Postage wait times from US to UK

I have traded with another member through here and I await a delivery from the US to myself in the UK. I would estimate that anytime I have traded through post to the US I have waited about 4 to 6 weeks for the stuff from the US to make its way to me. The other trader received the items I sent after about 8 weeks. I am now at 10 weeks and don't know if it's time I declared the trade lost in post. Has anyone experienced longer postage wait times? Has the parcel been seized by customs and may eventually make its way to me after they inspect it? I have no reason to believe the other trader has tricked me as he has messaged looking for updates and is willing to make amends for what I am missing to protect his feedback. I have never had anything ever disappear in the post but I suppose international stuff is more likely to as it probably passes through many sets of hands. The items I traded were worth about £50.

From US to Europe, worst I have seen was 7 weeks (to Germany). UK has always been 2 to 4 weeks.
In my recent packages to the UK, the custom form # can be used for tracking, do you have it ?

^ Exactly eight weeks ago would be the 22nd. Since the "free" tracking didn't start until the 27th, it could well have been shipped without it.

I had packages shipped before the increase (27th I think) and arrived after and I had full tracking.

You can still input the customs form number and it will show when it left the US.

average of 2 weeks for me from US to UK for proper parcels and a little less for small padded envelopes.

I am having some problems with a trade with @margot at the moment. I sent out a package well over a month ago and it has yet to arrive over in the US. In my experience two or three weeks is the usual delivery time between the UK and US, but I suppose it varies to a great extent.

Normally 2 to 3 weeks seems about right, but it can all depend on the customs. I've had packages sit in customs for 2 weeks without doing anything (they didn't even have any charges etc) before now so thats always a possibility. The postal service should give details of when is appropriate to claim for a lost parcel dependent on which service is used.

I've had some packages arrive in less than two weeks (UK <-> US, both directions), but at times it took up to four weeks (both directions again).

I wonder what is going on especially as that first package never arrived. I know that everything I send over to Europe usually takes one week. I wonder if there is a customs issue on my side?
I did not know you could track with the customs number, that is great.
