Friends display case elements wanter

Hi
Long shot but I was talking to a Lego store manager today and he said that a lot of the display bit are either binned or given away when they are done. I was specifically looking for the base bits from some of the friends displays, the bits with roads and grass on them as my daughter wants me to create a play board for her. Anyway the chap said all his had gone so I was wondering if anyone out got hold of any and would sell on or knows where I could get hold of any
