset, I should be good.

^ Not even close! Electronic Counter-Measures Officer. I am a retired Marine and flew 20 years in the EA-6B Prowler. As far as your thought, thanks, but in this set, there are no bags within bags.
  • ecmo47ecmo47 Member Posts: 2,101
I miss-counted the bags. There is 24 total but there are 8 #1 bags (4 large, 4 small). This is the same count as Yellow Castle and DaddyWhale on the other thread. Weight is 6# 10 oz which about 180 grams less then what is listed on the Bricklink info page for this set.

I'd also be grateful if someone could confirm this. I finally got mine from Tesco nearly three weeks after ordering and you can see it has already been open. Don't think I'll be able to ask for another as it looks like they are sold out. Before I break open the bags can any one confirm the following bag count:

    Bag 1 x 5
    Bag 2 x 4
    Bag 3 x 7

    Many thanks

    James

Does anyone have a bag count for #3677 ? My new set arrived from TRU with open seals.
  • dr_tengdr_teng Member Posts: 101
This seems like a handy thread. :)

ogelogel : If it was direct from Amazon (and not a third party seller) I've never heard of a set, even with one open seal, being incomplete. It's possible, just unlikely.
