What to get?

So i have a budget of about £75 - £100 a month to spend on Lego and was wondering what well detailed sets there are that people here like, i know about the Modular Buildings and do plan on getting 1 or 2 of those sometime, but what else is there out there?

Right now, before it is ELO'd, I can highly recommend #10220 VW Camper Van. Probably the most detailed set currently available in that price range.

Get #10197 Fire Brigade before it's discontinued too.

The answer to this question depends on your individual tastes and interests. I like the more challenging 1000+ piece sets in a number of different themes. Lego also makes a number of sets geared toward the more advanced builder like the modulars like you mentioned.

If you like gears and more technical sets I'd recommend the Technic line-

I'd say try some different types of smaller sets to find out what you like.

At the moment i have a few star wars sets and technic sets, are there any really well detailed star wars sets, that are not in the UCS series?

^depends on how detailed is detailed for you. Most of the bigger sets tend to be enjoyable. I would suggest just scrolling through the database here and looking at the images and even the directions to the sets that catch your eye. Ultimately, only you can decide if you will enjoy a set or not.

Don't spend your budget. Check reviews, check youtube videos, check images, find something you like. Then spend your budget. If there is nothing you like right now, then carry the budget over to the next month(s) when there might be something in the price range you have saved.

And keep an eye on the deals available through Amazon, etc. Makes the budget go further.

If you are looking for a well detailed star wars set that is currently available would be the Republic Frigate, Millenium falcon or Tie Fighter. Now if you are looking for an older set I would go with Slave 1 third edition.
