    Just finished the sopwith camel. Truly impressive kit. It kinda makes the $400.00 spent on the ssd seem like wasted money???

    Finished the 'study'. Shelves and desks, now sporting the DC and Marvel superheroes sets.... with a couple of star wars sets thrown in.

    Dropped off my "Town with Subway below" MOC off to Wenham Museum for 6 weeks, where it is part of a Lego Sculpture Exhibit ...

    The subway part took 7-8 days at 2-3 hours a day (or so, maybe more!)

    Hmm, would a rant about my brickset status be off-topic?

    I like the brickset community: very friendly, lots of interesting, nice, informative and helpful posts, have many many good trades here, too. But I am surprised in the ratio of trade negotiations that end in nothing because the other party stalls or, often after days, suddenly change their minds, suddenly refuse to trade and want to sell instead, etc. etc.

    Get me right: Changing one's mind is ok. In fact, never engage in a trade you don't really want to engage in. But then, just say so - don't stall or squirm, fake illnesses etc. And make up your mind before you post.

    Am I the only one experiencing this? Really tiring...

    Spent most of the day in a mad dash across town to get a Team GB Weightlifter to complete my set. After trying Tesco, Toys R Us, John Lewis and two independent toy shops I finally came to Argos. A mad search through the catalogue found nothing. But as I turned to leave, I bumped into a display stand with two full boxes!
    He now proudly stands with his team mates on our dining room cabinet :)

    Finished the AT-OT half of #10195 and it's awesome for playability factor (maybe as much as the Republic Gunship). But stuck on a business trip and can't get to the Dropship until the weekend. Work keeps getting in the way of my Lego habit =(

    ^ You're not looking at what I'm looking at. I received a large order together with a large receipt today - although only two thirds arrived. Have just integrated what did arrive into my LEGO room and other sets. I'm looking at it all, shaking my head and thinking, "This is insane."

    There is a bit of a feeling of emptiness as my quest for UCS MF parts is now over. It will all be ok when all of my remaining consignments arrive in the next week. Once it's built though, i'm not sure if Lego have anything else out to whet my SW Lego appetite in 2012, unless one of the European Amazon sites makes a discounted UCS B-Wing a must have.

    For the first time ever, I have bought The Daily Star. Why? To get the pullout featuring @savage_steel's awesome Olympian and Paralympian minifigs. Well done Caroline and Nick!
    It has also reminded me I need to post you a couple of Team GB boxers!!

    Finished up Helm's Deep tonight. Absolutely wonderful set and so glad I jumped on the recent Amazon discount.

    Seriously thinking about getting a second copy to double the size. Definitely picking up some extra minifigs to beef up the defenses.

    Had a quick raid on the Lego Disovery Centre in Manchester. Came away with another 850487 Halloween Accessory Pack and three Christmas polys - 40034 (Train), 40023 (Stocking), 40035 (Rocking horse), and a load of the old non-Duplo Factory Tour bricks :)

    Hit BN with member coupon and got Helm's Deep for about $100 out the door (box slightly damaged, oh well). On to Lego Store for Haunted House, $46 out the door after 10% catalog coupon and VIP points. And they exchanged my Helms Deep for an undamaged one!

    Got a BL order in the mail today from a Swiss store. I thought at first after getting the envelope that I had been scammed or something because All I could feel in it was a thin like 4" by 4" box and it didn't feel like LEGO. I pulled it out of the envelope an it is some form of cigarette box but it had "Lego Spare Parts" written on it but was taped in a way that made it look like it was still sealed. Opened it up to find the parts I ordered neatly and tightly packed into this box.

    ^ I've had Lego sent in biscuit boxes, biscuit tins, carrier bags mummified with parcel tape, DVD cases and once an iPad box!

    Just waiting for a Bricklink order to arrive this coming week and I'll have finished a MOC.

    But for today's status, for my almost complete MOC, I have today used some cable I bought in Maplins as an alternative to white flex tube and I think it looks quite good.

    I'll hopefully have some pics up on flickr before October.

    It's my Bday today! So hit the Lego store and picked up Jabba's Palace, Skiff, Pencil Cup Holder and went crazy on BL buying every Clone War mini fig I didn't already have. I must say, really liking CW after finishing the movie and Season 1 & 2. Some real good storylines that flesh out the SW universe. Wondering why I never gave it a chance until now.

    Yep. Saw a kid get to build one after his mom told an employee that it was his birthday.The things you hear and see at the PAB wall.

    Building my bricklinked UCS MF, and there's a few parts I thought i'd bought but haven't: 2 x LBG 9 hole rounded technic arms and 2 DBG loudhailer pieces (I have 40 in black :-( ). The more I build, the easier it gets to find parts I thought were missing, but i'm quite sure I don't have those. This thing is even bigger than I imagined (never seen one in the flesh).

    @monkeyhanger - I have to say, it is for your running commentary that you've convinced me to make a start on building mine. Three other Bricksetters stopping over on STEAM Eve to we can share the experience together. God knows what state we'll be in come STEAM Day!!

    Flump: Do you have all the parts for yours (assuming you've bricklinked yours rather than bought a complete one)? It is a great build so far, very few repetitive steps (save for the landing gear), and the thing is colossal.

    ^ I bought a 1st Edition back in 2008 I think it was. Just never had the time nor space to make a start. But the anxiety you're getting from Bricklinking yours is rubbing off on me. And so now, with more space, a day off work and friends to help, I have no excuses - we're gonna do it. :o)

    I too have never seen one in the flesh. I am a little apprehensive as to where I'm going to display once built.

    Status: Frustrated with LEGO Digtal Designer. (LDD)
    I bought two President's Conference Committee (PCC) Streetcars from PAB & BL. Being a 7 wide build with lot's of SNOT, it's very complex.... not to mention LDD keeps messing up by inserting bricks into area that is very fragile after the surounding are is enclosed... thus having me rip apart the entire project to insert the missing piece. It's happened 5 times, and Iv'e only finished the roof portions after two - three hours.

    Note to TLG: Please make a more logical, easier-to-understand Instruction creator for LDD!

    ^ are you saying that in LDD you are moving parts around to fit something in a hole that LDD just wont put the part because it is completely surrounded? (Like making a cube of 1x1's but leaving the center open and then trying to put one in last?)

    You know that using the hide tool to hide the pieces around it does the same thing and allows you to place the part then unhide everything.

    Flump: If you hold little value in the box yourself and haven't cracked the seal on your first edition, why not sell it for £2000/$3000 and bricklink one for yourself for 1/3 of the price or less (if you have a decent inventory of parts).

    @graphite got a stack of Lego righty packed in a trivial pursuits box. Sturdy packing and it was the. Jammed in a Jiffy bag.

    My status: birthday tomorrow and I know there's Lego in there somewhere. Wife has gotten me 40 presents. Can anyone guess how ancient ???

    @ graphite: I'm saying I had the parts to build it, and the LDD instructions creator wasn't behaving logically. (Placing parts down, then ripping them off to put something under them five steps later.) I've worked on it all afternoon, and just finished putting them together...
    Status: Very tired!

    Actually it was BrickDancer's.
    And if there was any confusion, I figured out about the minifig while listening to one of the employees talking to a little kid when I was at the PAB wall. My Birthday is close though (2 weeks from the 28th), and I intend to take advantage of said deal when the time comes...

    I didn't even realize there was such a thing. Went back to see if they would still give one, but no dice. No biggie, so just picked up a UCS R2D2 to not go home empty handed. Its the cherry on top for the bday weekend =)
