from the remaining bricks there was also about 1/2 of 4790 Alpha Team Robot Diver, the 3648 Police Chase red car minus 5 pieces, part of 4436 Patrol Car and the platform from 7201 Final Duel II (about 10 pieces)
Anyway, the whole lot was 38 euro inclidng shipping and for the parts to complete 9 of the sets it was perhaps another 10 euro. I've gone on to complete the cars, alpha team and final duel 2 set as well which was another 15-20 euro - 10 full sets for that much is a bargain.

I've disassembled the entire model, and I'm in the process of sorting and checking piece count against Peeron. The good news is that the set appears to be pretty close to complete if not 100% complete (aside from the manual and placard). All minifigs, all levers, boat rigging, rare technic parts, etc. Stickers applied to the control panel pieces.
The bad news is that the reason why it is complete is because a number of parts were glued together. It's a real minority -- maybe 50 plates and then another 100+ greebling pieces of the 5000+ pieces, but it is an issue. I've tried to gently break them apart but I'm having some bad luck (even using acetone to loosen the glue).
So I have to decide -- retain the glued pieces as is, or go out and buy new ones to replace. I may split the baby -- some of the glued pieces are things like the round 2x2 plate within the black radar dish - no big deal because it is all part of the same step and it is uniform for all parts. But with others the glued pieces will make it hard to re-assemble. So I think I'm going to just replace those parts and have a "new" set.
And there are some pieces that separated but have some glue residue. I think that so long as the bricks still "grip" it's fine, but I will likely replace the ones where the glue is visible / and or there is damage to the brick.
Question -- for max potential future resale value, what's the best approach - buy "new" pieces from TLG whenever possible. or just go through Bricklink? I will have to bricklink some of the large plates/unique pieces anyway, but wanted to get your collective thoughts on the most efficient approach to this. I don't mind spending a little more to get this right, given my absurdly low base point of $175 for a (apparently complete) UCS Falcon.
My maximum bid was £35.98 and I won it for £35.56 + £5.75 postage, total of £41.31, down side no box or instructions but the sticker is included.
When it is delivered I will check to see what is missing, (the important bits look to be there), and update my post.
This is actually a deal that I have to pass on (well a deal for me..don't know about you all). The seller's kid is entering his dark age and wants 300$ for his collection. He told me he has all the figs and instructions but the pieces are unsorted in a number of bags. I added names to the sets he's listed. Seller is in Stormville, NY, USA and I told the seller I'd post it around. Items of interest are Jabba's Sail Barge, 7734 Cargo plane, Peril in Peru, SP Max Sec Transport

Won an ebay auction for 855 Mobile Crane Truck for just $49. plus shipping. The last one that sold before this one sold for over $70.
I'm still short a bunch of the dark bley 1x1 cones and the light bley technic connectors - both are available but are quite expensive. Hoping for a better day. Also short three white 2x2 plates with pin and 9 of the 4x 2 light bley slopes as well, which I can't seem to find on Bricklink at the moment. I'm sure they'll pop up sooner or later. Even with those final parts, I'm still going to end up well below retail :).

Then I got about three old Lego catalogues (might come in handy for the database) and included I have about a thousand Lego pieces exluding the sets and about 20 minifigures and a very old metal and plastic car but sadly it is slightly broken. Lots of the pieces are very old and to be honest Ive never seen them before until now, please could any of you guys in this thread tell me if any of these sets are worth anything such as the two sets with boxes
:)
What made it such a bargain was I didn't have to bid for it on eBay or wait for a sellers invoice from Bricklink or pay for postage & packaging or wait for the postman to leave me a card saying "we have something for you down the parcel office", I just walked in off the street & picked up the box, paid the nice lady my money and went home....SIMPLES.
As soon as I got home I built the set & the only thing wrong was the box had some water damage to 1 corner,( I put it in the bin), all the lego was resealed in the numbered bags and all the parts are in mint condition so I am going to keep this one also. Now to finish my UCS Tie Interceptor
