At the end of the day everyone will do what they are happy to do. I gave up trying to encourage people to do (what I consider) the right thing, many moons ago.
People will do as they please and live with the outcome...

Pssst, @Prince. Best not mention to him the ability to return TWENTY FIVE B-Wings back to a brand store without receipt hey? Shhhh!

That I would love to see attempted, "Excuse me, I have these unwanted birthday gifts I received....".

My wife says return the Chima sets to Walmart. "Our son was going to have a sleepover and we decided to not give these out but we lost the receipt" then get something you want with the $100. Funny girl she is.

When you said your wife was a funny girl, I thought you were commenting that the idea was absurd. But you actually went through with returning sets to Walmart which weren't purchased from there (or even purchased, for that matter)? So, what was so funny about your wife then?
    jdylak said:

Not really what I said to the customer service manager. I didn't need to tell her anything but the truth as her daughter works for me. I told her I got them from Lego and didn't want them. The toy department manager, who I also know, said they'd sell in a day anyways. So, with that, no lies to make up. They got 5 sets of something that took 2 seconds to print a new sticker for, and put them on the shelf and they will be gone in a day. They took no extra shelf space as it was empty to begin with, took us not even 3 minutes to walk them back, and I picked up stuff that had been warming the shelves for months. No damage to them. No "intentional deception". If it was my personal gain, then it was Walmart's as well. Done.

As you indicate, this seems to have gone over okay because you knew the employees. Receiptless returns are a courtesy extended to customers because it's somewhat trivial for a store to either put it back on the shelf or send it back to the manufacturer. But the assumption is that you actually did buy the product there. The reason they take down your information as part of the process is because there is an annual/lifetime maximum value to prevent fraud and abuse, the likes of which you just committed.

Got my 5 B-wings today. I got 6 speedorz sets, but only one Han Solo. The B-wings came in well packaged unlike the last time I ordered one in which the TC-14 was pressed up against the box and dented it along the front.

Well... that's probably as close as we'll get to you admitting that chrome ruins LEGO. :D

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere else (or if it needs mentioning) but Amazon has dropped the B Wing to $150ish in the past few days. It is now hovering around $165 and is worth watching for another drop if you still wanted to pick one up.

[email protected] broke my 2 orders to 5 shipments. Guess how many Chima sets I have now. I see several kids getting the same birthday presents in the near future.

Tested out my Chima speeder set. It's a hit with my cat, lol. Moves like a mouse. Can use the extra pieces for some of my sets and maybe the clear blue ones for my starships as lights. Once I get the Falcon built, I'll see how I can make it look with them. Also, My Walmart had the Chima Winzar pack at $9(they called it Ice Tower). At 101pcs, not a bad price. Picked it up for my Hoth sets since there is so many white pieces in it. This is why I love LEGO, can always expand the original sets.

Wow. Stunning. So it IS useful for something?

Pending this new development, I'm thinking of listing mine on eBay under "Cat toy".

Yea, because I said I have 25 B Wings. I did my limit of 5. Nice that they sent my Han figures and Chima sets separate in 5 separate orders while the B Wings were on back order. Didn't realize the big boxes would also have the Han figure and Chima sets as well. End up with 10 Han figures and 10 Chima sets. Not a bad May the 5th. Wish it happened once a month.

^ I called foul. My 2 B-Wings got backordered too and yet I only got 2 free Hans...

The only thing stopping me from calling [email protected] about this is they might grant my request of 2 free Hans but send them along with 2 more Speedorz sets... 5 is enough !! :(

Interesting. The Hoth minifig is now hovering around $15 shipped. According to Y2KJosh these were supposed to be the next chrome C3P0 ; )
Glad I unloaded mine when it was going for $20 a week ago.
  • dougtsdougts Member Posts: 4,110
^ they will go up of course. now is when the market is flooded with everyone trying to sell theirs.

All anecdotal evidence seems to point to these being produced in smaller quantities than TC-14, so ultimate value a year from now could be interesting.

Purchased the Cuusoo Hayabusa set three days ago and received today. I was surprised they included a Chima set along with the Mr. Gold sticker sheet. I was surprised thinking that it was only given to those who ordered during the May 4th.

They often do. Not sure if 'usually' is the correct term. I have gotten a small city set (RRP $5), a keychain, poster, or some such over the years. Sometimes a small something. I have never gotten a $20 RRP something and now have 6 of the Chima sets! They send me my Han Solo, it comes with a Chima. They send me a poster, another Chima. B-Wing, Chima.... They must have a warehouse full of them.

just got my Bwings in the mail today and no freebies with the sets or the Han/poster bubble mailer I got earlier in the week. Looks like no goodies for Canadians :(

don't worry. me being on US i didn't get any freebies with my 2nd order of b-wing. i got the yellow bubble wrap mailer with few fliers and just the poster. no mr. han. so i call them and they tell me ah well. its one per household.
i was like are you for sure.. ok then cancel my rest of the order. so she goes back and put me on hold and comes back and tells me oh sorry it was her mistake, it was only one per order. and she will send the missing han..

so looks like someone got my han with that double thing. :D anyway i hope i will get the han.
btw, i did not get any chima set with this second order that's splitted. no chima with b-wing. or the bubblewrap.

    The VIP keychain fiasco :shivers:

@starwarfan77 there was no set limit. In fact, if you spent too much then you didn't get one. I think it was the shot heard 'round the world for the anti-reseller war to begin. "Lego shot first..."

I got an order confirmation and a PayPal receipt on the day of the order, the money has been taken from my account but I've heard nothing more so I emailed iparcel today who seem to be handling this and got the following back:

    "Hello -

Thank you for your email. We have received confirmation of your order as of 5/4/13. However, we have not yet received your order in our facility."

So my order hasn't been cancelled yet but it's not looking good is it, seems TRU can't supply the goods to fulfil the order.

^ I think this is where we have a difference re the money taken. I paid or rather @legoboy paid with my debit card and not via paypal. Money was taken but has since returned. Not a refund as such, from a banking viewpoint the transaction never took place. Still no official cancellation though.

  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,825
^ Wasn't the only thing @Legoboy bought on @Kevbags' debit card that day! ;-)

About 4 people on an Australian forum who managed to order a B-Wing from TRU have had their orders cancelled, as far as I know none of the others have received theirs yet, or even a shipping confirmation.

It’s not looking good for international customers.
  • alijoezacalijoezac Member Posts: 554
I've chased TRU.com on the B-wing, my order cancelled too - I paid via PayPal and had to chase i-parcel for a refund
  • atkinsaratkinsar Member Posts: 4,258
I also chased and got a refund from i-Parcel on the b-wing yesterday
  • stevenzhangstevenzhang Member Posts: 515
@atkinsar, I have a similar problem too: placed the order on 4th May, charged through paypal, but never heard anything after that....

is [email protected] the correct email to chase the refund? which number did you quote in the email (the order number from toyrus)?

    Thanks!
  • atkinsaratkinsar Member Posts: 4,258

^ yes send an email to [email protected] quoting the order number from the TRU email, you will probably get a stock response like we've all been getting, something like...

"Thank you for your email. We have received confirmation of your order as of 5/4/13. However, we have not yet received your order in our facility."

But don't leave it there, reply and ask for a refund because you don't believe TRU can fulfil the order, that's what I did and I got my refund an hour later. They seem to respond very quickly.
  • AvengerDrAvengerDr Member Posts: 453
I contacted TRU, they said they didn't know at first and asked me to contact iparcel. I forwarded them iparcel's reply and they answered that they'd look into it. After a few days I got the cancellation email from TRU.
